  1. Honestly the gearing system was way better in 6.0. I feel being able to attain max iRating doing any content you liked was great. Gear sets were awesome too. I think it would have been much better to ADD more gear sets with new effects, and maybe sets that only dropped in operations would have an extra set bonus line with an added stat or effect when done on master or NiM for those looking for min maxxing and prestige items. I feel like they had a perfectly good system as a base to build off of. They could have added more sets with new effects, maybe allow Implants / Earpieces / Weapons to be set items so you could create unique builds based on 2 sets equipped with whatever effects. And even added Tactical's with new effects to change your gameplay further! I would have loved that kind of system. It baffles me how this new system seemed to be better in the eyes of who developed it, who seems to be completely detached from the game and its subscribers. Shame. I hope they can rework it back and build off of what they had already had in place, which was not a bad system at all, with more ways for players chasing difficult content/achievements to get prestige either through cosmetic rewards from those activities or slight stat boosts to those drops. Who knows though, at this point i just hope it can be salvaged but the little to no communication to the community after the hype prelaunch and launch of the game getting the reaction of the community has been disconcerting at the very least but at this point not even surprising.
  2. In terms of the Golden Age of storytelling quality, I meant KotET and KotFE were much higher quality at the very least you can tell at least there was time investment where the original class stories, which I do love, were about the same in story quality save for whichever of the classes you subjectively liked most (I liked Agent and Inquisitor the most myself). If the original stories writers also wrote every story after, with the quality investment similar to what KotET and KotFE were (in terms of theatric quality being more cinematic like and great for the story telling imo). At the end of the day what you like and don't like for story is subjective, but i feel it gets to a point where everyone can agree how lazy the investment for Quantity/Quality was for RotHC, SoR, Onslaught, Legacy of the Sith the only ones that showed effort were originals and KotET and KotFE. In my opinion. It's depressing because ultimately, if the story is somewhat bad, like i can forgive that if they are trying to give in quantity/quality, but that's also nonexistent. And even then, if the story is not sensible, and cohesive, with proper character building so you actually care about the characters similar to companions in the base game, then even bad story telling can only be tolerated for so long even if quality or quantity existed. Professionals should have their **** together though and be able to meet all of those expectations imo. It's a damn shame.
  3. So right from the get go I'll be getting into what has aggravated me with the horrible development decisions made this expansion but excluding a lot of other known issues as these I would still tolerate if my main concerns had not been so infuriating/severe. Those main aggravations being 2 primary things; 1. The Story The complete either laziness or inability to actually develop story that this game deserves. The golden age of Story for this game has been KOTET and KOTFE. Since those, there seems to have been just a complete lack of interest in good story telling or whoever was hired to create these stories has since been fired or left. Not only have the past 2 expansions story been utterly devoid of any reason to get emotionally attached to what I'd hoped would be good stories. Characters have no real character building, hard to do that in story that is a total of 2 hours (an hour for imperial side, an hour for republic). The story itself seems like a high school kid in theatre is writing it, kind of no real direction or vision of what he/she wants. And the fact it's so short is rage inducing having been so excited and hopeful for what it could have been. There is seemingly no effort or ability to put in the effort for a fully fleshed out, cohesive, captivating story.... WHERE IS EA why are they not investing in this game??? DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND PLAYERS SUPPORT A GOOD PRODUCT. Of course you will feel the product isn't worth investment when you continually shaft the game and players know there isn't any real support being put into the game. This game has such potential