  1. It would be awesome for it to last a whole month. Although, from my perspective, I get a little annoyed that they do double CXP and double XP at the same time. Creates a situation where you have to choose which to do. Level alts to 70 (and miss the double CXP on your current 70s) or grind CXP on your current 70s (and miss out on double XP for the lower alts). At least with the event lasting a month, we would have time to level alts and grind CXP.
  2. As already said, in story mode, you can do whatever you want and cruise pretty easily. And if you're concerned about speed, set your companion to DPS, get their influence up and watch mobs melt in story mode. For me, I love Vengeance and will use a healing comp, so there is no downtime between fights to heal up. Seems to go very quickly if I want it to. On my DPS toons that have healing abilities (Sorc and Operative), I'll set my comp to tank and mow through mobs as well. For PVP, though, Juggs are struggling a bit. You can still pull decent numbers with the dot spreading and help with protection and objectives, but actually killing folks feels more difficult than it used to. Might just be all the new DCDs and heals every other class got in this patch.
  3. These points all make sense. And I understand exactly what you're saying. I, too, know the feeling of being focused every time I'm within range of anyone. My only thought would be, sometimes it's a premade, and sometimes it's just a random collection of folks that know how to use focus target. And sometimes it actually boosts my ego that I get focused ahead of some of the others on my team. Just means they may recognize me and recognize that I'm at least competent and need to be taken out quickly. I agree on the Sorcs thing. I haven't actually touched my Sorc in pvp for some time. I've played around a bit in lowbies and mids with a dps Sorc just for fun, but haven't played my 65. And yes, sometimes you can tell if it's a premade based on how they move and react. However, if enough solo queuers would learn tactics and pay attention to chat, then you'd see it some in pugs, too. I think that's the biggest issue. So many pugs just give up as soon as they see a premade that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. They don't try so it turns into a roflstomp, and because it turns into a roflstomp, they don't try. It's an endless cycle. But that's also why I pointed out sometimes all it really takes is for one person to quit (because...premades) and have their spot backfilled by a competent player who will try, and the pug can squeak out a victory. It's happened to me on more than one occasion. All in all, though, I still think just general pvp knowledge goes a long way to competing against premades (whether they are serious or just friends joking around). These are the "strategies to destroy premades" that should have been suggested (rather than quitting the WZ): 1. Focus the healer or healers. Mark them. Stun them. Interrupt them. 2. If you have two of the nodes already, quit trying to take the third and defend what you have. Respond to calls from defenders. 3. Pay attention to numbers. If there are six of you and you're all trying to kill 1-2 of the other team, that means the rest of that team has a huge advantage somewhere else. 4. If you cap, you defend. Don't leave a capped node undefended. 5. Pass in huttball. The best teams I've seen (not just premades) will basically set up a pass chain and use it.
  4. I understand what you're saying, I do. But you lose me a bit when you refer to premades as having guards and pocket healers, and being unable to identify good or bad players. Sure, sometimes they have the trinity, but that's a little more rare than you might think. A lot of premades I see (both when I'm in one, and also when I'm against them) don't necessarily have the trinity. There may be a healer. Or a tank. But frequently, it's just several dps. And it's not as if the premades are just running around the WZ in a pack and picking people off. Sometimes they do, sure, but often, they are playing the objectives. They may seem like they are better, but that's generally because they are. I don't think anyone invites someone to a pvp group that they know is bad. Which means, that they will often be successful when queing by themselves. And depending on the time of day, I'll solo queue a bunch and often end up with the same folks on my team over and over. Not because we are grouped up, but because we are on the same schedule. We finish a WZ and all immediately queue again for the next one. So, we end up in the same group. Sometimes if it's imp v. imp, folks will get switched around and back and forth. It's just the nature of the solo queue. Bottom line is this. The argument that folks have for hating premades are based on these misconceptions: 1. Always a perfect trinity. 2. Always perfectly coordinating attacks via voice communication. 3. Never solo queue. 4. Do it specifically to roflstomp the other team and if it's ever a fair fight, they stop queing. When, in actuality, all four of those are rarer than you might think. And for sure all four together. As has been said over and over in this thread, most premades are just groups of friends/guildies who enjoy playing together who understand general pvp strategy and are decent players. They are frequently just chatting about life and silliness if in voice comms at all. And certainly aren't refusing to queue without the trinity. And as for the if you want to take it seriously, go queue for ranked, well I get that too. But sometimes folks want to play actual objective WZs, and not just deathmatches. It seems your time would be better spent in a couple of ways: 1. Talking to EA/Bioware about bringing back Ranked WZs (not just arenas), instead of complaining about premades. Then the premades would likely queue for those and leave the solo queues to you. 2. Talking to your teammates in lowbies and midbies, to encourage them to learn tactics and their class. Help people out. That would help everyone more in the long run. Just my 2 cents.
