  1. LFG tool will not increase the amount of tanks and healers available. You may have the option to queue and do your things, which in many thread people actually mentioned it that you want to use your time wisely. Which is fine, but it will not shorten the wait time. Due to this, people will probably ask for Dual-Spec.. or even Adv-Class respec. If they do this they have to think of another loot rule cause it WILL cause issues. Hell it already causes conflict for companion loot, vendor loot and so on. Those people who are actually forming groups as a guild will pretty much have no impact having LFG tool or not, since they don't actually pug much. The very sentences when you see a Post on WoW forums writing about their awfull experience during the LFG tool is usually followed by "Guild Group" or "DO it with friends". Makes sence doesn't it? But if you are actually doing with them you don't need a LFG to begin with. I will not write down my experience in the LFG tool. It had more bad than good. But that is as many say "Thats your experience not mine". My opinion is no more important than anyone else. It could be only me, but whenever I form up a group be it Heroic 2/4 or Flashpoint, and I finally get a group together (or not) I always try to make the group a success by trying to communicate with others. Sure that is true aswell with LFG tool, however you also have the other aspect of "What the hell, I will drop this group and look for another". As a DPS thats really not much of an option since you know how awfull it is to wait for a long time for another group to be available. As a tank and healer not so much. This, has been said countless time so I won't go any further. But you cannot deny the logic behind it. Did these problems existed before the LFG? Yes it did. But also it did existed the value of your reputation in your server. (this will not be much of an issue if it was server wide tool). Did tanks leave dungeons pre-LFG. Yes, but not to the extent of 1 wipe = leave. At least they had more tolerance. I could suggest an improvement that may be easy to implement. Basically whenever you accept a Heroic 2/4 mission or a Flashpoint mission let the system ask you if you want to put your LFG flag on, if possible to insert the quest/flashpoint name aswell. What does this help? Well at least for those people who want to start a group has an easier time. Finally, would I want a LFG tool like wow? Only to a certain extent. I can live without it, I have played FFXI for 10 years which used the exact same lfg system SWTOR has, I can live with what I got now. Not comfortable but works if everyone else start using them. Should LFG tool gets implemented, just to form up group automatically and server wide only. I know about the queues, just look at lvl 50 bracket PVP. At the very least you will start recognizing people in your server, instead of a random person every single group which you will never group again. If you like your group mate... maybe you can add your friend list, or even invite in your guild if he/she is guildless. On cross server, you can't really do that.
  2. Republic: Liked Coruscant Disliked Balmorra (the sole reason is... TOO MANY LIFTS! I remember as Lift planet)
  3. With my 50 sage I think I still got the very last 4 man in Belsavis, a few 2/4man on Voss, and I just arrived in Corellia. (I hit 50 in Voss) Am planning to go back and finish them off. There were simply too few people on each planet. This was in mid January. I am in guild, and not many were around my level eighther so I moved on. Will come back to complete it though, it usually gives good rewards. And only in one occasion I had teamed up with a guildy. The rest were done in PuG. With my Bounty Hunter I managed to do every heroic quests up till Tatooine. This char is not in a guild, and did all in a PuG. Could be my selrver. It is harder to find groups on bonus heroic missions, specially had trouble with alderaan since you basically finish the planet around 34-36 (varies), and it doesn't start untill 38, and the last heroic 4 is level 41. There are people in there yes but not the right level.