but it is utterly squandered by EA's lack of interest in making it great. A perfect example of a game that 180'd since leaving their producer who was in contract with them in my opinion is Bungie's Destiny 2. Since leaving Activision, the priorities in what the product needed was shifted from financial to the product itself. And over time you can now see that investment away from financial gain has not only given the game new life and content worth while, it has by proxy been a huge financial win for the company who does not need Activision to fund the game because the product is now GOOD. The disdain I hold for EA (And Activision frankly) is beyond words and is an entirely separate topic of discussion, but my disdain certainly, CERTAINLY is here for good reason. 2. End Game Gearing/Progression With the changes that were made in 6.0 I believe with the gearing system being mod upgrades over time until you reach the cap (306) and then investing in set items with beneficial buffs coupled with a new item called a Tactical. Now the tactical's still remain, but the set items and progression system are completely ruined to what they had been pre 7.0. Development could have built off the gearing system they already had (for the love of GOD DO NOT FIX WHAT IS NOT BROKE). Adding more new sets for 7.0, new tactical, maybe the ability to mix and match sets to create unique builds. The set items in combination with tactical and the path's you can take to increase your character level (Power) being able to do whatever content you liked was already perfect (imagine how much better it'd be with regularly released new FP's / Raids on a 3-6 month basis and expansion yearly. WOULD BE SO GOOD). I commend developers who want to take risks and come up with something new/better, who are wanting to make improvements to the game in new ways. But honestly the "new" gearing system seems lazy, not revolutionary. Not even slightly worse or better. Unequivocally worse and bad to what was there before 7.0. I am dumbfounded by the changes that have been made and how poorly those changes are. There are good additions to 7.0, but those are completely overshadowed by the failures, and those failures frustrating players are multiplied by the lack of content and investment the game is getting, shafting the game and its player base. Your Fans. Your support. I PRAY this game can make a turn around and get the investment needed to make this game great. It still can be and not doing so is so foolish of EA. They are blinded by quarterly earnings and either have no interest to begin with or have no ability to understand "A Good Product Means Customers Means Profit." because the financial department is running the company and the product has slowly degraded over time. Seemingly their Motto is "Most profit for Least Amount of Effort". My brother and I loved this game, the memories we had, and the time invested in it while it was good/okay, knowing the games potential and where it could go kept us playing. Now we have both lost all hope. This is year 5 of a severe content drought now coupled with absolutely horrible game changes. I cannot believe there are more then 5 people in development working on this game. And if the developers are purely only able to do what EA allows them to do and their hands are tied then I truly feel horrible for them and my hearts go out (I hope for their sake that is the case).
  4. Yeah this is so annoying considering what a small change this would be but how many players would appreciate it being in part a RPG GAME TOO!! Like I don’t understand if BW (or if it’s EA) is unwilling to invest in fixing the games performance and combat fluidity issues and bugs littering the game, there seems no excuse to do this kind of thing. Just depressing this game has SO MUCH POTENTIAL to be great, far better then even Jedi: Fallen Order if it was maintained properly and updated with REAL content releases. The expansions are smaller then a WoW patch update or even less then diablo patch updates....... granted Onslaught added a LOT of wonderful changes BioWare and I commend you and am extremely grateful. if SWTOR got the same attention and development WoW did it easily would be competing in the ESO / WoW / FFO range easily. My main gripe is I just love this game and love Star Wars and the hardest part is seeing a game that has Jesus potential be squandered and neglected, SO depressing. If it’s ea, I feel horrible for the BioWare team that they can’t work their magic with this game. IF it’s also a BioWare team problem, then that’s far more depressing but I hope it’s the latter if anything.
