  1. im a concealment speced operative and i love pwning ppl all day long. its pretty fun but ya i see how it makes ppl very angry. well they are getting nerfed and its no surprise. but the real question are they getting nerfed enough? and if the nerf is enough to break the class id like some input on which will be the new power class so i can reroll one of those. what is the new flavor of the month??
  2. im so sick and tired of flying back to dromund kass. there is no link btwn the flgithpaths and its super far outa my way while im lvling. i literaly took a week break from the game cuz im so sick and tired of the damned running around and constantly flying back to dromund kass. is the imperials phone bill so expensive they cant make the long distance holocall to talk to me? do i really have to keep flying back to dromund kass over and over again just to talk to some bs guy to send me on my next quest, it drives me insane and now ima take another week break and play a diff game cuz i wanna punch my monitor for making me fly to dromund kass again. NNNNEEEEERRRRRD RRRRAAAAGGGGGEEEE!!!!!!
  3. agreed. when you see the starwars movies speeders move blazing fast. in games like city of heros you could get super speed and move crazy fast it was hella fun. where is my speeder so fast i can barely control it and run into walls and trees? but seriously guys speeders are slow compaired to what youd envision a speeder to be like as well as a single shot knocks you off are you joking? i thought getting a speeder meant no more having to wade through waves after wave of annoying trash mobs.
  4. omg ya the running is obsurd and tedious... like aion grinding tedious. and dont forget the run to the transport up to the orbital station then to your ship to take the holocall then back across the orbital station down the transport back to the taxi to get to your original point. spend less money on absurdity and spend it on the gameplay.
  5. now bioware perhaps you should build a team of employees who will play other games and do actual research to see how they have addressed the diff classifications of players. there is prolly like 15 years of mmo out there, most of us are dissappointed cuz you failed to take advantage of that information out there or perhaps you just ignored it thinking you were too good to be subject to it.
  6. ok we all know that bioware has never done an MMO before, all their experience comes form RPG, to be fair they are still trying to find out what it is that really makes an MMO, i think it is time that we give them a helping hand. first off we need to know what audience you are supplying a product too, we are teh consumer and if you cannot relate to the consumer you are doomed. An MMO isnt just a xp grind with story like a regular console RPG, everyone gets something different from an MMO we arent all after the same experience. We can easily classify some of the different kinds of potential customers and work to cater to their needs. lets elaborate: The Farmer/Auctionieer: these are the players who find fun in gathering nodes and playing the auction house to gather wealth, to them the game is about how wealthy they can be. the crafter: similar to the farmer and auctionieer but usually more interested in the end product than the material gathering, they are the life blood and customers to the farmers, which keeps the system alive and flowing for the both of them, a very simbiotic relationship. the altaholic: these are your players who play for the story and are more casual players who perhaps dont have the time to dedicate to be a hardcore player, these seem to be your main focus. the pvper: these are the ppl who want to flex their epeen and fight for bragging rights, this is more of the core audience that keeps the cash flow coming in to support the servers. these guys rush to max lvl and really only keep playing the game to prove their skills against other player, cuz pve is too easy. the raider: these guys are the guys who dont care about the story they just wanna get max lvl and join guilds to do all the fun social activities and build relationships with other players, these guys make up a large portion of the income as well cuz its not about the game its about the friendships. the collector: these also are a type of gatherer, their mission is to obtain rare items and rare vehicles(mounts) and attempt to obtain every vehicles possible, also acheivement whores as some have called them. these guys tend to spawn from the other classifications i can only assume out of boredom. (ive never been a collector im too much of a power player) the mathametician: these guys are the guys who are the addon builders and what not, the game itself has little value to them past the numbers. to them its a number crunching game, they are the ones who attempt to figure out the best rotations the best strategies to beat bosses/raids they are the information providers for the other classifications. also huge advocates of damage meters to test their theories etc. and im sure that there are perhaps other ppl whom i have not mentioned here please feel free to add to this list. ok with this information now you have to find out how to draw those ppl in and how to keep them busy. notice i didnt say happy i said busy cuz if something is too easy or too hard ppl wont be happy, but keeping them busy will cause them to invest time and make them feel like their accomplishments bring pride in their work.
