  1. Actually SOE Devs (EQ, EQ2, VG (when they had devs), Planetside, Planetside2...those are the games i played on a regular basis) interact with the community quite often; probably more than most any other MMO. WAR Devs also interacted quite a bit , at least for the first year not sure after that. EvE devs were on the boards almost more than anyone else in the community when i played; WoW's also. Darkfall, MO, DDO, LoTR, and just about every other AAA MMO I've played had Devs that would post on the forums quite often.
  2. Because I enjoy doing the side quest when there is a bit of a challenge to them (and when they are greyed out there is NO challenge since the mobs can barely touch you no matter what gear you have on). The big deal is that a game whose biggest selling point is the leveling experience should not being doing everything possible to force you through the leveling experience as fast as possible. Never said I'm going to quit the game, I just said I won't bother playing during the double xp weekends or spend any money on it; I'll keep playing during the week and level my characters at the pace I prefer. What I don't understand is what is the big deal with them putting in the option for players to choose to turn the double xp off for their characters if they so choose? Personally I would prefer that they put in a XP slider similar to EQ2's so that everyone could choose the speed at which they level, and tune it so it will go from 0%-200%. They could even make it so that only subscribers get the full range of 0-200%, Preferred can go from 50-150% and F2P can only go 90-110%.
  3. Thats why we aren't asking to get rid of it, but just give the players a way to turn it off if they choose.
  4. This is the only game I've ever played where people bish about other's asking for the option to turn the double xp off for their characters. Honestly. "hakes head" I think some people will bish that the sky is blue, or water is wet. I hate the xp weekends, and like many others, would love to see them as being a regularly occurring fixture in the game as long as they add an option for people to turn them off if they choose to.
  5. Spent my time and money in another game, and will happily not drop a single dime on this game until this round of double xp weekends are over, or they give us an option to turn it off.
  6. Really? I've tried a couple of times and was told you can't mail to the other faction (got a little pop-up window), and I was a subed at the time I tried. That sucks I been wasting money on the GTN because of that
  7. Nope not possible. You could always list it on the GTN and hope you can buy it before someone else, or list it for a lot more than its worth. Then just list a junk item for close to the same amount on that character to transfer the money back; you will lose some in the exchange so make sure it is worth it before you use that method.
  8. If you don't think levels have any effects on fights take your level 55, strip off all their gear, and then head back to your beginner planet and see how long it takes for your character to die. I see no reason why BW can't make it optional; hell I can't see any reason why they can't do like EQ2 and just add an XP slider bar in that goes from 0-200% (make it a sub perk to be able to take the bar below 75% and above 125%) so that people can level at the speed they choose whenever they want.
  9. Rested XP only affects the amount of XP you get from killing NPCs, and doesn't affect any other forms of XP.
  10. Best: The stories Worst: Toss up on the devs seeming to be stuck in 2003 so a lot of nice functionality you find in newer mmos have yet to make it here, or the fact they seem to be doing everything possible to force you to out level the story lines.
  11. 1) EQ 2) EVE 3) Vanguard 4) SWTOR 5) tie between Darkfall and Lineage 2
  12. The Ops are a ton of fun, but yeah it is probably best to look for a guild to run them with.
  13. I got the game for free; but then I waited until it went F2P before joining and subscribing (after participating in the beta I knew it was only a matter of time before it did).
  14. They could always give F2P unlimited access, and then give subscribers priority in the que.
  15. Do be aware that MMOs tend to be designed for the 17+ crowd (few exceptions are designed for younger kids).