  4. Well I played WoW and I can tell you how WoW's LFD has damaged the community slowly over time. As many expressed their feeling in the needs of LFD in this game, WoW once had this argument aswell. Not enough time, not enough class to do XYZ dungeons or their dailies except with guildies. Yes I have been there, sitting in major cities looking for group calls in general chat (well more like LFG chat but not server wide). The LFD was introduced 2 patches after they implemented the Dual Spec system. Don't get me wrong it was a very nice tool and it did just what people were asking. However by the time has passed, people gradually started to change. Since each LFD rewarded badges, later on to points in SW probably are commendations. People will start to ask for efficiency, speed, to get more loot / points per hour. And with this people will start acting rude, tank or healer threatening to leave, dps queue being long etc. The whole reason they made the LFD system cross server is due to compensate the lack of tanks and healers. Now you can see the LFD tool wow has, and its a total chaos. You will be very lucky to find a good friendly group on LFD. Sure there are some options on using the general chat to find people, but how many will come? Many posters has already stated that once people will get used to the LFD tool's convenience they will not go back. So the "don't use it if you don't like it" will not work. Not unless you got a bunch of friends around your level around your play time and playing similar pace as you are available. The convenience tool has now turned into instant gratification tool, where people seeks flawless efficiency and speed for their needs. For a reason the term "Wrath Babies" or "Wotlk Genre" was born in wow after LFD tool was introduced. Now its a mess, the chance of grouping with the same people again with LFD are very very slim. People will not be responsible for their actions due to this. Ninjas will start to rise. I mean... just look at the WoW forums and their topics. Some said that LFD tool but non cross-server. Which is also what I had in mind too. But the queue time will be long for those classes that are abundant vs the key classes that are required. Basically tanks and healers will have a fast queue time, and dps will have much longer queues. Even with cross server, depending on your level of course but lets say at 85? I had a queue varying from 20-45minuits while as a tank its almost instant, and healer was like 5minuit tops. Thats not much different from what we have now without LFD tool isn't it? And I can already see people asking for Dual Spec because of this. And then there will be issues on looting, of course it will not be as exagerating as WoW but there will be I am sure, in conjunction with wanting loot for their companions. I am pretty sure those who are against LFD tool already have this experience in WoW or other game with this system. For those who haven't used the LFG tool we currently got, I advise to try and use it. The times I open the who list and I usually only see like 1-2 people with the tag. TL;DR version. LFD tool was a wonderful addition in wow, but in the end it turned the community into a tool seeking Perfect efficiency, speed, and reward and kick those who doesn't meet their criteria and has no negative effect on being rude due to cross-server.
  5. Not sure about the rest but I live on GMT+1 region, starting at 15:00, the end time is 19:00. And lets not forget about the possibility of the maintenance to be extended due to technical reasons (it can happen). And then it will be extended to our prime time. So far, it happened only once (their first maintenance) so I think they are doing a good job in that manner for "my" schedule. Having played FFXI, I understand the frustration of doing maintenance on prime hours. (and yes, FFXI have not changed their maintenance schedule since launch, even if they released their product on EU aswell)
  6. This happened to me alot when I was in the Fleet (imperial side). Haven't experienced on other areas I have been (balmorra, WZ (voidstar)).
  7. Well for me it did not turn to a grind. Much the opposite, since I hit 50 half way on Voss quests. I did however do all the Bonus missions till Hoth, did some space missions, and earlier did pvp a few times. What I did notice are the bonus quests that you pick up when you doing the main quest. You know the kill X mobs thing. Specially when the mobs started to get stronger and I believe way fast around 30+ than you upgrade your gear (and companion, since you don't start by having alot of credits to deck them with full up to date gear) it becomes tedious since I kill mobs slow (healer specced sage). And I also noticed that mobs are now with at least 1 strong+weak instead of 3-4 weak mobs, so when I see kill 30+ mobs it gets really tedious.
  8. I have used her on some occasions. Her DPS is quite nice, and most of the time when her parry cooldown is up 1 on 1 vs elites is fine. But still Qyzen wins for me due to his many ways on grabbing aggro of all mobs, and he is quite tough (yes I know he is still squishy but then again). Her dps is far greater than Qyzen for sure, but her survivability is very poor. Do I want Nadia Grell to be like Qyzen and Iresso? For sure yes, for once she can use almost every armor that I use. And I see more drops on which Nadia can use than what Qyzen and Iresso can use.
  9. Judging from the Sith Inquisitor inputs the class is not overpowered in 1vs1 against similar geared opponent, and possibly true on other classes (except the fact on some spells having advantages). But, when they are stacked it is quite deadly. And the amount of time I saw matches with nothing but sith inquisitors is not small, pretty much 75% of my matches were with at least 4-5 Inquisitors (and 50 but thats another matter). Probably since everyone wants to be a lightning casting class... I haven't seen many operatives though. Just a huuuuuuge amount of bounty hunters and Sith Inquisitors.
  10. Have to agree with him. Really, this is their launch game. Where people start their character from scratch. The focus of the game is leveling, and that has been the case on every single MMORPG. End game are added later via patch / expansions where you continue your adventure. Even single players are like that these days. You have a game where you start from "New Game". DLCs and Expansion packs continues the journey from where you have left (reached max level, completed the campaign).
  11. 8.5/10 Some bugs that are annoying. But over all I am enjoying it, and this is still on my first character. Looking forward to see some other character's main story.
