  1. Had a similar issue last week myself. In a moment of stupidity I bought a single cartel pack for 4.8 million when the going rate at that time was 230k. I thought I was buying a hypercrate.. The listing like many of the ones mentioned before was intended to deceive. The item description is similar, the icon when you search is similar and the seller after checking can be found doing the same thing across multiple other items. Pricing single items to take advantage of confusion over decimal points or in my case single packs priced as if they are the cheapest crate of 24. On the flip side last week I listed a regeneration toy at 142k. I was the only seller. In the space of 3 hours another 2 pages popped up all cheaper than me. But mine sold that day while others did not. Someone's error. I take the responsibility for my errors on my shoulders though. I am not short of game credits and can take the odd knock for being stupid. Others are not so lucky and should really be getting more protection than they are from the game. So what I would welcome then is the ability to add players from the GTN to your ignore list and have those listings not appear when you search. If you look for these stupid listings. I think you would be surprised how few are actually behind these scams. Just like in real life when I block emails from senders who try to extort money in the latest get rich scheme, I want to be able to block sellers who are listing with the intention of tricking others. No idea how complex that is but I would welcome it all the same. Just my opinion. In the mean time I will try and be more careful.
  2. The odds of getting a walker are 0.001% So on average that is one lovely 90% speed walker dropping out of the machine every 100'000 clicks. Anyone clicking that machine to get one knowing those odds should be locked up to protect the public. I can't imagine anyone sane would do it.
  3. No you don't. It's not 75%. You now have a 45% lose chance You now have 20% chance of getting your token back You now have 34.4% chance of reputation (only 4.5% of that is worth more than the coin you spent getting it) You now have a 0.6% chance of any Junk, Certificates or a mount (I have rounded up)
  4. You used to have a sky high 30.5% chance of winning a version of Junk or a certificate. To win any version of junk or a certificate now you have 0.365% chance. Roughly once every 200'000 credits Oh and the new walker 0.001% chance . So 1 mount every 100'000 clicks
  5. According to swtor miner the before and after percentages from the slot machines are: "lose" 25% -> 45% "win_token" 20% -> 20% "win_jawa_junk" 10% -> 0.1% "win_droid_parts" 10% -> 0.15% "win_scavenged_scrap" 10% -> 0.2% "win_trophy_small" 10% -> 16.999% "win_trophy_medium" 8% -> 13% "win_trophy_large" 5% -> 4.5% "win_certificate" 2% -> 0.05% win_imp_mount - 0.001% win_rep_mount - 0.001% Lets put it another way to win any version of junk or a certificate you now have 0.365% chance. One % chance is a winning roll every 75'000 credits, so this is approx one chance every 200'000 credits. As result you would be insane to use the machine for anything other than a decoration now if you have maxed out reputation.
  6. Didn't just want to throw a guild advert on this thread so I am going to point you all over to this http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=758177 and explain. That is post we made about the Cake guilds on Red eclipse. Cake was set up after the leadership of the multi game guild we had joined decided that SWTOR wasn't the game for them. A decision that was made by a group of people that no longer played or had never played SWTOR. After that a bunch of us decided that we really didn't want the same type of guild these people had formed or had been formed a million times in game already. The end result is the Cake guilds as they stand today, still here well over a year later. Yes we are busy with people flipping from the Rep to Imp guilds depending on mood but not madly so. We still have a good idea who everyone is and find the time to talk to each other We are not hard core or so casual that nothing is ever done. We don't have a hoard of officers, in fact we don't have any. Just people who do certain jobs and we only have one guild rule. Don't be an arse. We also don't fill up game chat with our adverts, we approach people who ask or let word of mouth bring people in. We have had some success. We do pretty well in operations both 8 and 16 man. Most of us have a million alts taking part in what ever is happening. We find ourselves in the top ten invasion list pretty often, have two very large guild ships that cost us a hundred million and most importantly we have parties with prizes for often no reason more than we like them. I like what we have. Its not a group of immature kids playing tyrant. But adults (the odd younger person), men, women, couples, gay and straight playing an MMO for fun together. No dramas, no arses. If your tempted take a look.