  5. It doesn’t reset until you turn in the mission after weekly reset for your previous weeks conquest cap mission.
  6. I noticed the difference of marketing for this ‘expansion’ Onslaught. It’s made me a bit uneasy I guess, but so does the game itself, Engine / Bugs. At this point I’d rather Engine optimizations and tuning with bug fixes instead of an expansion... normally I’d hope for both but, yeah... Odd the new expansion has had little to no advertisements that I’ve seen? No cinematic magic like KotFE and KotET got. EA must really not believe maintaining a product would work wonders for the game an player base. Forget content for a second. I know countless players and RL friends who played who left because of the frusterating bugs littering the game and performance problems.... And I know many of them would come back just for the PvP if they new bug fixes and Engine optimizations were coming. Just baffles me that EA sees mediocre ‘content’ updates with REALLY little to no maintenance in terms of bug fixing and performance, as a fruitless way to keep a player base. But somehow they see putting most effort into the in game store on a month to month basis (far more then the game itself gets) as the best way to keep money flowing. Steve Job’s famous saying rings true once again. I’d bring up Anthem but, not really worth the bother.... This game is the best story driven mmo to date in my opinion even with the countless issues surrounding it. Horribly depressing seeing a game with so much potential be squandered. Yet another game EA soils, and either the SWTOR BioWare Team doesn’t care anymore, or they aren’t capable of making this game what it should be, in terms of simply a good product. But yeah, baffles me EA’s “quick score” method of revenue earned for their games is seen as more lucrative. I mean there’s so many examples of other games success not using the same MO EA has become addicted to using, that are clear examples of why what EA has been doing to the games they produce isn’t working. At least in the long term. I still love this game, as hard as it to ignore the faults, even hard to get the bitter taste of EA out of my mouth, it’s a great game at its core in terms of the stories. But **** man. Sucks there is no more passion in making good products anymore in the gaming scene whether by the fault of the developers or the production company. Hope things make a turn for good change in this game, I believe it could make a comeback, especially if players returning could see “Damn they finally fixed 7 year old bugs and the engine seems to be running far better, smoother gameplay, better overall performance...”, and new players not being scared away by the seeming lack of caring by the development. Hope things can make can change for the better! Apologies for spelling. Fat thumbs on a phone is my weakness.
  7. Awesome tyvm I appreciate the info! Love DoT specs so will def roll plasma in pave android tactics for pvp, ty again for the Info!!
  8. Awesome thank you! What about for pvp? How are the doing on that front?
  9. How is Vang DPS Now days? Haven’t played in a coupl years so... curious which of the 2 specs is best right now or if they’re close in DPS. Wanting to know which I should invest in with gearing for stat wise so I don’t find out I’m using the mediocre spec and have to completely alter my stat pool... Thank you in advance for any help and info, and please if you’re just guessing, just don’t comment!! I’m wanting solid info since guides are 10 patches outdated... THANKYOU!! - JediBoo
  10. Lol no they won’t especially after the nerf, you’re lying to yourself or in denial.. both the same thing. Fully top tier geared dps will be more efficient always. Whoever you’ve dps’d on you’re either not fully geared as you think (including optimized stat pool), or you aren’t honestly as good at whatever dps class you’re wanting to try to play lol. And as before, not talking completely solo, healing companion is included in what I was talking about. Unless you hadn’t read that. I’m on star Forge server characters name is Marduk’Enkî, one of them anyway, I can prove to you what I’m saying if you want, my fully geared Mara dps to any of your tanks in which can pull xNumber of NPCs and how quickly the mob is killed with comps out. I mean unless you know of some video of a non-baddy dps and tank who has already proven the point you’re trying to make, and since after the tank nerf? Mentioning your comment in my guild chat got some laughs though because it’s simply not true when comp is with you healing.
  11. You will always kill big mobs faster as a FPS assuming you have a healer comp. and assuming you keep your mods up to date while you level, I could pull up to 10-15 adds with my rank 15-30 companion and melt through the entire group all on my slinger, Mara, Vang, sorc, and shadow dps... you will do better as a tank pulling big mobs while leveling if you don’t know solid rotations and mitigation as a dps:.. At end game solo play dps with healer comp will and should always be pulling large mobs and killing them all quicker then a tank now or the dps is doing something seriously wrong...
  12. Your argument regarding the tanks dps pre patches seem like a grasp to make some kind of point that really has none? They needed a nerf even though they were half dps damage? now they are a third in some cases a fourth? Where was the need? PvP? PvE? Why do you think they needed to do less dps then they already did? It was mediocre, now it’s horrible?
