  1. star wars fans who were born after Episode 3 was released in theatres.
  2. Doctor Zee! Noo! /le sigh Have no fear, Dr. Z .. no matter where you go, Minsc and Boo stand ready!
  3. QFT. "the customer is always right" is merely a way of being polite about telling the customer that "all we care about is you spending money here." the fact of the matter is, the customer is almost always wrong and in need of education. to that end, customer service is geared for the sole purpose of making you informed enough to open your wallet and feel empowered about doing so. salespeople are much tricksier than you think.
  4. you should listen to what people say. open world pvp is nothing more than a few random skirmishes if you are lucky enough to be around with a large group of people when another large group from the opposing faction are around, otherwise, it is one side or the other bulldozing one or two people on their way to a world boss or what have you. honestly, you are not missing much. that said, y'all shoulda rolled on pvp servers to begin with regardless, because having the option to kill someone is what it is all about. especially when you can kill filthy do-gooder republicans.
  5. um, but (for example) a sorc and an assassin have the same class quests ... you just approach the quests with different strategies.
  6. why is it so bad to want to be able to experience a different play style without having to grind through all the same content again, when you ought to be able to earn appropriate gear through in game action? if you change careers, do you have to go through puberty all over again and re-learn who you are as a person? why should respecs be any different?
  7. maybe because he doesn't hate the game and the developers but is sincerely upset at being betrayed by them when he earnestly looked forward to the promises made by said developer, and how has a chip on his shoulder because that developer has lost his faith and trust, all-the-while he continues to be vocal and aggressive in his opinions BECAUSE he still cares enough to want to see the game he was promised come to fruition someday? maybe.
  8. i would counter that it is teh development community who has bought into the attitude that "no gamer will ever be truly satisfied" that has gradually distanced gamers and teh developers within these kinds of communities. people have always complained, that is internet/human nature, but in the past people were directly involved with their developers through the community forums and people felt, even if they didn't get their way, that their input mattered. I point you to FunCom's *excellent* customer service and community initiatives behind Anarchy Online as an example. FunCom released one of the worst MMOs, then listened to the community, worked with them, and turned the game around (WITH a subscription model) to become one of the most enjoyable and engrossing MMO experiences to date. people don't feel that way any more.
  9. i do want to say, in BW's defense, that it is EA who pulls the strings whilst catering to teh focus groups and shareholders. BW, for better or worse, are simply doing their jobs by doing what they are told to do by the powers-that-be. that in itself is a whole 'nother can of worms, however ...
  10. ya, we certainly don't need to hear the problems of the 50+ million people in north america who live below the poverty line with little education to back them with eloquent responses to the debacles of governance, either. it's the same sentiment.
  11. this is a very level headed rebuttal. especially the portion in bold. i think, however, that subbers still have the right to be upset about that "little effect on quality" because the product they have already paid for has not delivered the promises and expectations that have already been paid for. the game-as-it-is does not, in it's current state, even live up to launch promises, so we have been paying for half a year to play less than we paid for, only to beta test a product so that people can come and play it for free. that's what i'm most ticked about, regarding F2P. Other than that, I am okay with F2P because I do not want to continue paying a subscription fee for static content. It is similar to subscribing to National Geographic and getting the same issue for 3 months in a row. And I don't mean quartly issues, I mean the same issue for three months before a new one comes out and all that has changed is the cover photo, advertisements, and "letter from the editor." wouldn't you cancel your sub too? as an informed consumer, isn't that your responsibility?
  12. imo, paying subscribers should not have to buy ANYTHING from the cartel store, it should be provided to subscribers because they are already paying. if all that a subscription gets you is unlimited WZ and OPS/FP, then no one should subscribe, you are being fleeced. the only thing the cartel store should offer to subscribers are services like name changes, server transfers, and the like.
  13. This thread is strikingly similar to the following thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=476966 I would hate to see anyone's input deleted when the forum executioners come around to cull duplicate threads, so please, let's keep it all in one place so that we have more hutzpah as a community
  14. not letting this thread get lost in the shuffle. these are the real, legitimate reasons why people are upset, not the canned responses that the exit survey requests.
  15. you may want to look up the difference between insight and incite. also, the only thing that TOR CRMs are lacking that WoW CRMs had are Murlocs. At least TOR CRMs have grammar and punctuation.