  7. well imo the real issue with 50s having their own braket is that they have a fresh game with multiple tiers of gear past lvl cap ALREADY. if 50s didnt have multiple tiers past lvl cap there would be no issues of expertise to balance this out and they could play with everyone else without be way OP, progressive tiers imo shouldnt exsist period its a dumb idea but if they are going to exsist then they should be released in waves several months later as new content comes out, its a pretty simple idea and doesnt play your whole hand all at once, leaving you cards to play later on to keep customers
  8. ya cross server would def help alleviate some of the issue but in all honesty imperials are overpopulated (which stems from a deeply disturbing moral trend in my opinion) but is it just so hard to flip the switch and say ok faction doesnt matter. or perhaps provide some kinda incentive to balance out factions, obviously ppl play imperial for the coolness factor perhaps bring something really cool to the table on the other side
  9. very insightful, and i do like the game its very beautiful and i hear the story is good (ima spacebar junky) i think most of the ocmplaints come from those of us like yourself who have played just bout every mmo that hit the market, and as it has evolved from the MUDS of the past into a fully immersive world to explore there are certain expectations that ppl have come to enjoy, we are upset as a whole because they werent implementing the standards of modern mmo's its ez to say well its still in development but the mmo industry has been out for some 15+ years all you dhave to do is a lil bit of research to find out where the bar is and then once youve hit the stardard then expand into new things like an excelent story. idk maybe im wrong but your right if this fails ppl will look at this and conan and think twice on mmo's
  10. for all of you ppl who say "oh quit your qq and go back to wow." you completely forget the purpous of these types of forums. they arent a cry zone, its for biowares sake. in beta you only get starwars fanboys who are going to blow smoke up their **** cuz they are ******** themselves they got the honor of beta testing a starwars game. but upon release is when they get to find out the real issues. so grow up and quit your "i cant wait till your gone so i can play on a server with only 100 ppl on the population." the game needs improvement ez as that.
  11. well everyone knows there is always that one class that is out of balance with the rest. either too high dps, too high heals, or *** ever the case may be. we all know pvp is broken as of now so despite all my efforts to try to play what i wanna play, im just go be like everyone else and roll an inquisitor. 8 out of every 10 players in a warzone is an inquisitor/sage so now im just going to join them! cya on the warzones!
  12. wow will always be brought up. its currently the standard for our modern mmo. in your lifetime how many times have you heard someone say "ya halflife you know its like of those DOOM style games." everyone gave rift such a hard time cuz it was a ripoff of wow, the sad truth is in order for a mmo to survive it at least has to be wow then surpase it. its just the way of the world. ive mentioned this in other posts recently but i think it has to be resaid here, you wouldnt buy a car off the lot without powersteering and power brakes would you? just cuz someone mentions wow doesnt demonize them its just a matter of standard features that you expect from an online game.
  13. well chances are once ive lvld about 3-4 characters to 50 ill prolly end up finding something else to play. by all means its a very great game. i am a fan of starwars and its alot of fun. higher lvls its gets very grindy and way to much running around, but that happens when developers run outa good ideas and are pushed to meet a deadline. all in all ill give this game a 4 out of 5 stars. it seems to me they just wanted to push a product out without actually finishing it. and its ok cuz i was tired of waiting for it and wanted to play. but they were in to big of a hurry and left out many of the very basic features of modern mmo's. i would rank this game as an excellent single player console game. coulda saved themselves millions of dollars and still made the initial profit, but sustainability just isnt there unless they fire the guy making the decisions and let the creative ppl do their thing. things like free roam space missions, and even space mission pvp. pod racing against other players with upgradable pods. this game has UBER potential to take mmo's into the next generation forever changing the way we play. it could be a flight sim, it could be a racing game, it could be an rpg. if you want it to be a mmo players either play together or against each other, otherwise its just a pay monthly single player game.
  14. see heres the deal right... you wouldnt by a brand new car right of the lot with an 8track player right? its 2012. youd want a cd player or maybe a port for your mp3 player right? why would you release an mmo without the newest functions out on the market? where is my dual spec? where is my random dungoen que? where is my being able to select my choice of pvp warzone? ya a game isnt going to be perfect right off the bat, but where are the basics? you want powerstearing on your car right? where is it bioware? this isnt an mmo its a single player console game.
