  1. Pretty much this. When we use to PUG against the old guards a-team super que you had almost zero chance of winning. I have fun going against the super ques that are out there now. Don't always win but they are competitive. It's an MMO, friends are going to group with each other. It happens.
  2. Welcome back Mort. Not many people would have gone to the forums and put it all out there like that. Much respect.
  3. Not exactly. It's a good tool to use if someone's outside of your melee range and you're unable to close the gap for a moment. Other than that there are probably better options, but situation dictates.
  4. Mort, sorry to see you so frustrated you're a solid dude. Hope you are happy on your new server and it's what you're looking for. If it doesn't work out you always have a place back here. Thanks for the effort bud.
  5. As Arash said for us on the Imperial side we can put together a group of 4 solid players, maybe more. Not sure on the Pub side but I'd fill in for whomever with my Sent. Anything that gets pvp going has my support.
  6. I have to agree that it's the game mechanics and not the players. How can you fault people for wanting to play with like minded friends who pvp? It's an MMO, people are gonna group together. Some MMO's, that we will leave nameless, have better matchmaking mechanics that try to put premades against premades. It's not perfect, and it doesn't happen all the time, but their systems are set up so that if you are grouped with a friend they try to find a match where there is another group of two, etc... Now, with SWTOR and their refusal to have cross server pvp (like all east coast servers play against one another) that won't work as it will take too long to find a match. I get irritated when I play on the Imp side and run into GG and then play on the Pub side and run into another Premade and for some reason they are not finding each other in the que. So instead of having a good fight against another premade (which I'm sure they'd prefer) they just roll against PUG's. Either way, it's the system.
  7. It needs more utility, not more damage (though making the time on the merciless buff 30+ secs instead of 15 might be nice). I would like to see them make our trauma debuff 60-80% instead of 20%. That would make us very valuable in RWZ's and mitigate the healers to some extent.
  8. PoliteAssassin, you motivate me. I love Anni/Watchman and was playing it exclusively in 2.0 at first but felt underpowered and switched to focus/rage and carnage/combat. Now that I'm fully geared up I started it up again (largely because this thread motivated me to) and I'm loving it. I wouldn't complain if it got a buff but it is not anywhere as bad as people say.
  9. A lot of bickering going on for no reason it looks like. People need to focus on the PvP and forget the drama. Only reason I'm replying right now is because Mort is my boy. I have pvped quite a bit with Mort and was really sad to see him leave Pax (will be even sadder if he left TEH). He talked to me quite a bit when he was mulling over the decision to leave Pax and if he was poached he lied to me about it extensively which I highly doubt as he had no reason to do so. There's a few of us in Pax, like Mort (and myself), that exclusively pvp. There's more that just pvp casually and then there is quite a bit that don't do it at all. Mort just wanted to be in an environment where everyone was focused on the same thing as him. Nothing underhanded went down from where I was sitting. He went looking for it AFTER he made the decision to leave Pax. The hate towards the PvP guilds is a little off as well. Can it be frustrating to run into premade after premade after premade? Yeah. Is it their fault? No. They're just rolling with their friends. I do the same thing when my buds are around. I just don't have the amount that pvp like the PvP guilds do. Personally it has made me a better player having to survive against those guys. I've never seen them talk ****, winning or losing, or get nasty for no reason (though to be fair when people whine/talk **** I generally gloss over it). If you guys leave TEH, best of luck. If you stay, see you on the field.
  10. I understand what you mean but that is terrible reasoning for them not to look at Anni. If a couple quick fixes could make it viable, why not? Just because other trees need work too doesn't mean they can't improve both at once.
  11. Just got ACT. How do you set it up to see the executioner proc? And visually, for the mara, you glow red when the proc is up, but sometimes it is hard to see. For the sentinel there is no visual cue that I have been able to discern.
  12. I agree with you OP, I like playing my Anni spec more than the other two but I enjoy all three specs. I think a big reason people don't like Anni is that it is much harder to master with a lot more things to keep track of. I get bored playing Rage and Carnage and can put up big numbers with those specs without trying (which isn't a bad thing, all of us can do it if they know the class, I just personally get bored with it). Carnage is VERY easy to counter. If you're playing a good group you are getting CC'd quite a big and it will be hard to get off a good rotation (there are ways to mitigate this but good players will have your number). I like the extra utility of Carnage though. Rage is a beast. If you want to be as effective as possible, Rage is the way to go. You don't have to worry about getting CC'd, and your rotation being less than optimal, because you can get your smash off pretty easily. I just don't find Rage as challenging. I agree that the cleansing argument is a bad one. I rarely get my DoT's cleansed and if I do, that's okay. I'm going to be putting DoT's on the healer continuously, so if they want to cleanse that's just precious seconds where they are not healing themselves or a teammate. You are taking the healer out of the WZ and weakening their group. Good! And that extra healing is too quickly ignored in these conversations because it isn't as good as it use to be. Anni might not be the best tree atm, but it is still very viable with a skilled player.
  13. Anything that puts more emphasis on pvp skill and less on gear is good in my book. If you need the grind for a reason to pvp you don't really enjoy pvp that much. My toons are geared but it can be frustrating when you are grouped with people that have no pvp gear and are virtually worthless in a WZ. THAT is an imbalance.
  14. When you piss off one of the nicest guys I know (Mort), you're wrong.
