  1. He does drop aggro from time to time, but yes... Gil is basically tank and spank, if the tank puts his back to a wall; and keeps him taunted. Everyone else should stay out of his AOE radius however to make it easier on the healer.
  2. They've already allowed jedi/sith to use alternate weapons to some extent, which I found ignorant. I see marauders carrying around non-lightsaber weapons.
  3. Alacrity may be "useful" to all, but the amount you need to be actually useful is plain ridiculous. So you'd sacrifice too much of your mitigation in order to have any amount of useful alacrity. As for accuracy, basically the same rule applies. While assassins/shadows can now use Maul/Shadow Strike while in front of a target with the correct skill tree... I've personally found the pre-ROTC rotations for assassins/shadows far more effective for maintaining threat. So a Maul/Shadow Strike to the face is only good for upping your tanking assassin/shadow's DPS while soloing, PVPing, and to help finish off mobs in PVE. But as a primary threat generation ability I personally think it fails.
  4. There needs to be an option to automatically accept crew skill mission rewards or automatically hide them (like in warzones) because having the mission reward window popup while trying to focus on a boss fight or even during a large trash pull can get your group killed, needlessly. However, it is also a waste of valuable time to not be able to run crew skill missions during flashpoints. So players should be able to either have the option to have rewards automatically accepted or have the mission reward screen just automatically hidden like in warzones.
  5. Yes, one of the Shadow's disable abilities has the same "spin kick" animation as Tumult. They also have a similar ability which requires a target to be disabled to use, but cannot be used in PvP due to target type restrictions.
  6. Laptops, gaming laptops in particular tend to have their air intake through the bottom. Which means that while those supposed notebook coolers can make all the claims in the world they want, but many of them are just poorly designed for the task. One of the easiest solutions is to find something like small wooden blocks (of equal size of course) and set your laptop up on them. Just to get your laptop directly off of your desk or the table you have it sitting on. This allows the laptop to actually pull air in from the surrounding area, which unless you're playing in an "oven" or a desert, the air is bound to be cooler than the temperature the CPU and GPU gets to while playing. Now this is by no means a perfect solution and having owned (and built desktops), the best you're probably going to notice is that your keyboard won't become a hot plate anymore. Which if it did before is an indicator of poor cooling and could lead to overheating issues. Optimally of course, someone should just build the darn things with built in liquid cooling systems. But I figure I might be more likely to win the lottery at this point than that happening. So until then, I'll stick to simple and easy fixes that work.
  7. Use the option to not show your head slot item.
  8. Knock backs, move targets away from the tank thus making harder for him/her to keep aggro on crowds. Personally as an assassin tank, I'd rather the group leave it to me to use my knock back to get crowds away from me. Knock backs aren't really for general use or adding extra DPS. Use them to knock mobs into pits and flat out kill them, which reduces crowds. But knocking a crowd all over an area makes it more difficult for a tank to keep aggro on multiple targets as it moves them out of his/her area effect taunt radius and out of the effect radius of other area effect abilities that can be used to hold aggro efficiently. And when it would look like it would be beneficial to knock away targets, it probably would have been a fight that group would have benefited more from crowd control to begin with. Thus eliminating the need for area taunts, and reducing the amount of mobs the group has to deal with upfront.
  9. If the two are equal in stats and the focus doesn't give any more combat oriented bonuses such as critical strike, surge rating, or power that your shield generator doesn't then I wouldn't see a need to switch the two items. I'd only switch to a focus if it provided greater bonuses or had more combat oriented bonuses, and I wasn't going to be using Dark Charge.
  10. It's area of effect is small and is centered on your target. When dealing with CC'd mobs, just pull single targets away.
  11. Unless it isn't functioning as intended, from what I can tell it is cumulative. And it's text does say 5 per rank. So rank 2 would be 10, rank 3 15, etc etc. So no it isn't a big gain, but small bonuses do add up.
  12. The Grand Inquisitor set and the Supreme Inquisitor sets contain orange belts and bracers. They of course only have the two slots, one for armor and one for mods...no enhancement slot.
  13. Power not really. You aren't a DPS class. Your focus is going to be Shield Rating, Absorption, and Defense. Don't waste mod slots by filling them with mods that give +Power (unless at your level it's the best thing available for +Endurance wise). You want to find that balance between Shield Rating (which means more attacks will be absorbed by your shield), Absorption (more damage will be absorbed by your shield), and defense (you'll be able to avoid more attacks in the first place).
  14. Darkness spec'd. I'm using Ashara for DPS. I switch to Talos for when I need to take out elites, since he is the best healer I have. The ship droid sucks. As for Khem, when I have to use him for quests; I just dump Ashara's gear on him. I don't need a tank, I'll tank things...I just use him for DPS. The only thing I keep up to date on him is I have a moddable vibroblade on him. So when I have extra commendations or extra credits lying around and find mods I want for him, I'll get stuff for it.
  15. I'm not even sure I can bring myself to actually wear it.
