  1. Okay, I'd like to make a few suggestions for the next expansion. I thought about them for some time now and just need to get them off my chest. If you should find yourself disagreeing with them, you are welcome to suggest changes or something completely different. Heck, you are even welcome to say "It sucks, I hate it" but then I'd like to know why you think it sucks. Here it goes, starting with my title for it: Knights of the Eternal Alliance (KOTEA) Two general things: The story would be told in chapters again like in KOTFE/KOTET. There would be no level cap increase, intead the chapters would award Command XP. Now on to the additions the expac could provide: 1. Story Now, there are many options the writers could pursue. Personally, I went with an invasion by the Yuuzhan Vong like in the New Jedi Order books. I haven't read the books, I just went through the TV Tropes page to get a general idea of it. Now I know that this might not be the best idea, I just thought it might be cool because I find the Vong pretty interesting. It's up to the writers, they have considerable creative freedom and everything in this suggestion can be considered a placeholder anyway. It will fall to the Eternal Alliance to unite the galaxy against this threat. 1.1: Planets A new expac will bring new planets, and I think it would be nice if they included Kashyyyk and Dantooine, both of which we saw in KOTOR. Another awesome thing would be a return to Iokath, adding more lore about the location. Something only possible with a Vong invasion story is the addition of Zonama Sekot, the living plant appearing in several Legends titles. 1.2: Returning Class Companions I just make a list here. Thing is, I can't crank out a return story for them on the fly. I also think that not all of them can return in a single expac, so I'll concentrate on Pub classes (but add two Imp comps anyway), becuase they (except Troopers) got the short end of the stick in KOTFE. Malavai Quinn (Sith Warriors should get the option to kill him) Zenith Tharan Cedrax Doc Kira Carsen Nadia Grell Ashara Zavros Lord Scourge (probably would require a filler chapter) Felix Iresso Corso Riggs Risha Akaavi Spar 1.3: Romance Options Yeah, this is what many want. For starters, players can continue their romance with returning class companions. Also, they should get another opportunity to romance Lana Beniko, Koth Vortena or Theron Shan if they haven't done so already. On top of all this, I have three new options: Characters of both genders get the option to romance Arcann (@Eshvara: I hope you're reading this.), adding a male forcer user romance, or Senya Tirall, for people with a taste for older women Then, I have a third romace option, but for female Jedi Knights only: Lord Scourge (@Lunafox: Shout out to you.). After helping him regain his senses, female Knights will have the option of pursuing a relationship with him. 2. Cartel Market No expac is complete without additions to the Cartel Market. Here are some items I'd like to see: 2.1: Holdovers from KOTET Empress Vaylin Armor Set Horizon Guard Armor Set Vaylin's Lightsaber Lord Dramath's Lightsaber Pike (we need more pikes.) 2.2: KOTEA-related items Again, keeping with a Vong theme: Vonduun Crab Armor (link) Amphistaff (link) 2.3: Misc items New CM companion - Darth Hexid She lost the DvL event, so she might as well be made available on the CM. 3. Subscriber Rewards I think it would be nice if, instead of offering new rewards, BW did a "Subscriber Rewards Rerun", giving players another chance to claim past rewards. It could go like this: Be a subscriber on... ...day V to get Nico Okarr ...day W to get HK-55 ...day X to get the "Shroud of Memory" chapter and Z0-0M ...day Y to get Shae Vizla ...day Z to get early access to KOTEA. 4. Miscellaneous Changes These are just things I'd like to see... much like the rest of this post to be honest. More Solo Content: All Flashpoints, Operations and Uprisings should get a solo mode option where you fight alongside computer-contolled characters. There are people who don't want to group, and this could get these players to play through these missions. Cartel Market armor sets get revamped to look more like the armor/clothes worn by the characters they're based on. For people who missed the DvL event for some reason: Master Ranos should become available through Galactic Command by reaching a certain tier. This could help sell the Galactic Command system.
  2. @yaorderstank: I understand your point, and in the end I think it's a matter of personal taste. You would like to keep the Imp/Pub dichotomy, while I love Alliance-type stories to death. Also, I agree with our sentiment that the Vitiate storyline was getting stale and dragged out, but now it's over and the writers can concentrate on new stuff. But the three expacs were indeed a long path to his final defeat. @Darth_Krushya: I was also very satisfied with the ending. My Jedi Guardian having become the leader of a powerful organization dedicated to keeping peace and finally killing his nemesis was just awesome.