  5. Funny. You accuse me of bullspit, but then continually spout silliness in your posts, while avoiding direct questions and ignoring legitimate suggestions. 1. My point was the FOTM is fickle. It changes. Hence the M (which stands for month). So, when you say FOTM, I'm not certain what you mean. Sorc healers? PTs? Rage Maras? Those of us that have toons of all classes will always be accused of being FOTM for playing our toons. Because, oddly enough, we generally play them all at one point or another. However, I would agree if you're talking about a current composition of say all PTs and Sorcs. 2. I'm talking about human nature, because you said you didn't care about videos of people playing pvp because it wasn't on your server. I was merely pointing out to you, which you clearly missed, that people in general are not going to be that much different from server to server. So any video would likely accurately show how groups on voice chat behave, no matter the server. Because of general human nature, particularly in video games. 3. That's now the third time you've avoided my question. Do you quit out of principle if you're on the team with the premade? Because I'm certain not every single match ends with the other side quitting and the match ending in 120 seconds. And if you don't quit every time, then you're a hypocrite. And if you do, and/or the match ends early, then you're going to end up in the same situation, since that premade will be queing right back up with you. But I guess you missed that point, too. 4. It's not a common fact that most regs are bad. It's generally a pretty good mix. But your plan of always quitting when there's a premade, won't help anything. It won't help those bads get better. It won't help the average ones get good. It won't help the good ones get great. Only practice and playing against people of equal or greater skill will do that. But if you really feel that strongly about it, then take that time avoiding premades and jump in lowbies and teach some of the new people from the beginning about tactics and strategies. Instead of just quitting because you think you might get farmed. I don't disagree that the matchmaking could use some work. It stinks to have three healers on one side and one healer on the other, even in pugs. But use that to your advantage. Learn to keep an eye on your healer. Peel for him/her. Throw out a guard or a taunt to limit their damage. Help them become a better healer. And when it's your turn to defend, you might find that since they have 2 fewer dps than you, it will be tougher for them to get you down and take the node. As for the carrying comment, I was more or less responding to this: If I misinterpreted that post, my apologies. And finally, how do you know I'm not on your server? I haven't mentioned which server I'm on and neither have you. I have toons on many different servers, so there's a good chance we might be on the same server at some point...
  6. 1. I'm curious, which ones are FOTM in your opinion. I have multiple 65s and legendary status, so I guess that makes me FOTM, since no matter which toon I play, I'm sure you'd accuse me of only using the most powerful toon at the moment. Despite the fact that I may have already completed the PVP daily/weekly on my other toons and it's just time for this one. But okay. 2. Because people and human nature, as a whole, are completely different on your server. Got it. Couldn't possibly be similar across servers, could it? Or are you just on the super focused, farm only server? And which server is that? Or, you could take the spirit of my suggestion and search for your server specifically, rather than dismissing it out of hand. 3. And if it doesn't end in 120 seconds? Do you stay in? Because, as I said, if you do, you're a hypocrite. And if you don't, well, if it ends early, you're just right back in the queue with the same premade again. 4. And that is why your pug gets facerolled. Not because of some arbitrary premade, but because your pugs are bad. As I pointed out in the rest of my previous post, good pugs can compete with premades. And it doesn't take that much effort to learn the WZs and how to play them. I love how you talk about carrying pug teams as if it's impossible. Some of my favorite matches have been with pugs against a premade and someone exactly like you quits as soon as the other team gets ahead on the objective. Then someone backfills who actually knows what they are doing, and we end up winning. So, it's not about carrying a team, it's about actually trying and helping your team with the objectives. And not just quitting because "premades are just here to farm."
  7. Well, to be fair, you also want all premades to leave the game. Maybe so that you have "more of a challenge" against the baddies you're complaining about? At least be consistent.
  8. Okay, then lets look at it from your perspective. You solo que with a bunch of strangers and find yourself in a match with what you determine is a premade. You encourage your whole team to quit. They do. Warzone ends early. Everyone leaves WZ and queues again. They'll just be right back in the same situation. If you want to avoid playing with premades, you're actually better off just leaving by yourself (so the WZ doesn't end early) and immediately requeing. You'll have a better chance of jumping in with a completely different set of folks. And just for argument's sake, are you leaving the WZ when you're on the same team as the premade? You know, to show them that premades shouldn't be allowed? Because, if you're not, then you're being pretty hypocritical. As for the "premades coordinating attacks on voicechat and facerolling noobs," well, I encourage you to actually watch some videos of pvp players who are grouped with friends. With few exceptions, most of the time they are just chatting with friends and playing the game. Not coordinating attacks. Save for a quick call out if they are defending a node, which can and should be done in pug group, but almost never is. I've been on both sides. I've played in premades with friends and guildies. Sometimes we are against other premades (including another group from our own guild who are also in TS with us), and sometimes we are against pugs. Sometimes the pugs are good, and sometimes they are bad. And I've been on at different times queing by myself. Same situations apply. Sometimes I'm in a total pug, sometimes I end up with a small premade on my team. And sometimes we are against premades and sometimes we are against pugs, both good and bad. If the pugs know what they are doing and are competent, the matches are at least competitive. Two key points to take away (which have been mentioned already): 1. Not all premades are good. Trust me, I've seen some premade groups who are in the same guild and they are awful and easily beaten. 2. Not all pugs are bad. Especially when those pugs are filled with competent players who know strategies and how to play.