  7. Since the 12x XP boost players can not keep up trading in planet coms for armour. That has resulted in a huge boost in demand for Armour on the GTN. For the next couple of months craft and sell low to mid level green/blue anything for easy credits. I crafted 50 blue chests the other day all level 15/16 (I was using up overstocks of level 1 materials). Sold them all in within 24 hours at 9995 each. Its crazy. I have even been selling all the drops I would normally vendor trash as I level. Everything is selling.
  8. So let me get this right. You target scammers by doing exactly the same thing as this horde of supposed scammers are doing by over pricing units? Sounds brilliant.
  9. To answer the OP..........NO. I would be more bummed if the developers kept messing up the skills for 95% of players, so that the 5% who go hybrid can feel special.
  10. We have one tiny part of a huge change to combat released and it is the end of the world. It has already been made VERY clear that SWTOR could not be balanced with hybrids in the mix. This forced the developers to push essential skills further and further up the skill trees to avoid players getting them. That resulted in tanks not tanking and healers not healing at lower levels as they did not have the skills available. So if anyone is very upset that they are not able to winkle out non intended advantages by going hybrid then sorry for your loss. But to be honest it was breaking the game and based on some skill trees I have seen. Many players had the worst of both worlds rather than the best of anything by going hybrid and as a result are not much of a loss to any group.
  11. As the title suggests I thought I would put out my ideas and welcome others to submit there own for how best to make credits before the expansion and how to prepare for after. For those who can remember back to the Makeb expansion and the impact on the GTN then it will come as no surprise that most of the same things will almost certainly happen with the new level rise to 60. That is a minimum of two new levels of armour will be introduced and a new level of resources. When anything stops being the highest level / best in game the pattern from this and previous MMO's is for a massive and permanent price reduction on the trader. SWTOR will be no different. Although the swapping of resources for mods, armourings, enhancements etc still holds some rewards as I expect the resources to show a similar drop. Anything involving spending credits would be very foolish in my opinion. On the flip side if your one of those lucky people selling top end items then I expect you will already be trying to sell all your stock. For how to make credits in a crashing top end market the answer is pretty simple and has been helped greatly by the decision to boost class xp. When you can level as fast as you are able now. Spending much on anything you will out level in minutes is foolish. So expect Green and blue leveling items priced under 10k to fly out the GTN, high priced purples will sit. Cartel armour of any type will get a boost, as will speeders, cartel crystals and cartel weapons. It makes sense that with all this levelling going on that unloved classes will get a look in as people aim to complete the sets. Watch a lot of Snipers and double handled lightsaber users suddenly appear on the fleet. If I was a betting man then I would be putting down cash on anything with Aim being the most popular. A lot of people have Treek as a sidekick and with a lot of new characters you will get a lot of Treeks. For how to prepare for after it is a big guessing game currently. The only guarantee anyone has is that you will need credits. Other than that watch the market. I am certain that those testing the expansion although not able to discuss the content due to the NDA will use that knowledge to position themselves to make credits or avoid losing to many. One thing I would be surprised if they change is cartel crystals, companies almost never obsolete items that customers pay cash for in game shops. People get very upset. So I think it more likely that we get conversion machines or upgrade slots for weapons to hold two crystals than a new tier of crystal. But I could be wrong.
  12. It is pretty easy to remain equipped, the same goes for your companion who seems to be a little ignored around here. For those brand new to the game or who have not crafted at all it will be harder, your stuck with the GTN and the higher prices for all equipment that are going to follow. For those lucky enough to have been around a while and to have put some effort in it is much easier. For your companion use star fighter legacy armour. Most player have multiple sets. Craft every other Mod, armourings, enhancments available, using Aim as the main stat when possible. Think it takes about 5 sets of legacy armour and you have levelling sets for at least one companion for every character that will take you from 10-55 (you do have treek right?) For yourself use green armour you craft yourself. Do not waste money on anything better. With a well set up companion and the presense you gain with multiple characters you will walk it in greens.
  13. The starter GTN player should hoover up all the dirt cheap purple armour set boxes listed at crazy prices a few days after every pack hits. Buy anything under a 1000 credits. Sit on them for 2 months then list the contents 2 at a time back on the GTN (avoid flooding then market). For every 20k you put in I would expect you to get a 100k back. All you need is the storage and that is what bank alts are for.
