  1. I didn't, I just think the mechanics are stupid and long winded and just clunk the story out. They have no place in a solo mode story.
  2. It may be trival but its just annoying and only serves to stall out the game and disrupt the story. I will admit that the combat in this game is so close to WoW, its almost funny. Madness Sorcerers are almost spell for spell similar to Shadow Priests.
  3. Bioware, some of your designs are great and this game is fun and fluid. However, I was playing through the Jedi storyline and got to Belsavis, where I had a kill a Colonel Hereth. It would all be well and good if you could just kill her outright but no, she swarms you with about 20 adds of droids that give her a shield that makes her immune to all damage. I wonder where you get off putting this in a solo part of the game. If I wanted to tear my hair out over frustrating cheap mechanics, I would do Hard Mode Operations. Please keep that crap in there and make the game more fluid and interesting rather then putting annoying mechanics everywhere just to drag out the length of time you spend leveling. It just shows uninspired and bad gameplay design. Thats the problem with this game in general, the story is great, the setting is great, there is lots to do but then you ruin it by trying to make this game into a blatent wow rip-off where a lightsaber might as well a blunt stick. Its ridiculous for this kind of setting. Then, just when I thought you might have got out of that stupid habit with "Shadow of Revan" (SOLO Mode Flashpoints are a god-send to get away from annoying pugs stalling progress btw), you then shove more stupid mechanics into the fight with Revan at the end. I am seriously getting bored of this obvious attempt to pad the game out.
  4. I think this game is awesome, I think Bioware has come a long way from the disaster that started this game off. However, there is one thing that really annoys me in this game and that is lightsaber forms. Lightsaber forms in this game do not change animations when attacking to correctly reflect the form you are using. For example, Ataru has no acrobatic movements associated with the form and Soresu does not look more defensive then the other animations. It is little things like this that really add to the feel of the game. I would also like to see "Form 2 - Makashi" added to the game as a more offensive saber-to-saber combat that contains some of the graceful fencing style moves shown by Count Dooku. It would be the perfect way for us to remember the late Christopher Lee, who behind-the-scenes was actually responsible for the development of Makashi (taking RL experience from fencing, with such moves as the riposte). Giving this form in game would be a wonderful way for Bioware to honor his passing and his contribution to the Star Wars universe.
  5. I think its awesome that you tried Bioware to deliver decent space combat after how bad the original combat was but seriously, the controls on this are annoying, the ships look boring and quite frankly, it feels more like a point and click game then genuine fighter combat. Why can't we pilot some of the bigger ships like Star Destroyers in this mode too so they can get into a slugging match with the Republic warships while the fighters dance around them. That would be so much cooler. Some of us don't want to be fighter pilots, I'd much rather fly a Capital Class ship. No Star Wars game ever gives you the option to do that and that annoys me about Star Wars in general. Can I have one game that allows you to fly Capital Class ships?
  6. I'm sorry Bioware but it is just bad designed when an Agent can keep you stun-locked indefinitely with no actual counter play or an assassin. Stuns last WAY TOO LONG in this game, its just bad design. If you look at other games like for example, League of Legends, you will notice that no CC lasts more then 2-3 seconds and the cooldown on them is rather large. It should be the same in this game because right now PvP is a joke when Agents/Assassins/Juggernauts can keep stun-locked so that you cannot fight back. Especially if you happen to be on of those unfortunate classes with stun times.
  7. Its not fun at all, you cannot do anything with the Capital Ships in the battle and you are limited to these pathetic little fighters. Apparently, during a war, the capital ships just sit there and do nothing... obviously. But yes, this is exactly the kind of p2w non-innovation that is why ToR has lost so many subscribers from launch. Its just so half-assed.
  8. Honestly, I was really happy to see about Galactic Starfighter and how cool it was going to be. But seriously, this is just awful. Bioware have completely messed it up. Why oh why could you not look to superior games like Battlefront for inspiration. The Galactic Starfighter combat system is annoying to control, boring and frankly is very badly thought out because you cannot do anything with Capital Ships which is the WHOLE FRIGGING POINT of space combat. I am sorry but another franchises MMO complete owns this in space combat *cough*STO*cough* because you can command ships that are larger as well as individual fighters. Plus a "system" that rewards players for how much money they put into the game, doing the P2W again to make a quick buck. Good call there Bioware *sarcasm* Seriously, you used to do games like Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic - Oh how the mighty have fallen. Oh and btw, that to be decent at this, you have to put in money to a "add-on" feature that is not even part of the main game. Bioware reminding us on how they completely failed to make Space Combat worth doing.