  3. @yaorderstank: There are multiple reasons for one-size-fits-all stories: For starters, the devs operate under budget constraints, they simply do not have the hundreds of millions of dollars they had when they made the base game at their disposal anymore (especially because the game was a huge financial loss at first). Thus, they have to allocate their resources wisely and cannot spend as freely as they could at the beginning of the development process. Second, strict adherence to a two-factions-at-war paradigm (Horde vs. Alliance, Empire vs. Republic, Klingons vs. Federation, Red vs. Blue; you get the idea) can only work for so long. After some time, this type of story can and will grow stale, at which point the writers will face a problem: the player base will cry for something new or, in typical fashion, outright claim that the game is dying. This is when a new threat will have to be introduced, and it is just easier to go with a one-size-fits-all story, as it significantly cuts down development time, which is crucial in sating the appetite of impatient players. Finally, in addition to the story growing stale, the writers would just as easily write themselves into a corner: They would need to constantly keep with the theme of the two factions, greatly reducing their creative freedom, which, unsurprisingly, contributes to the story growing stale. In the end, the Eternal Alliance allows the writers far more creative freedom while cutting down on development time and allowing them to work under a tighter budget. While this might seem lazy to some, it allows the writers to write themselves out of their corner more easily. Summing up, I respectfully disagree with you, as I believe that the Eternal Alliance creates a greater degree of possibilities for the writers. While there might be nothing more Star Wars than Sith fighting Jedi, even this might come to be seen as boring and cliché if overused. PS: This is a matter of personal taste, but I love "Alliance" stories where two warring factions put their differences aside to fight a greater threat.
  4. I'm not really sure how to say this, but I genuinely liked KOTFE/KOTET. This might be because so far, I only took a Knight through it and the story, as many before me have pointed out, makes perfect sense for him (I even heard a rumor that it was originally planned to be a continuation of the JK's class story). Maybe if I took a different class through the story, I could see the problems that others had. I even liked the Attuned saber I got from Chapter 12, mainly for its design, and I have kept it on my Knight ever since. The only problem I had with the story was that it didn't seem to acknowledge my vanilla companions' existence (except T7). But I have to agree with the sentiment that the writers have written themselves into a corner. This mirrors the feeling I had when, after five or so years, the Iconian storyline in STO finally ended (the game had long since resorted to one-size-fits-all stories at that point, much like SWTOR). The Sith Emperor/Vitiate/Valkorion storyline is over, Zakuul belongs to us, and we possess an enormous military force in the form of the Eternal Fleet and the only known counter to it, the Gravestone, as well as a fleet of ships that came from the Sith Empire and the Republic. It can be safely assumed that the writers cannot really return to the "Imp vs. Pub" paradigm of the vanilla storylines, as we are basically the head of our own faction now. Returning to the old paradigm would destroy everything we accomplished in KOTFE/KOTET, and while some players might want to see "the slate wiped clean" of these two expansions and hope that it is just retconned and never brought up again, other players might be enraged by such a decision and I also believe that to be impossible to accomplish in a satisfying manner. The easiest way to continue the story would be to introduce a fourth faction that threatens the galaxy, as this would allow the "one-size-fits-all" theme to continue. Which faction (Killiks? Yuuzhan Vong? Republic/Imperial splinter factions? Kephess?) is entirely up to the writers as they seem to enjoy a lot of creative freedom.
  5. Actually, it's different. If an armor set is named after an NPC, it's usually spot on (like Satele Shan's armor, the Darth Malgus set, both Revan sets and the Zakuul Knight set). Thexan's set only has a problem with the gloves and I just think it would look cooler if it was exactly like the ones worn by the NPCs. The Wicked Huntress set and the Dark Advisor set are only "inspired" by Vaylin and Lana, if the sets were named after them, they would be more true to the character.
  6. Sorry, couldn't think of a better title and also don't know where else to post this, as it is about a CM item, but not a new one. First of all, I really do like the Thexan set, it was the first thing I bought from the CM. But now, playing through KotET, I noticed something that seemed like a glaring oversight to me. Sadly, I do not have a screenshot of Thexan's ingame model right now, so I selected one fron the trailer (http://www.blur.com/assets/uploads/2015/06/FallenEmpire_25-1000x563.jpg) Now I know you might not be able to make stuff look exactly like it did in the trailer. But the gloves on Thexan's ingame model (also those on Arcann) look more "true to the trailer" that the ones in the CM set (Screenshot:http://torf.mmo-fashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Thexan-Female-Gloves_thumb.jpg). I haven't noticed this before, but now that I have, it kind of annoys me, because you got them correct on the ingame model. I also feel like a complete idiot writing this, but it would just annoy the heck out of me if I was the CM armor designer. This is just a minor grievance, it doesn't have to be fixed right away, and if it isn't possible, I can live with it. Like I said, this is the only part of the set that annoys me, otherwise, you have done a great job on the set, like you did on the game. So, can you please look into it and try fixing this?
  7. Thanks for the replies @Torvai: I think I'll try out the Relnex set. It looks exactly like the Battleborn set, but with the hood down. I think I'll dye it, though.
  8. Hello guys, long time lurker, first time poster here. If this isn't the appropriate subforum for my question, tell me and I'll post it somewhere else. Basically, I want to know what the best/most fitting outfit for a Jedi Knight, specifically a male Vigilance Guardian, is. One that I've found very fitting was the Veteran Pummeler set (I got it on my JK using the start at 60 exploit, which was fixed shortly after), but I'm not using that right now because it got stale after a while. For the most part of the storyline, he wore Thexan's Robes, which I had dyed white and black later on, but I changed it to the Veteran Pummeler set becuase he looked too much like Arcann. Now, what do you thing is the most fitting outfit for my character? I'm settled on all my other characters, but I haven't found an appropriate outfit for my most important character yet. Maybe this is precisely because I'm so invested in him. There is one limitation: the outfit should have it's hood down or no hood at all. Side note: right now, he's wearing the Nathema Zealot set.
