  1. I've posted (and seen posted by others) the same idea multiple times and still think it is a fantastic idea. It is far too time consuming to level a whole new character to 50 through the story for that really be a viable option for someone who just wants to re-experience the class story. There are many many ways this could be implemented. As for people who are against the idea because it might reset player choice, I have a few things of contention: 1) I think those players are generally missing the point about why people may want this. Its not about making other choices; its about seeing the story you've already gone through. Replaying the story could already either store and auto choose the choices you've already made, or if you make different choices it doesn't have to affect the "canon" story of your character (i.e. its like a what if scenario). 2) Even if it allowed people to change their choices, this really doesn't have any affect on other people's games. If you don't want to change your story, you wouldn't have to. Its really a personal choice and preference. Its the single-playerest part of this MMO. 3) I don't think the choices were all that amazing anyway. While I enjoy the story, I don't really feel like the character I've played are "my" characters as much as in games like Baldur's Gate or Dragon Age or even Mass Effect.
  2. I completed all of the new space missions once 1.6 hit. I then received two new missions: one asked me to complete Thanium Disruption and the other asked me to complete Thanium Disruption and Baros Ambush. I did both of those and got my reward. When I was able to play again (yesterday) I had those same two missions again. I completed them again. And that is all. I have nothing today. I came here to see what the pattern was, but I guess its broken... Sad panda is me.
  3. I recently got the major experience boost 5 pack and used one. The first thing I did was some space missions. The experience I gained didn't necessarily seem increased. Is the "extra" XP earned not stated, or do they not work on space missions?
  4. The following is a potential concern I have for the future of the game - in particular, the "class story" extensions that should come later on. This is coming from my personal perspective, obviously, so others will doubtlessly disagree. I'm not interested in starting an argument. I'm just putting my two cents out there for Bioware to, hopefully, read. Feel free, of course, to add your own comments. Just don't expect me to respond. Anyway, first I should explain my "play style" to set up my perspective. I came to SWTOR as a fan of KotOR and Bioware games in general. I was a little leery of SWTOR since I don't generally enjoy the "massively multiplayer" part of the MMO. Particularly, I haven't enjoyed the threshold in past MMOs where you are essentially forced to group to advance. I never knew anyone IRL that was also playing the game and don't particularly enjoy trying to interact with random internet people. I understand multiplayer, and thus grouping, is a defining factor in MMOs. I'm not saying the genre or SWTOR should remove the "MM" aspect. I'm just saying that was what convinced me that MMOs probably weren't my thing. Personal preference. Going in to SWTOR, I was happy to find the "class story," which is what I was mainly interested in, is largely soloable and I also found a great guild that I could rely on for assistance, if needed, and group with for FPs and such. Ops, the "endgame," is not something I'm interested in, however. They just require too much of a time commitment to gear up for and run through. My work schedule is also erratic enough that I really can't join up with a regular Ops group. So, I don't do Ops. Again, I'm not saying that end game content should be removed or made easier or anything. I'm just saying I, as a player, don't do Ops due to personal preference. I just start another character. Works for me and I'm generally satisfied with the game. So, to my concern. I've noticed that a lot of the content updates have added new Ops with new, more powerful (supposedly, I guess, I don't look at them that closely since I won't get it) equipment. Not a problem itself. My potential concern however is what happens when/if the class stories are finally extended. Will they be balanced for all this new, end game equipment that keeps getting added? Or will it be balanced for players such as myself that have, at best, starter Ops equipment? Of course, I hope any new class story content will be balanced for those such as myself. BW can add more Ops, maybe, or perhaps a "hard mode" of the new class story to satisfy those with the more powerful equipment who might want a greater challenge.
  5. Aren't you now telling someone else what they should do?
  6. It looks like there a few similar threads (all made prior to mine, just to give credit where its due) that also have some support. Hopefully this indicates there's enough interest that Bioware could consider putting it in. If its a simple thing they could maybe (but doubtfully) get it in to 1.3. More likely though, we could hopefully see it by 1.4?
  7. So, a lot of effort has obviously gone into the class stories. For me, at least, that's a pretty big draw. While I don't feel the stories live up to Bioware's traditional single player games, its still my main draw. With that said, I'm sure I'd like to re-experience the stories at some point in time just like I sometimes feel like replaying KotOR or Mass Effect not necessarily for the gameplay, but for the stories. Unfortunately, leveling a brand new character through the character story just takes way too much time to replay a story (at least, not if I ever want to play another game ever again). There is also no system in place to summarize the story or anything like that. Here are a few thoughts I had on how to let players relive the class stories: 1) Have a sort of "reset class story" option that allows a character to play the class story again. It wouldn't affect the side quests or anything - just the class story. This could be tied to the Legacy system somehow. There probably wouldn't be any tangible rewards for doing this; it would just be to allow someone to run through the story. Enemies could be kept at their original levels, or scaled to the player's level to at least add some semblance of challenge. Any different decisions made in conversations would affect what "really" happened, but would just allow a player to see what "could" have happened in that instance. 2) Add a personal holocron to the ship that would allow a character to just re-experience the conversations and cutscenes of a class story without including the actual quests. Same as above with the decisions. 3) Simply add an entry in the codex that summarizes the class story. Thoughts? Suggestions?
  8. To me, the biggest issue is the cost per Legacy perk. Most of these thing so far, as stated, aren't really beneficial in a gameplay perspective. They're just neat. So, what's the deal behind paying 2 million creds for something? Is getting to Legacy level 15 not enough? I think it is. I do like the buffs, but that's about it. I hope they take away the cost of the perks and introduce some more substantial ones (which they're kind of doing in 1.3).
  9. I actually think my alt has levelled faster than my main. You might be not doing something that you did previously. Or have you hit 40? It slows down after that.
  10. 1) What does it matter to you what Bioware and/or EA is saying about subscription levels? Doubtlessly you'll enjoy the game or not regardless of what they have to say. 2) It never directly quotes anyone saying that subscriber numbers haven't dropped. The article merely paraphrases. Its possible that there was a qualifying statement or something that would make the claim more correct. 3) What does it matter? Really?
  11. My smuggler has consistently been at the max level for planet as I arrive on that planet. I never do heroics or flashpoints or PvP. My JK was also consistently right at the correct level (I only rarely did a heroic or FP with my JK). The experience is fine. You're just rushing through something.
  12. I was also unable to pick it up. I actually hadn't completed yesterday's daily until today and I didn't do it until after I completed the Outbreak quest. I thought maybe that had something to do with it? Anyway, I won't be able to log on tomorrow or Thursday, so I'm glad the events lasting until the 24th. Gives me some time to figure it out.
  13. What negative impact? The worse thing it does is force you to his the respawn button. There's no penalty if you die from the plague (in fact, you get the DNA sample which is a bonus).
