  1. If you close out of the server select and go back to it, you will see it is greyed out. https://www.swtor.com/server-status Thats their server status if you want a reference to check back on
  2. Been away a long time, so forgive me for the question but... When servers crash, how long do they usually take to bring them back up? I'm not too worried it will be long as I assume they are all in the office right now and are working on it now (I'm sure), but was wondering if the average time is like 5 minutes, 30 mins 2 hours etc. Like WoW seems to be between 5 and 10 mins, FFXIV is usually 2 mins or so, UO is like hours at a time etc
  3. Maybe they will attempt to 1 up wow in this one... small... thing..
  4. I am seriously done. You can browse the PTS forums and see tons of problems/ bugs that people are currently having with the update. LOTS and LOTS of problems. They have all been submitted, if they patch this 1.3 then it is a clear sign that they DO NOT care about the state of the live servers to me, and that will be the very last straw I can take from this game. I have stayed since launch, waited patiently for the "oh s*** we need to recover now" phase, which they have already gone through later than expected, and now is the "clean up our act" phase. If they don't get it right, several subs will be lost.. yet :jawa_tongue:
  5. I don't... I say Star wars old republic... Im not too lazy to turn 1 second into 1/2 a second.
  6. Well let's think about this. Is there a in-game guild merge feature... no. How would you merge your guild? You would have to quit your current guild, and then get an invite from the new guild. So, the answer is, it stays with your guild. I highly advise either pulling it all out, or getting an alt promoted to guild leader or you will lose all your stuff.
  7. What do they need to speak up in this post about? All information that has been asked by the TC has been answered in it already, and can easily be found by typing the question out on google.. its not rocket science here, it's business. Yes the company that made this game is not the original bioware team (duh...), nor was it crated primarily in bioware HQ, it was a subdivision, in Austin, made up of groups of people from fail MMOs and MMOs that don't exist anymore, and a few writes from HQ that left right after they were done w/ their inputs into the script. Simple.
  8. Wrong... You can get the bracers/belt and put armoring in it, Grade 25/26 armorings DO drop in raids, and are not bound by piece, only the ones you rip OUT of the raid gear (Which you cant take mods out of the raid belt/bracers anyways) are bound by slots. Same with PVP gear. The reason this is so expensive, is because it allows you to grab a marauder set ON your say.. idk... Jedi Counciler... go into your stash of columi/battlemaster gear, rip the mods out of that, place it in your orange legacy marauder armoring you just bought, fill it up nice and pretty, and send your newly hit 50 marauder some raid gear / pvp gear. Of course this is very expensive, as it should be for what you are able to use it for. Hope that answers your question unlike the poster above.
  9. What is the most populated server in game... Oh a PVP one. Why? Because the other pvp servers that look like their population is hurting, is because they got tired of waiting 15 minutes for a PVP Warzone Que to pop up, so they rolled on a server where it is damn near instant. You wonder why they want to add more focus to PVP? Because A LARGE amount of the playerbase is centered purely around it. PVE content is a given, a guarantee that more PVE based additions/updates will be seen than anything. It is a must in a MMO and will be here as well, when they say that they are going to focus on PVP, it is because they have recently stated that they WILL NOT focus on PVP and it is not their top priority, and saw a huge dip in the subs of avid PVPERS. To get them back, they fabricate a lie. They are very Two-faced here... and you can just read the news page and dev updates to see that. A lot of what they have said, and then changed their minds, has dissapeared. The ORIGINAL post about the free 30 days, basically said anyone who wasn't subbed since day 1 was NOT A VALUED CUSTOMER. That went well in PR I am sure, and it was taken off the main page in less than 24 hours. The original dev blogs that had 3 primary developers of the game say They did not care what the fans though of the game, or what they wanted/requested, got ripped down in under a week. That was a big deal pre-launch that lost them a few subs I'm sure. So before you get your panties in a wad, go back through the updates and show me where you see PVP being in the top 3 of priority lists. A new warzone... really? Its a small open ended map with 3 nodes that is the exact same concept as civil war only you require 2 of the 3 to do anything... wow, such innovation and focus went into that. So much that cross-server Que and Ranked PVP made it's way in... *rolls eyes*
  10. Can't just TURN sandbox at max level, it either is, or isnt.
  11. You call Everquest and Ultima Online a failure? WoW was the first REAL successful themepark MMO. It's continued success is because of all the kiddies it appealed to and ease of learning curve that got millions of people to actually TRY out a MMO for the first time. Everyone always goes back to their first real MMO, so it is no surprise that WoW stays a giant among MMOs, because when it came out, is around the time that MMO's were actually picking up speed, and the amount of people it drew to the genre, many of which were first time MMOers, caused them to only scale higher and higher in sales and subscriptions. If you look at WoW's sales model, WoW has several people that come back 2-3 times a year to play a little, only to realise it is still the same game and eventually quit again. Out of the poles and studies that people have done on the forums, it is a fact that majority of the people that re-subbed, did so because WoW was the first MMO they really played, and you can never replace that kind of sparkle a MMO gives off with your first one. My first? Ultima online. I got back at least once a year. I played about 6 MMO's before I touched wow. Was immediately turned off by the linear gameplay, and the ease of play. The lack of true diversity and skill got me to quit playing it way before my first 30 days were up. I gave the account to a friend and dusted my hands off. Close to 6 years later, I haven't ever looked back. I just see the result of it's success on every MMO I turn to. You can never kill MMOs that have a big base of "first timers". It is impossible.
  12. I like what you are attempting to do, I really do, but here is my question for you. You left behind your previous character... so what do you plan on doing with it? When the server transfers/merges come, do you honestly think Bioware is going to open the gates to any server of your choosing? I am quite sure the servers with already booming populations are going to be OFF LIMITS. The reasoning behind this is, everyone and their mom will roll to either the highest popuplated PVP, PVE, or RP server. Leaving 3-4 servers the only viable solutions. The people that do not transfer at this time, or roll new characters at the time will then be screwed over by lack of population. The more likely scenario of events will be that Bioware takes set groups of servers, and offers them 2-3 servers to transfer to. What if your server is not on this selected list? That is when the payed transfers will come into play, but that will probably be a few months after the initial free transfer/merge. Now, All I am saying is, the appeal for me to re-roll onto a more populated server is definitely there, but I refuse to give up my 3 50s, and 85 million I have accumulated so far. So, I twiddle my thumbs and wait for the information to come from bioware.
  13. The poll has already come and gone, and most of the people here are more focused on the PVP side rather than the PVE side... There's a reason you hear so much about the fatman server... just sayin'. The biggest thing I hear people on my servers say they want to transfer there for, is so that they dont have to wait 20-40 minutes for a warzone que to pop up.
