  1. Pot, meet kettle. The notion that the OP companions were fine, because you could either not use them, or cripple them is foolishness. It's a false choice. I want my companions to contribute to my gameplay, not trivialize it, and I shouldn't have to fiddle around with their abilities to do that.
  2. Unsubscribing, but not because of the companion "nerf" It's because of the dismaying lack of professionalism demonstrated by this whole 4.0 debacle. The initial buff to companions was not well thought out, and definitely not adequately tested How could BW have missed the glaringly obvious fact that they had made companions strong enough to trivialize the game? Now we have the "fix", which is again, was not well thought out nor adequately tested. Why would you fix this before fixing the bugs that are also related to this??? I am referring to lv65 comps losing almost all defensive stats, and the unclear relationship between equipped comp weapons and actual comp effectiveness. There are several threads pointing these bugs out, and these should have been addressed before attempting a balance pass. A balance that should not have been needed if adequate testing had been done on 4.0 in the first place.
  3. This idea only has merit if the game itself is fixed first. Make this as an option for the folks who don't want anything but the storylines, and fix the game for everyone else. It is fairly obvious what BW intended with the 4.0 changes, but some of it was ill-conceived and poorly executed
  4. The problem is that many of the people unhappy with the current game also care about those things. Challenging gameplay enhances, rather than detracts from that experience. I see no reason whatsoever to continue to pay a subscription for what has devolved into a choose-your-own adventure experience, with little or no gameplay value left.
  5. In it's current state, this "game", and I use that term extremely loosely, isn't very interactive at all.
  6. These "suggestions" are, to put it mildly, foolish. This was billed as a BW MMORPG. BW RPGs have as a salient feature companions To suggest that in order to enjoy the game, players should play without their companions is broken thinking. Fix the companions, so that the game can be played as originally intended.
  7. Close, but no. I started playing SWTOR to PLAY through an epic SW story. Emphasis on PLAY. In the past, entirely too much of that story was locked behind raiding barriers, or too easily over-leveled as to be made trivial. While the raiding part of that issue has been mostly dealt with, and level sync HAD the potential to fix the over-leveling issue, what KOTFE has done for me instead is to destroy the PLAY portion of the reason I enjoyed SWTOR. Don't misunderstand, just because I haven't played any of the stories through to their conclusion, that doesn't mean that I have never seen them. If that's all I or any else wants, there are numerous FREE ways to see that for each and every class.
  8. Started playing at launch. Believe it or not, I have NEVER finished ANY of the class stories, not because I don't enjoy that aspect of the game, but because I have long been critical of the way that BW-Austin actually handled that part of the game, and my legacy level is negligible. My wife and I decided to re-up for a month to see what all the fuss was about with KOTFE. I had seen with some dismay the apparent face-rollification of the actual gameplay, but wanted to reserve final judgement until we actually tried it for ourselves. To make the comparison as "valid" as possible, we also started with fresh characters. While the previous leveling experience could definitely get tiresome, especially while trying to gear multiple sets of companions, what has happened now cannot seriously be described in any other way but broken. AND FOR GOODNESS SAKES SHUTUP WITH THE "IF YOU DON'T LIKE 'EM, DON'T USE 'EM" talk. That's plain and simple nonsense. Progression other than raiding, which we do not enjoy, has lost all meaningful value. While I believe that I understand what BW was trying to do, what they ended up doing was destroying all gameplay aspects other than raiding, and choose-your-own adventure cutscenes. That is not enough to warrant any kind of regular monies from me. We will be cancelling our subs, and going preferred if we continue to play at all. We have a substantial cache of cartel coins from our previous subtime, so I don't see us spending any more money on this game in it's current broken state
  9. I would swap out the Win7 Pro for Win7 Home Premium. For your purposes, it is highly unlikely that you would need Professional. I would then use the savings to step up to an i5 quad-core CPU
  10. No and no. After telling us a fix was coming, they then said it's too difficult All involved deserve continued excoriation for letting this happen in the first place, and also for the years long misleading of the JK community. The least they can do after all this mess is to put the JK creation screen armor om the CM.
  11. No one cares what they call it internally or externally. We just want the armor as shown in the character create screen, because Valiant Jedi is not it.
  12. After the debacle of the permanently hooded JKs at launch, the broken promises of a fix that have persisted for two years now, the very least that BW can do at this point is to release this armor set to the CM.
  13. This is not progress, if anything, it's regression. We've gone from acknowledgment of the issue over a year ago, to a vague promise that it would be addressed after 1.2, and then another vague statement of how difficult it is, followed by vague mutterings of astonishment that this issue hasn't gone away, to hood down armors only via the CM, and now, we've been "heard" After over a YEAR, color me unimpressed.
  14. Agreed on all counts. If you can up your budget just a little, I'd go so far as to aim for the GTX650 (not the GTX650Ti) Edited to add Amazon link http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-1024MB-Graphics-01G-P4-2650-KR/dp/B00966IU4M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362153404&sr=8-1&keywords=geforce+650
  15. If you don't like reading these complaints, do what I do. Don't read threads that you don't give two craps about, like PvP balance threads, or raiders whining about gear. See what I did there?
