  1. I've been thinking, for most of the advanced classes and just classes in general - the names make sense. Something I noticed though is that the Sentinel wouldn't make sense to me to be a sentinel. The description I found for "sentinel" was "A soldier or guard whose job is to stand and keep watch." Since they are the AC that dual wields, alongside Marauder, it would make sense for them to be called something else, don't you think? It doesn't really matter but it puzzles me that the game designers would name the class that. Just a minor thing. :3
  2. Hi. For some species the lore is explained how they are named, but for some species (like Sith Pureblood unless I am wrong) there isn't much explaining it. One of the things I am worried about though is that I will name my main Kite'rae (male Sith Jedi Knight) the 'rae being sort of a thing I made up where it's the main part of their last name (Raeyy) hooked up to their personal name to make it one thing. For example one of my characters I play (his mom) is Mael'rae. Anyways I am asking if you have any funny naming conventions or something with your character(s), I am a curious hog.
  3. Thanks everyone. I think I will use a Mirialan for my Shadow, and then a Pureblood for my Knight.
  4. Hi! I've been having lots of trouble picking a species for my main character... which will be a light side Jedi Guardian. Anyways I've been debating whether to use Mirialan, Rattataki, and Pureblood (Sith). I've taken a look at the Purebloods first because their designed intrigued me when the game first came out (first character I did was a SW) but my problems with them is that for one it seems very out of place to have a light side jedi as one, not to mention it specifically says in the lore that they 'feed' off of the dark side force. Rattataki I'm not too sure about either because for one they are described (at least on the articles about them on Wookieepedia) to essentially be very much an oppressed and enslaved and even war oriented people. I mostly don't have a problem with this but seeing how a Jedi is very much supposed to be a peacekeeper of sorts and be calm and collected and not follow things like revenge (specifically revenge seems to be a common trait a Rattataki might possess because of all of the death and oppression their species has had) -- on that note I was pondering playing kind of a light sided, trying-to-be-good guy who faced troubles with people who had problems with in the past. Mirialan I've been considering for a few reasons... obviously the other two species I mentioned are not normally playable for Jedi Knights, however I am kinda crazy about playing the right species for me etc. so I don't exactly mind all that much grinding up a guy to 50 just for that. I do like the general idea of Mirialans, they seem kind of like how I think in very much sort of a simple idea of being nice and thoughtful I suppose. I mainly have one problem with them though... the way they look. Thing is, the color of their skin whether it be yellow, green, or amber looks kind of gross to put it simply. I remember when I was younger and I first looked at Luminara Unduli I thought somebody threw-up on her face or something. It's just so terrible of a skin tone... also with the tattoos, not so much the tattoos themselves but how it is noted "they are for achievements or tasks the mirialan did" however I tryed finding "patterns" for them, like what pattern means what, like do three triangles on your left cheek mean revenge or something? You get what I mean. Sorry for the word wall, but I think people here are more patient and interested than some of the other sections. Thanks for the feedback
  5. Hi... so just wondering what exactly everything affection points effect, basically. The only real thing I know they affect is your ability to marry/get into a relationship with a possibly courtable companion, but what else does it affect? Your storyline? If they hate you do they perform worse?
  6. Hi, I've been hearing some rumors that the droid you get for your ship is sub-par for combat. I will be playing a Jedi Guardian Tank, and I've been wondering if C2-N2 would be a viable companion to use. Thanks!
  7. Hello! So something I'd like to talk about some is the "fighting styles" present in the star wars universe involving light-sabers. Basically I've been very confused why very few people in the cartoons/movies/etc. actually dual wield two lightsabers. I understand in combat you may want to only use one blade, but instead of just having one you could keep the other in your hand and put it to the side and turn it off? The only real disadvantage of this is that you have less strength to use when you lock blades (only one arm) but from what I've seen when two fighters lock blades it's either: A) Rare B) It is broken quickly by force pushing or evasions-- With saberstaffs (double-sided lightsabers) it makes more sense why they'd be used in the star wars universe, but I really can't understand why you'd use one. The only idea I have about it is that it's actually for expense reasons, not actual combat ones. This especially makes me feel more comfortable on this stance because often you might see a dead jedi throwing his lightsaber to his apprentice or whatever then they go and dual wield two sabers. I don't understand, weren't they TRAINED just to use one? Why would they then just switch to two? If they were trained to switch to two from one they'd carry another flippin' saber with them! HEAD EXPLOSION! Thanks for reading and possibly helpin'
  8. Hi wasn't sure to put this here or in lore discussion -- but whatever! So something I'd like to talk about some is the "fighting styles" present in the star wars universe involving light-sabers. 9. Hi I am trying to figure out if it's commando or vanguard or even a smuggler advanced class... but basically I like playing an "artillery" kind of role, which class does that best for Republic side?
  10. Probably a dumb question (but hey a dumb question for a dumb person) do I have to server transfer...? I am on Shadowtown, and it says "your characters will be moved even if you don't make the transfer to The Bastion..." so basically is the bastian and Shadowtown being merged?
  11. Question about the Shadowbox racial for the Rat's... is it like the Mirilian racial where it can be used as a substitute for your out-of-combat-regeneration ability? (EX. Seethe) Or is it just purely social?
  12. Hi... it's mister hog here. I've played since the start but only a few days ago have I came back since the initial release... but basically I am starting over with a Jedi Knight (eventually Sentinel) class. I am one of those perfectionist people though that needs to have the certain eye color, skin color, name, hair etc. otherwise I simply can't go on with that character. Basically what I am asking is if anybody that struggles with that as well has any strategies tackling the problem? I've just been trying to figure out what species/etc. to play and all the little details like which eyecolor and name and mask they use... Help? Thanks ;_;
  13. Hi... just have some general questions to ask. First of all to use an unlocked species for a class do I need to pick a legacy? I want to keep the legacy blank for now but I am grinding up a sith pureblood so I can make my jedi a pureblood for RP reasons. Secondly, is it better generally to play on a light standard heavy or very heavy server? I assumed light, all my characters are on Shadowtown... a problem I've been having though is that when I queue up to PvP I never get a game... ever. So I'm not sure what to do...