  9. I have a ton of Courting gifts, too, and I'm waiting for Bio/EA to fix the bug regarding those gifts. Even my pre-KOTFE toons are having issues with Courting gifts, when they should be "love" level. As for Republic Memorabilia gifts, there are a couple options. M1-4x (pub side) and two of the Star Fortress companions. I also pulled Kira back from the void on my knight and they work well for her.
  10. This exactly. For a bit more of a breakdown: Republic (6 individual comps back): Knight- 1 comp back (T7) Consular- 1 comp back (Qyzen) Smuggler- 1 comp back (Bowdaar) Trooper- 3 comps back (M1-4X, Aric, Yuun) and 1 sighting (Tanno) Empire (12 individual comps back): Warrior- 3 comps back ( Pierce, Vette, Broonmark) Inquisitor- 2 comps back (Xalek, Talos) and 1 replacement comp back (Usar, instead of Khem) Agent- 3 comps back (Scorpio, Lokin, Kaliyo) Bounty Hunter- 3 comps back (Blizz, Gault, Torian) Now, sure, every Outlander gets every single one of these companions back, but come on. When the empire companions outnumber the republic companions 2 to 1, there is a clear issue. And if you don't include the Trooper, who has the most comp sightings of any class, then it jumps to 4 to 1. This is absurd, even from a storytelling perspective.
  11. I assume it's totally random, but I don't know. I've got three toons to full 20 influence with each Allied Supply companion, and I still have a few pieces that are missing from sets. A Yavin belt (knight), and two Underworld belts (Agent and Smuggler), plus several Resurrected items. Not sure if there is a different drop rate for each set, or if I'm just getting unlucky with RNG.
  12. A couple of the sets are pretty cool, I think. The aforementioned Underworld Knight Set (with updated hood down version) is my favorite Jedi set. And before the change to the "Start at 60" armor, from legacy to bind on pickup, I used it for a bunch of folks. But couldn't use it on Imp side, because it was faction specific. With Remnant (bind on legacy) gear, you can use it on either faction. Some of the other sets that I use regularly are the Underworld Agent set (or at least the chest), and the Yavin Warrior set. Some of the smuggler sets are actually decent as well, along with some of the Bounty Hunter and Trooper sets. I'd love to see a hood down version of the Dreadguard Knight chest. Here's hoping one is in the works! Side note, anyone else having trouble finishing off the Resurrected sets? Those are the ones I seem to have the most trouble with.
  13. So, I was doing my usual turn ins for supply crates (since I have a few final pieces to get before I have all the sets completed) and noticed that I got a Remnant Underworld Knight Chest with the hood down. I already had the one with the hood up, so I was quite surprised. Just wanted to say thank you for updating that piece and/or putting in a second version with the hood down! I've been wanting it for my Imp side characters for quite some time. But since the start at 60 armors were faction specific, I couldn't get the set with the hood down until now. So, a huge thank you once again! Any chance some of the other sets will have hood down versions?
  14. Yeah, it's the same with Ch. 13 with Gault. At least with 12 you were still on Odessen. Hahaha.
  15. It's not a huge issue, but is there any way to turn that off? It's a minor annoyance that if there is a new chapter available that my toon hasn't finished, it automatically starts whenever I go to Odessen. For example, Chapter 13 hasn't been started on a toon. I run through some heroics with him and just want to turn in the boxes to the allies (Hylo, Sana, etc.). I use the travel to ally (via the allies tool) and instead of appearing near him/her as usual, the new chapter cut scene auto starts. If I esc to stop the cut scene, I'm moved out of the HQ section and can't get to the allies. So, basically, you have to go through the cut scene to start the chapter, then just not go to the next step in order to turn in boxes to the allies (Alien Research, Ancient Artifacts, etc.). Like I said, it's not a huge issue, it's just an annoyance, which should be easily fixable. Either have the start button be the way to start the new chapter, and/or have the triangle over the proper person to start the chapter. Just remove the auto start when traveling to Odessen. Anyone else running into this issue? Or am I alone in being annoyed by this?
