  1. Thanks for the easy gear BW but still no thanks to ranked. Sorry for repeating myself but the reason ranked is dead has nothing to do with the difficulty of obtaining gear but rather all to do with the tiny pool of participants. Since we don't have cross server queueing, every server has established long ago who were the top dogs and nobody wants to challenge them anymore. Also solo queue pits you against premades. That's silly, nobody wants that either. BW if you want to revive your ranked, either implement cross server queueing or at least remove PUG vs Premade, that way premade vs premade Qs will be totally dead like they are now but Solo q vs Solo q ranked will be thriving.
  2. All classes that have ranged AOE skills also have single target ranged attacks so I don't see what people are fussing about. The only place where this will change anything is in the Alderaan WZ where LOSing behind the terminal (and moving the fight away from it before) will actually become a tactical move. I like the change.
  3. SWTOR population hasn't been healthy for years... If you want frequent WZ pops, leave your dead server and transfer to a high pop one: Harbinger USW Ebon Hawk USE or Red Eclipse EU. They're the only 3 servers to still have a decent population.
  4. I would agree to this but only if the XP lock didn't work in warzones. If you don't agree with this OP, then it's clear all you really want is twinking.
  5. The score board doesn't show dps it shows total damage so if your team gets owned hard and your team mates have very low damage on the recap it doesn't necessarily mean they suck at their class it just means they spent more time dead than fighting - or afking which a lot of people do when they notice they're up against a premade and have no chance of winning. The problem isn't that your team mates are terrible it's that you're in a PUG facing premades. Also good players don't chase fights all match to buff their e-peen with highest total damage, they go where they're needed which sometimes means defending objectives away from fights which in turn lowers their total damage considerably. The score board doesn't tell you jack about individual player skill.
  6. Why would I bother reading a 14 page thread when I know your premise is totally wrong ? You say SWTOR is failing because of - or partly because of - the community, that's BS. You know it, I know it, BW knows it. I repeat, the only thing hindering SWTOR PvP is the absence of cross server queuing, not the the toxic community, not the imbalances and not even the crap performance of the game in 8v8 WZs - although this last point is arguable. I did read your OP and your conclusion is: "It is the players who are ultimately killing PVP" That's simply incorrect.
  7. I disagree with you , OP. Some PvP games with way worse communities than SWTOR thrive regardless of how toxic the players are. You named LoL, and that's a fine example. No, SWTOR PvP is failing because too few people participate and queue times are too long. The main reasons for this are the following: 1) Players are allowed to play in both factions on the same server. This leads to all the competitive players moving to the same side and all the "casuals" who don't really care about winning staying on the other side. The casuals then procede to lose 95% of their matches and eventually get discouraged and stop queueing. 2) The pool of participants is just too small. There aren't enough PvPers on most servers to have regular pops which leads to very long queue times and no pops at all outside of prime time. Nobody wants to or can afford to wait 20+ minutes for a WZ pop when they also have to hurry to do all their other group dailies (which also require a lot of waiting) before prime time runs out. The obvious fix is cross server queueing but sadly it'll never happen because BW is more concerned about cashing in on transfers of players chasing the herd rather than expanding their playerbase in a healthy, or at least eventful PvP environment. Take any successful online PvP game these days. What do they all have in common? Instant action. You queue and a minute later you're fighting and having fun, at any time of the day. As long as SWTOR keeps failing on that front it'll go nowhere with PvP.
  8. Where'd you get that info from? Certainly not BW...they don't communicate.
  9. Maybe they're working on cross atlantic transfers, that would be sweet. But I doubt it... It's most probably what you said. Some fail scheme to **** with the player base in hopes of milking those few extra bucks somewhere down the line. After all when you deprive an addict of his fix he tends to go for a major binge when ever he gets his hands on it again.
  10. Whatever you come up with just make sure it isn't a 15 fps lag fest like the 2nd hutt ball map.
  11. Biowar€ makes a lot of money with payed character transfers. That's why they wait until servers are TOTALLY dead - after everyone's payed their way out - before closing or merging them. Forget about free transfers, they'll never happen. The word "free" isn't in their vocabulary. This game is now all about maximizing milkage from the few die hard SW fans still playing the game. They'd rather have 2 people quit and one pay a transfer and keep playing instead of merging servers or offering free transfers to keep all 3 players. Total loser attitude if you ask me but that's how they are.
  12. Same here hehe, been playing on and off since beta and my highest toon is only 39 I think it's due to the questing being so mind numbingly boring and slow - by that I mean the side questing. So, great thing they're doing this 12x xp on story quests, I finally get to see the end game content
  13. Yeah I'm only lvl 38. I rely heavily on the Underworld Medicine + Emergency Medpack combo. When UM gets interrupted I switch to Kolto Pack but that's hardly a life saver and it usually gets interrupted aswell. Anyway you guys are all OK with the system and other classes seem to have it worse than scoundrels/ops so just gonna have to suck it up and L2P better, I guess. Thanks for the replies.
  14. I'm fairly new to TOR PvP. I play scoundrel healer and I must say these chain interrupts are starting to bust my chops a little. Every class and their grand mother seems to have an interrupt on very low CD, there's no diminishing returns on interrupts and they aren't affected by resolve... How can that be ok? Again I'm new to TOR PvP and my highest toon is only lvl 38 so I don't have any 55 pvp exp. I did a forum search and apparently I'm not the only one who finds this system broken. What do the PvP pros think about it? Do you like it like it is? I'm curious. I've PvPed in countless other MMOs and this one is by far the worste for casters, IMO.
