  1. I got the a similar problem. I ran launcher repair and still didn`t work. I uninstalled and tried to download the game for a fresh reinstall and now after I sign into the launcher, it says on the launcher screen bottom left corner: ``ST initializing`` for about 30 seconds then I get this error displayed on the launcher screen: ``This application has encountered an unspecified error. Please try this patch again.`` At the moment I am paying for a subscription to a game I can`t play. **EDIT: I decided to call SWTOR support line, figured as a subscriber I am paying for that service so might as well use it. Good thing I did! The lady on the line called Jade listened carefully to what I had to say, she did not make any stupid suggestions, and she sent me clear steps that resolved my problem quickly and efficiently. Now, in the gaming community we tend to only speak out mostly when something is bad, I feel that SWTOR support deserved some credit for doing it right. Anyway, here is the solution I got, please keep in mind that just because it applied to my problem, it does not mean it will work on yours. I hope this helps. -- The new Launcher uses a streaming mode for all new installs. This will you to begin playing prior to downloading the entire game. If you are having issues with launcher (either patching or full download), please do these steps: 1. Make sure that neither SWTOR nor Launcher is running. 2. Make sure that neither brwc.exe nor brsptsvc.exe is running. *For steps 1 and 2, Task Manager should be open so please click Ctrl + Alt + Delete. *Once Task Manager is open you can check if SWTOR or Launcher is running under Applications. *You can check if brwc.exe nor brsptsvc.exe is running under Processes. 3. Change the following line in the launcher.settings file (found in the SWTOR install directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic): From…, “bitraider_disable” : false…to…, “bitraider_disable” : true *Right-click the SWTOR game icon and choose "Open file location". *Open launcher.setting file by right-clicking it and choosing "open with... notepad/wordpad". *If you do not have "open with..." option then open a notepad then drag and drop the launcher.settings file to it. 4. Delete the following files and directory from their SWTOR directory (this will prevent SSN from doing a repair and simply download from scratch which will be marginally quicker): Folders: Assets BitRaider swtor Movies Files: Delete files that starts with assets_swtor_ Example: assets_swtor_main.version assets_swtor_test_en_us.version assets_swtor_test_en_us.version Thank you, Jade Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Customer Service
  2. I don't have anything that tells me to speak to Lana to pick up the mission for this flashpoint. And the Lana on Odesson does not give me any quests. Does that mean I missed something? Can I skip talking to Lana and just go straight to the terminal to pick up Solo mode to continue the story? I am lost at this point... **Update: I used the terminal in my ship to continue to the next step! issue resolved.
  3. I will start with a little bit about myself. I have been in this community since the early Star Wars: Galaxies days. Over the years, I came to call it my home in a galaxy far far away. I moved to SWTOR during beta testing and enjoyed the game as part of this wonderful group of people since day one. At the moment, I am one of THE JEDl ORDER's Elders and Lorekeeper. If you are looking to join a guild where you have the support and company of a large organized group of people then look no further. This is the right place for you. I hope you will join us and make this your home for many years to come... ~ Jeggo
  4. Join THE JEDl ORDER community, we have the best cookies In addition to the RP Events, Flashpoints, Operations and Warzones etc... we also have a well organized Galactic Star Fighter corps for all you Pilot types! Beware that seats are limited, so apply now before all the squadrons are full.
  5. +25% Requisition Boost can be a (Major 3hrs/Minor 1hr) consumable item, sold on the cartel market and found in packs. Further more, a +10% guild Requisition Bonus like the ones we have for XP and Reputation is also suggested. In fact, introducing double Requisition weekends will raise interest in the new expansion and encourage more people to step into the GSF Hangar and enjoy the new content.
  6. A mail box int he Combat Training section on the fleet (Both factions!) A crew skills vendor droid aboard the players ships, this could be unlocked through the Cartel market. (or the items could be added to the existing droid vendor.) A "Queue Pop" alert app. Should work for both PvP and Group Finder, and it should have a countdown timer as well. Maybe some nice Star Wars music options for the alert. With the level cap increase and the addition of two new companions, it is time to allow the deployment of six companions to crew skills tasks.
  7. I've been talking to a couple of other guild mates on voice chat and we came up with a few suggestions of things that BioWare could make to fill the period of time the player spends waiting in queue. I am not sure about the rest of the players, but we spend a LOT of our game time just standing there waiting, its boring and rather annoying. We can't really go questing or do anything else, since whatever we are doing will be interrupted when the queue pops. Mini-games: Something that we could save our progress in when the queue pops and we can continue later after we come back from our Warzone/Flashpoint/PvP/Ops to queue up again. Some kind of a reward here would be appropriate. (Unique Items, Credits, Cartel Coins, XP... etc) Disable the AFK-logout if a player is waiting in queue. Some kind of a text message service or a smart phone App that tells us when the queue pops. This we way, we could log-in, queue up then do whatever we want to do until the queue pops. We get a text from Star Wars telling it that our queue had popped and how much time we've got left on the timer. Less people will be missing the queue this way, and it will give the player the freedom to do whatever they want while waiting in queue without losing their turn! Of course, this could be given away as a premium service to subscribers or sold through the Cartel Market.

