So I've yet to wrap my head around this mythical and mysterious ELO thing. I.e. if a teammate of mine leaves during the arena and I'm on the losing side, why do I lose 10 points, while the opposing team gains say 8 points? It seems I constantly lose more points than I win. Especially after being trapped in a cycle of 1 win followed by 1 loss, I gain 12 points for the win but lose 13 points for the loss following.
But then the other thing is, who's idea was it to add mats to the ranked queue rewards for the daily and weekly? Like it just baffles me to add something to a system where players are trying to win, yet are sometimes hindered by those who have no interest in PVP and play it for mats, making it a 3v4. It'd be like playing Dota 2 or LoL ranked, but instead you get 1 mythical cosmetic for every 10 games or something. You'd get a majority of players who want to play for their rank and be on the leaderboard... but then they're gonna be those players who couldn't give a flying **** and only want the cosmetic.
What was so bad about keeping an expertise cap on being allowed to queue for ranked, and what was so bad about having 2 separate gear sets for PVE and PVP?
