  1. Not when you have to pay to open up all your strong holds again or setup your guild the way you had it. Let alone if you have a guild for both rep & imperial, which doubles the cost. These things should have been addressed if they wanted to limit the credits to 15 million. 25 million would have been the sweet spot. And what they should have done is limit transfer OFF Shae Vizla for 6 months to stop people getting cheap stuff & leaving again.
  2. And unless your character isnt already lvl 80, you can’t open it up before you move. That lvl 80 requirement is absolutely BS 🤬
  3. I’ve already run out of credits. Having to pay credits again to open up Strong Holds, guild banks & guild ships should have all been considered when deciding on the transfer cap. I’ve had to decide whether to forgo strong holds or guild ammenities. I’m pretty disappointed. Many of us spent the time calculating the sweet spot & the devs refused to listen. $25 million was it if anyone is interested. Honestly, I’ve spent more credits on the old servers buying stuff to bring with me than I thought. But I’ll still be leaving several billion credits there that will never be used again. So I guess they did sort of win the credit sink game of taking billions out of play on some of the older servers. I hope they are pleased with themselves because it’s also turned me off playing the game. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way.
  4. Later this week is now 😉. It’s Good Friday here in Australia already. Which means they have about 20 hours to go till they are off for a 4 day weekend.
  5. They have 1 lvl 80 sniper & 3 other lvl 75 alts & a few lower lvl alts. I think they have 8 characters altogether.
  6. Asking for a friend. What is the most efficient route starting from scratch that DOES NOT include Ops? It can include PvP, GSF, FP, Conquest & Heroics.
  7. For it to actually be released with a bunch of playable content & fixes to all the issues that 6.x & 7.x have had.
  8. We explained this over & over & over to the Broadsword devs & management team. They just don’t listen or maybe don’t understand the situation. Regardless, this could have been avoided with some proper marketing strategies & proper free transfers for returning & current players when the server first opened. The devs & management did this to themselves. I’m not sure I’d want to explain this debacle to the hire ups who only look at spread sheets & money. Sadly, I think the hire ups will just decide to cut back staff again or finances or finally pull the plug and the hard working devs who have no say in the management of the game will lose their jobs first, while other less capable ones fail upwards 😞. If only the real hire ups actually came and read all our player feedback and other analysis on YouTube, Twitch & other SM instead. Maybe things would be different. Such a shame they didn’t sell the game to Square Enix.
  9. It also works if you PvP too. One quick 5 min arena & it’s done.
  10. Blow up Belsavis, Voss or Hoth. All planets I hate questing on 😂
  11. STO has been a fun diversion for us. It’s come a long way since we last played it several years ago. BS only have themselves to blame as more people find more fun & better value elsewhere.
  12. I think it must depend on the server. But it’s good to see at least one guild still doing it. This is true outside of a guild setting. I’ve tried lots of times to help people & rarely have people listened or thanked me. I think you need to get them into the guild first & have the backing of the guild leadership to create the right environment for them to want to take instruction. Alternatively, if you can get a bunch of players who like PvP together, they don’t even need to be in your guild or grouped, then you can duel on your guild ship or Strong hold between matches. We used to do that & try different attacks & priorities against each other. Then the queue would pop & some of us would be on opposite teams. It made for really fun matches.
  13. Most PvP oriented guilds left the game years ago. And those small niche guilds that remained were basically driven from the game when BS got rid of ranked PvP. You won’t find any dedicated PvP guilds remaining now. So it’s unrealistic to expect guilds to train players that mostly focus on conquest these days. BW/BS also removed most of the incentives to PvP as you lvl up. This used to be the prime brackets to train new pvpers in. When I belonged to PvP guilds back during the 2.x-4.x game period, we never trained newbies at the max lvl PvP bracket. If they couldn’t learn in lowbies & mids, we would not let them join our guilds. They had to prove themselves there first. And during the 4.x period of the game, I was one of guilds lowbie/mids trainers. It’s one of the reasons why I have so many Alts because I was constantly making new ones to lvl up with newbie pvpers. Im a firm believer that PvP should be learnt as you lvl or you should at least reroll the same class separately & only PvP on that Alt to lvl it. That way you learn the maps, tactics & strategies from lvl 10 onwards. You also learn the keybinds properly & the strengths & weaknesses of not only your class, but those you are playing against. Most newbie pvpers these days don’t know what a DCD is or half their abilities, let alone what the map strategies or tactics are. But they think they can jump straight into end game PvP & perform. Where all they are doing is degrading the experience for those in the game & themselves. Effectively dumbing down end game PvP for everyone involved. Sadly, the dev team are once again to blame for this situation. They purposely guide all players to end game content as fast as they can & that includes PvP too. They’ve taken away the majority of reasons to PvP as you level up & they encourage newbie pvpers to dive into end game PvP with zero experience. This wouldn’t be as huge a problem if we still had a large player base of dedicated pvpers. But because they drive most of them from the game, there is now an over abundance of newbs in endgame who can’t tell their arm pit from their you know what. And sadly they don’t know enough to even realise how bad they all are. The one good thing I’ve enjoyed about SV opening is people starting to PvP from scratch. The quality of pvpers is actually higher on SV than it is on SF or SS. But that will probably also change over time as more people transfer high lvl alts over. IMO, devs need to highly incentivise lowbie & mids as the place to learn to PvP. Myself & others have suggested many ways to do this over the last several years. But all of those ideas continue to fall on deaf ears. Which means the quality of pvpers will never improve & will probably continue to decline as we predicted after 5.x dropped. PvP is dying from poor dev design decisions & lack of attention.
  14. I think you missed the point. We weren’t talking about the regs queue, we were talking about a possible 8v8 ranked queue. My point was that a ranked 8v8 queue only works if it is set up as a solo queue. There really isn’t enough players for a group queue too. And to be frank, I’m not even sure there are enough people to have 8v8 ranked either. BW/BS made sure of that when they drove the majority of ranked players from the game. And while I would love an 8v8 solo ranked format, realistically they aren’t going to do it & there aren’t enough players to add another PvP queue. What they could do to add some form of competitive play back into the game is adjust the current 8v8 & 4v4 system. Give everyone seperate ELO’s for queuing solo & premade for both arena & WZ’s. Reduce the premade size limits back to 4 man for WZ’s & make it 2 man for Arena. Then adjust the algorithm to force premades v premades. One suggestion I read was if solo players are put in a pre-made game & they lose, then it should not affect their ranking. If a pre-made wins against solo players, it doesn’t increase ranking. It only increases if they play other premades. But if the premade loses to solo players they do lose ranking. To get around most casual people being shy about their public rankings, only the top 100 players (regardless of which Alt character they use) would have their ranking on the website. Anyone else wanting their rank public would have to opt in for that to happen. You would always be able to see your own rank & ELO per character, but others wouldn’t be able to see it unless you choose to share it. This way you get a version of ranked without calling it ranked or needing a seperate queue. They can work out rewards to correspond with PvP seasons or run this between seasons as an extra thing to keep people pvping between seasons.