  13. I stopped playing a couple years ago to just wait for content releases to come out which I went through two years worth of content on 2 toons in 11hours (across 3 days) a couple weeks ago since coming back... but I digress... what patch was it that this meet happened to tanks so I could look at what the specific changes were? And how’s the devs communication with the community in the forums? Any plans on more balancing for tanks in the future regarding their damage? The devs change of tank DPS due to PvP (lets be frank, they said tanks were over performing and we all know it was just the PvP cry babies who scream and wail the loudest on forums like a day job) without the ability to, due to their own negligence in coding, keep PvP and PvE class stat pooles seperate is the most frustrating thing when nerfs like this happen as a result of PvE or PvP and subsequently affecting both though completely unecessary for one or the other... Their nerfing of tanks globally because of PvPers hating the skank tank OP dps with survivability (yes the hate was warranted but now tanks all around have suffered because of the whine..) is like nerfing healers healing power globally because of PvP issues and now healing in PvE has lost its sense of viability and power. Yes power is hugely important. You can say tanks aren’t suppose to do damage, which is extremely ignorant of the purpose of wielding a weapon (what’s the point then?), but players play mmo rpg games expecting all roles to give them a sense of great POWER, have awesome looking armor, and an amazing story. SWTOR has nailed story and I kowtow to biowares job with the story, it’s amazing and good enough to where I come back time and time again to experience it as a Star Wars fan to the extreme... SWTOR has nailed awesome looking armor (albeit limited to the garbage engine BioWare created from remnants of the Hero Engine...). BUT when nerfs like this happen to a tank(s), who before the nerf was already nothing close to dps damage (PvE), and any other nerfs that affect both PvE and PvP when they shouldn’t, it HUGELY AFFECTS that classes sense of power and viability. It may all still work fine when it comes to numbers. But games are more about just numbers. It’s about feel. Excitement of your classes abilities (both class abilities and ability to do/take/heal damage). Authenticity. The fantasy of your class. And when changes are made that clearly weaken a class spec to the point of reaching dissatisfaction with your characters performance though it can still do it “job” is what ruins the feel of excitement and power. Balance doesn’t and will never exist. It’s a comfort word for PvPers and dps parse competition junkies (much love, no disrespect I enjoy parsing and competing...). My hope is BioWare figures out how to keep PvE and PvP seperate. Keep PvE feeling the power and authenticity of their class and roles whilst keeping PvP as “balanced” as they(BioWare) are willing to invest in doing so with what devs are left maintaining SWTOR... Threat generation is about half of what it use to be due to the damage nerf (in terms of damage done and threat generated against DPS’s damage and their threat generated, assuming both are geared) in PvE. Which is fine I mean I like the challenge of competing for threat, that’s not the issue, I hate feeling significantly weaker and armor upgrades don’t feel as valuable now at least in a “I’m growing in power” way.... I would have way rathered a threat generation nerf then a damage nerf, but that wouldn’t ever happen because this nerf was done due to tank damage overperformance in PvP, nothing to do with threat. So again, why the hell are PvP and PvE lumped together (rhetorical question)? Why after 7 years has this not changed? Just depressing especially knowing that it’s unlikely any developer maintains forums will even engage the conversation. It seems they either don’t care and this is a part time job for them and that’s it. Not a passion. Not a work in the arts. Just a normal flip the burger and keep the customer happy job. Which BioWare use to be different before they made the deal with the devil EA being bought out back in 2007... OR ea is not giving the SWTOR BioWare team enough resources to help this game and it’s community. Either or, just depressing... Just my thoughts and feelings about this and many more things being projected (things regarding game and service issues) into the conversation, but feels good atleast to write it down... not looking for debate either if it’s going to be about a insulting dìck measuring intellect contest... but disagreeing with me and your point of view respectfully is welcome and I pray BioWare sees the OP at the very least... also anything I say in terms of how classes feel is completely subjective and my opinion, you may feel differently and I respect that completely! Sorry as well for any typos, fat thumbs on phone pad... grammar police you’ve been warned and may be triggered (sorry this warning is at the end of the post).
  14. So started playing my tanks again and was reminded again how sucky it is in PvE and solo as a tank trying to do almost mediocre damage... why... I mean if skank tanks sucked cockatoo’s in PvP I get that, but the fact it was a global nerf and you don’t have separate stat pools is mind boggling to me >_> to each their own in successful mmo’ing though I guess