  9. - Short version: If you just reported someone for harassment and they are in your ignore list, the group finder should not put you in the same group as them! - Long version: (I'm terribly sorry about how long this is, none the less, here it is for those who care...) The game needs more tanks they said, so I leveled up a Guardian tank. I finally reached level 43 and the group finder thought it would be cool to send me to the [Flashpoint: Red Reaper] for my daily. It was my first time doing this instance as a tank. In the group, I had a well geared level 49 DPS bonehead who was pulling before I do, breaking all the CC and doing AoE to hold all the aggro off six level 45 strong mobs! Since my AoE taunts works only once every 45 sec, it was inevitable that we wiped a few time. That's when the healer started blaming me while shouting and cursing in group chat. When a vote to kick me out of the group failed (the other DPS was kinda supportive,) the healer started calling me all kind of colorful names. Boy did that escalate quickly. Being a mature player, I did not respond to his abuse. I simply realized that this was turning into a mission impossible and Tom Cruise was definitely not in this group. So, I reported the healer for harassment, put him on my ignore list and quit the group. My hope was that they would find a higher level tank and keep going. Little did I know that the group fell apart when I left. After a short time, I queued up again, and guess what? The group finder decided that it was wonderful idea to put me in the same group as that same healer, yes. The one that I just reported for harassment and is sitting pretty in my ignore list! Fed up with my alleged "horrible tanking" the healer declined the group, and we were put on top of the queue again. Guess what happened next? That's right, we were put in group together AGAIN! the healer declined once more, and the same thing happened right after. The third time, I felt bad for those two DPS as they are most likely have been waiting in queue for a long time, so I declined and queued up again after a few minutes... only to be faced with the same problem! Finally, I logged off in frustration... BioWare, I rest my case...
  10. In my opinion, a big part of playing an Agent and a Sniper is to strike from far and to try to go through the fight somewhat unnoticed. The big red screen and the flashing lights are really counter productive in that regard. They serve to single out the sniper and make them more visible, almost like a big neon sign that says I'm here and I am the reason why your hit points are dropping so quickly, kill me please. (Those of us that play warzones PvP will know exactly what I'm talking about.) I suggest that a change in the graphics is in order. Lose the flashing lights and change the defensive screen to something less visible, or at least make that an option through the Cartel Market. The issue applies to the Entrench skill as well. I've never played a Gunslinger but I would imagine that some of those who do would like to see this changed as well. Cheers to the guys at BioWare for all your hard work, keep it up.
  11. This is a re-post of some ideas that my guild leader Orion came up with. He posted it somewhere else on these forums, but I think the suggestions box is a good home for it. We are the THE JEDl ORDER community of guild, 5 guilds and about 1500 members total. So this is a big deal for us as you may guess. 1. Inter/intra guild communication. A. Guild Email. This NEEDS to be implemented for large guild communities. In game ability to email the entire guild community would help with large scale organization and communication, especially for guilds with active populations at server cap. B. Guild Alliances: We would like the ability to form an "Alliance" with a guild, and in effect MERGE their guild chats. Now, we understand the /cjoin method, but... frankly... it sucks. A more functional and easier to use option would be to allow guilds to "ally" with one another and merge their guild-chats as an option. 2. Guild Projects/Halls = Now, while I fully am pro-player housing, I understand BioWare is not really into it. At least not yet. However, I would like to ask that we guilds have a private area to do ceremonies, have tournaments, meet and greets and social events without being harassed by the inevitable 13 year old troll who is starving for attention from his mommy but can only get it in the form of harassment reports in game. If we need to, we could buy &/or craft a structure, or whatever giving us a place to call home. 3. Display Ranks. - We would like the option to have guild ranks displayed as a title of sorts. Now, while we acknowledge that many guilds would abuse this by naming granting titles to people like "YourMomsPimp" and the like, we would suggest making guild titles only visible to .... guild members. 4. Raise the cap on membership. We have THE JEDl ORDER guild at server cap - with all members having logged in within the last 30 days or so. We need room for more members. He also mentioned guild war, but that one I disagree with. None the less I'll post it here: We can go to open world PVP zones, or flag /pvp all the time, but it would be nice if we could get an option to guild war, especially both inter and intra-faction Sub-note, it would be nice to have guild war RANKING systems as well.
  12. I fully* agree with what Orion is saying. This list of ideas can greatly enhance the game experience for everyone. *With the small exception of the Guild War idea. Hey, we can't agree on everything, right? lol - Jeggo
  13. The CE vender needs to get new stuff. When the game was first launched we were told that they will be getting new exclusive items added regularly. This has not been the case at all! BioWare, did you forget about the promises you made to your CE customers?