  9. Hi there, I first want to say that I love this game, having come here from STO which is a complete P2W mess. My guild came over to Red Eclipse because I already had the game before and got to Level 49. I have since leveled to 55 but am finding myself struggling to find solo content that is engaging and fun while my guild catches up with me. I do wish there were multiple planets for each level bracket so that if you wanted to, you could go do different stories on different worlds and then go back and do them when you are 55. Please, don't get me wrong, I'm not whining and I really do want to spend a lot of time on this game but it just seems there is not much to do endgame instead of grinding dailies, Flashpoint Pugging (Which can be a nightmare) and the same 6 warzones. I guess I was just hoping for more then just Makeb (a planet which I never really liked to begin with, its not really an iconic world enough to keep my interest.) Here are a few suggestions for giving more Endgame content, feel free to comment. - Space PvP - Introduce Guild Starships, vessels like Star Destroyers which are maintained by a guild and you can buy specific upgrades for your guild ship with credits, like you do for your own ship. This place would be a "homebase" for your guild and could move around between planets as well. You could accidentally encounter the other factions ships and engage in a battlefront-style engagement where some of your guild members get in gun turrets while the others man fighters and engage in combat in the space inbetween the ships. You could get a variety of different fighters and board enemy ships, sabotaging systems within while the enemy fights you off. - New planets, two in each level bracket. Give people a little more variety in planet. For example; Imperial leveling Hutta or Korriban Dromund Kaas Balmorra or Naboo Nar Shaddaa or Byss Tatooine or Mustafar Alderaan or Kamino Taris or Telos (See how the Republic's recolonization efforts are going hehe) Hoth or Vjun Quesh or Ziost Belsavis or Endor Corellia or "The Maw" (Loads of ancient space stations there) Republic only planet suggestions Dantooine Chandrilla Kashyyyk Manaan Yavin IV Geonosis That way, you have an incentive to level another character with the same class story but go a different route to increase replay-ability.
  10. Sorry... all I read was "Greed", "Greed", "Mass Capitalism", "Greed". Please feel free to justify putting the price up in any way you want to but you are just highlighting the problem of the mass greed of people.
  11. An excellent point, the fact that people are willing to pay inflated prices results in the GTN becoming even more inflated. Because, no offense but people "en masse" are idiots and are unable to understand the careful balance of economics. We see this so much in the modern world today.... people buy things that they are unable to afford straight out and this leads to debt, which is one of the main contributing factors in the inflation of an economy.
  12. I think the rate of inflation has more to do with the amount of greed that exists within the player base, not within the developers. Players of all MMO's are greedy, selfish, sons of *****. This isn't just common to ToR but every MMO. It just brings out the worst in people. For example, if somebody sold a... Jem Hadar Bug Ship on STO for example (I use STO because this is the best example of player greed at work), and its worth, according to Cryptic... 100,000 Energy Credits. That person then puts their own value on it and inflates the price of what they THINK it is worth... more then the guide price provided... because of whatever reason. That person then puts it on the market for about 100 Million, to which he is making a massive amount of profit and selling an item more then what its worth. The best and only solution is to allow the market to have a "natural crash" to bring prices down. The only way to do that is to NOT buy anything from the GTN, Auction House, Exchange... whatever. That way, items never sell and people get so desperate for money they drive prices down by insane reductions. However that only works in theory... unfortunately because of the "want" system of Capitialism and people never being satisfied with what they have, it will never happen.
  13. Funny, apply that and just replace Bioware with the word "Cryptic" and it completely applies.
  14. The Truth About STO - All these facts are true. - Blatent P2W Ships Outclassing Free/Previously Paid Vessels on the Zen Store. (I.E. The Recluse Carrier replacing the Atrox) to encourage people to pay for lockbox keys. - No significant development of PVP since launch or rebalance (DPS is king and so is the Jem Hadar Bug Ship (Also a lockbox P2W ship) - Complete bias towards tactical ships such as the Defiant. Science and Engineering HEAVILY outclassed by Tactical and their insane DPS boost. Science only useful for Sub-Nuc (only debuff ability in the game) and thats it. Engineers defunct. - Upcoming Romulan Faction was a blantent lie where you play non-imperial Romulan who are a bunch of colonists. - Ignoring the Star Trek fanbase by refusing to buff ships such as the Galaxy Class, an iconic ship which has been ruined by the this game. The upcoming D'Deridex has also been designed to be purposely weak because its a cruiser. - Refusing to fix bugs since launch because "fixing bugs does not generate profit and greed is eternal" - HUGE dilthium costs for little gain in Starbases, basically shafting small fleets in favour of larger ones. - Dilthium cap of 8k PER DAY - Meaning that you can get nothing useful. - Reputation system and a total of 4 STF's (Which have been split into ground and space, used to be just one and have a story but have now turned into a heartless grind) whereas ToR has many more Flashpoints. - Grind, Grind, Grind...
  15. No offense but you haven't been playing top level stuff yet, you will begin to notice it when you reach level 50. The game is largely a Chinese sweatshop, you grind and grind and get given peanuts in return. When somebody else could just buy their way to the top PvP'ers/PvE'ers in the game.