  12. The only reason why WoW on launch felt it had more content was due to the fact that leveling was slow. Traveling was a pain (long winded griffon traveling like taking 15min to reach from one destination to another), and there were no flying mount and ground mount had a big price tag. If you compare the wow leveling in vanilla, or even their first expansion to 70 and then compare it to the leveling from 1-85 now you can clearly see the difference. Now if you liked a very long and I really mean very long leveling, there is Everquest back when they had hell levels. (I still remember the 59-60 leveling... it was not pretty) Or you know, the leveling system of FFXI for instance back when they launched. Or even Ragnarok Online? No questing, just PURE GRINDING on killing the same mobs over and over and observe your exp bar go up a mm (or not even that) every hour and required a perfect group (or solo on some classes). I prefer the leveling what we have now in the current game thanks, and for me it has more than enough content at least leveling wise with added bonus of character storyline. Playing a different character also bring something new apart from repeating the same thing over again. (character story) From what I read, it also has enough end game content for a normal player in my opinion. 2 Operation, and Hard modes on existing Flash points. WoW's heroic instance was introduced on their first expansion, and in vanilla it only had 2 raiding (or was it 1) instances. Yes I am aware of the existing bugs, but see how quickly Bioware is patching them. The difference is the speed of progression, and not the content itself. You make it more grinding content, there will be people complaining on how slow the game progress for you.
  13. The Alderaan Bonus quest starts at 38 (I got it at 45 and it was grayed out) and yes as people mentioned you have to get them in the Fleet. The quests itself is level 40+, consisting of 3 heroic+2 and 1 Heroic 4, which the last mob you have to kill is level 41 or 42, although the quest sais its a level 40 quest.
  14. The Heroic Quests are fine as it is but in my opinion some of them could have started earlier specially on the Bonus Ops. I had very hard time finding the Heroic quests for Nar shadaar which starts around level 28, and specially Alderaan Bonus series along with maybe Balmorra aswell. There are usually from 3-5 heroic quests piled up on each bonus series where you can hardly find anyone doing it due to the level it starts. Balmorra Bonus quests doesn't start untill you are 38, and you usually get out of the planet around 35-36. Should the Heroic Quests start around the level you are finishing the planet it could have been easier to find groups, like Taris. It is really a shame since the rewards are usually epic quality mods and by the time you are comming back to do them when you outlevel the content by ALOT, the rewards are not that usefull (well you can pass to your alts, since its Bind on Equip) let alone the experience. Currently I was fortuante enough to finish almost all the heroic quests on my main (46 sage), except the one in Alderaan. Simply put, no one else is doing it either they don't know it or they exist or they are simply skipping it. It gets worse when you are higher that you can't even find people on Heroics that you pick on your way leveling. I want to do them all at least on my first character, just that its quite hard to do the optional quests at the current state.
  15. As a pure healer speced sage currently at level 39 (almost 40) I have done every FP available once, and all the group members I encountered had the common sence to greed what they don't need or asked before. My companion tank is very poorly geared since I can only hand it some quest rewards and crafted items to him. Yes i cannot last much without companions that is true, however to roll over another player an item dropped from heroic quest or FP will contradict to my common sence. I won't push my logic to others, but they will be added to my ignore list. As much as I agree your companions is a part of your character progression at the very least level progression wise, but in FPs its a different matter, UNLESS they are there to actually do the job instead of a player. There are times when I had to pull over my Pet Tank companion to finish off some of the FP's since the player had to go or other reasons. Then yes i can agree that my companion has to some extent served the group in finishing the FP. Normally your companion cannot tank, or heal effectively in a FP of your level. You can if you outlevel the FP by a fair margin. Which usually means that you are actually needing HELP from OTHER PLAYERS (not companions) in order to complete it. If you are part of a group, then it is most sensible to actually agree on a common loot rule than your own rule. "This is a game and I do whatever I want" only works on a single player game, or while soloing. (To some extent with people who shares the same opinion as you) Of course all this can be argued before you start the FPs. I am pretty sure that if you actually state that you will need on items which your companions can use over other players, you will pretty much lose some of your team mates or worse get kicked. Like many mentioned, this is probably the reason why you don't discuss it at the start. In practically all MMOs I played starting from Everquest, they shared this common rule. Need to improve your character personally (not alts, not companions (ok SWTOR is the first to have this), not even your other spec if its not your role on the FP/Dungeon you are currently in). As a healer I managed to do almost every single heroic quests and flashpoints solo or within groups. And I never had pressed need on an item for my companion... although it is funny that almost all the time others do the same. You can still deny that this is false, and continue on what you believe is right, but on a MMO it is best to keep your reputation clean if you wish to do some high level content with the community. (raids, high end FPs) Since solo content will surely decrease, and many things will require grouping. P.S. I don't really want to imagine what will happen if they ever introduce dual spec in this game. Also this topic tied with Random Dungeon Finder or Random Flashpoint Finder, is probably due to the World of Warcraft experience. Imagine that you can need everything you want, and you face no consequence what so ever. Since the RDF in WoW is cross server, chance of finding the same player again is very slim. And you are playing with other server's players so your reputation won't spread as you do playing with the same server's players.
