  1. Thank-you for the tips.
  2. Indeed, I laugh at the players that say they did 50 in 4 days! What's the point? Did you really enjoy the ride? Doubtful. Been playing since beta and still don't have a 50 yet. Maybe it's because I have a job and family to take care of... I will be very sad once I hit 50 and there is no more story. No Story=No Reason to Play:(
  3. I wouldn't know. I've been playing since beta and still don't have a lvl 50 character yet. Albiet I do have 5 level 40 or so... It just took me awhile to figure out what I liked...lol This is my ONLY MMO ever. I guess I'd have to play others to see what's "wrong" with this one. I came for the story since I'm an old KOTOR fan. In this regard Bioware has not failed. I'm still digging the plot over a year later. I cannot attest as to SWOTOR's PVP playability, as I always get whacked. Then again I always get whacked in HALO as well.
  4. Now see! I didn't know that... No wonder I've been getting killed all the time. I don't have any level 50 characters. I've been playing since before the original release and just now found a class I "really" like. So, maybe by spring I'll have a character that can BEGIN to compete in PVP.
  5. Thanks for the thread, very useful. I've been on since before the beginning and STILL haven't made 50...lol But I found this to be useful information for the future.
  6. despite turning on groupfinder every day, and toggeling ON every option. I have yet to be invited to a group through it. I don't beleive that groupfinder works at all.
  7. <Giving back to the community> OK, I too got my butt kicked by this dude. I went to these forums and learned that I needed to use what is called an 'interupt'. For the Jedi Sentinal this would be the Jedi Kick ability. I am not a PVP'r so I was not accustomed to monitoring what my opponents do. You know. That silly little bar on the right/center of your screen. Apparently, Valis has a whopper of a huge ranged attack that has like a 3-4 second build up. This is where the majority of his damage comes from. If you use the Jedi Kick to foil these attacks, you will defeat him. Others with go on and on with other useful hints, like stims, and when to use your leap and direction of attack, when to send kira or astrobuddy into combat. But without the proper use of Jedi Kick as an interupt. You Will Die.
  8. Thanks for the tips. I'll try again later.
  9. (28th Lv Sniper): There's a reason that we shoot the guy with the big flaming sword, who happens to be coming toward us with an attitude. Because if they do manage to close range, it's gonna hurt. In fact, if you happen to be in my view and wielding a big flaming sword. It will likely kick you up the target priority list. I can only speak for myself when I say that I think things are balanced. Because when I am killed, it is usually by melee or exaustion.
  10. Milking BT? Sure do. Every damn day. I start each and every gaming session with a run through BT... And why? 1st) Easy source of Social Points, that I desperatly need. 2nd) I love escorting the young ones through. It's like my duty to the Empire. 3rd) I just can't get enough of that Moff Whathisname, Admiral of the 5th Fleet, 2nd to the Minister of War, the one, the only Butcher of Couruscant.....lol and not neccessarily in that order...
  11. You may come across some fine loot that when you try to equip it, a warning comes up... ~Warning, this item will bind upon equip... something, something... This means that if you EVER equip this item, you will never be able to sell it using the galactic trade network for credits. If you try you will get a message saying sorry this is a bound item. It doesn't mean that it's stuck to you... It doesn't mean that you can't sell it for low-credits to any vendor... It doesn't mean that there's a demon inside it... (Well maybe some darkside items...) For those of us who have never played MMOs before it is not all that obvious what "bound item" means. Thought this might help.
  12. Yes! Eureka! Thanks for the info. That link was a huge help.
  13. Ok, I just got Kaylia making weapons using armstech. By making a sniper rifle, she/we have learned the ability to make a better one called a "Sonic Sniper Rifle". Thats all great, but it requires a component called "Carbo-plas". It says that this is a researched component. The Crew Skills venders on Balmora and the Imperial Fleet do not have Carbo-plas for sale. How do I "research" this material. I presume that it could be a crew skill that I don't have, but which one? The point is that I would like to continue to get better at armstech. Perhaps become able to make something actually usefull. But this is a stumbling block. Help.
  14. Thanks, that helped a ton. Now I am actually usefull in Groups...lol
  15. I am playing a Sniper, and I have finally gotten to the point where I have more abilities than will fit in the first two rows of the UI. Problem: Regardless of whether my rows are locked or not, when I use the 'cover' ability, it dissappears and all of the abilities to the right, shift to the left to fill in the hole. Additionally, my new ability 'Takedown' ,regardless of placement, dissapears once combat commences. Fortunately I'm not a big Macro fan, else the fact that some abilities are changeing their number based on situation could become a nightmare. I just want to be able to use my new abilities... I don't know if this is a bug, or if someone out there knows what I am doing wrong...
