  1. Agreed. GW pvp put the rest to shame. Back then, it was all about skill.
  2. You're not going to have any control over what a pug does or what their composition is, but I'd suggest queuing with guildies who communicate on mumble/vent/TS so that at least half your team works towards objectives. Barring that, try and suggest some strategies while everyone is waiting for the timer to count down and hope for the best. I queue solo, so I know what you mean about players working towards their own agendas and not the team's, but a few words at the start of a match will sometimes get through their heads. Identify the team players and try to group up with them. Btw, it's not just the imps that play this way. I've seen these kind of players on both factions.
  3. I did only the amount I needed for the black leather leggings (Imp side). They're hot. The Hot Shot title was ancillary.
  4. Funny you should mention this /emote business. I know you're referring to players being dinks in warzones, but something happened a while ago that I've always wondered about, but wasn't keen on asking here because it just seemed so bizarre. A particular player on my server used to /emote laugh during matches after he/she killed another player. I used to think it was just petty epeening, but during one particular match, I noticed my own toon /emoting laugh, even though I didn't use an emote (and never have in pvp). I mentioned it to a friend who had queued with me, and he said he noticed a number of us emoting, and was shocked that I'd had. I know I didn't use an emote, so am curious; was there ever a time when /emotes were automatically scripted without us calling for them, or is it possible that the player in question was using some weird hack? Coincidently, that player is no longer around and I haven't seen my toon emote since. This is a serious query - has anyone else experience this unusual occurrence?
  5. Have had this happen in a Voidstar as well. We were several minutes into the game when suddenly the Huttball announcer sounded off and the game was over. Both teams were even (according to the match scoreboard), but we had just capped the second door so it's possible several members of the opposing side dropped. Still, I've been on teams where a couple members dropped early and the game didn't end prematurely for us, even though we were 6 vs. 8 for a spell. Feels like a random bug.
  6. I wish BW would start a "Hall of Shame" thread and post every player's name/server who has been suspended for cheating. Not only would it allow the honest players to know who to look out for (and report again if necessary), but we can choose to not party with them, or pvp against them when we find ourselves on opposing sides. If BW doesn't want to stop the cheating, humiliate the cheaters.
  7. QFT. TTK in this game was ridiculous, especially for certain classes. Good players will adapt and move on.
  8. And this is what most of us who are familiar with your guides/etc. appreciate. I can't say I always enjoyed facing off against your teams in Rift, but I always learned something from the encounter. Thanks for all your helpful input, Taugrim.
  9. He played a warrior early on and provided some very useful insights/strategies on how to play one well. I mostly encountered his Cleric in WZ, which I think became his main pvp-toon after they increased the ranks from 6 to 8. I wouldn't say he was the best pvper in Rift, but he had a calm, rational way of explaining things, never trash talked, and gave other players their due when he encountered good ones. I don't think you have to be a pvp-pro to contribute to the pvp-community, and he more than most was willing to do so.
  10. Epic story. A mature individual would have laughed it off after reading your /say, or responded with a witty comeback. This guy clearly embraces the Dark Side.
  11. Assuming you weren't scrolled up to a previous game, wrong announcer (Huttball) in a Voidstar WZ. Was there audible along with it? Would have been funny to have them announce "that's how it's done!" when someone was kb'd off the bridge.
  12. I've found referring to the side turrets as "snow" and "grass" to be less ambiguous, and the majority of my server knows exactly which one you're referring to.
  13. Wouldn't you be considered a back-fill in that match, and lose any valor/creds you accumulated during the previous match? On a related note - I've often been stuck behind the door and received the warning that I will be removed from the match if I don't leave the spawn point. During these occasions, the wait seems inordinately long (certainly longer than normal), and wonder if the timer in Huttball isn't bugged (the only map I've had it happen in).
  14. Resist the urge to take advantage of your good fortune? People don't have to cap just because they can, especially when they know it's a bug. These were 50's, so no way that jugg can claim ignorance.
  15. I did. Was surprised everyone kept focusing on that one stealther, when clearly it was the jugg who planted the bomb from the other side of the door.
