  1. It is there but it doesn't feel relevant I guess. You really can ignore every multiplayer aspect of the game as you go through it. Should that be how an MMO is designed? I am not ranting against SWTOR, I am enjoying it for the most part, I just see why people would be discouraged.
  2. I think the reason people say this is because you don't really have to do any of the things you mentioned to progress through the game, unless you actively seek out multiplayer content you will never see it. Whether that is poor design or lack of player initiative I have no idea
  3. How do we go about finding information like this? Trial and error? If you had no commented on this post then there would have been a lot of guesswork and unconfirmed information floating around.
  4. But I think his point was to counter my point, and my point is agreeing with your point?
  5. I believe a major issue is the fact that cast timers and visual cues on screen are not representative of the actual damage and activity going on in the background. Skills and what not exist and are active beyond their indicated time periods.
  6. As a trooper it is impossible to go by the visual elements on screen. At level 30 almost every channeled ability I have doesn't do damage until well into it's cast and then continues to do damage after the channel is finished. I cannot come up with a single possible reason why they thought this was a good idea. My main gripe here can be seen perfectly in the mortar volley skill.
  7. I believe a lot of this might have to do with the dev's desire to make combat a visual experience. I do not remember who but I know someone made a comment along the lines of "you shouldn't have to look away from your character". I believe one of their design goals was to make the animations and effects representative of the actions the characters were performing. I believe they failed at all of this. You are still stuck looking at your hotbars the entire time.
  8. Maybe the combat log was left out in some attempt to hide this massive error?!?!?!? CONSPIRACY....
  9. What an amazing way to explain it. Adding that line to my arsenal immediately.
