  1. Pretty much this. It's not adding credits to the economy, just redistributing them thanks to greater supply. It amazes me how many people complain about a ruined economy without understanding what's actually going on.
  2. More or less this. To me, maps aren't where the fun comes in. When it comes to PvP, at least as far as I'm concerned, the other players are the content.
  3. Largely the same. We've lost the double PS windows, but now we have OA on demand and BS comes off CD 1.5 seconds before PS. That gives you about 5 seconds between windows to keep your Cauterize dot going while you make sure you have the right amount of focus and an OA proc for the next PS window.
  4. I switched from my Tythonian Force Master Sabers to the Nightlife sabers. My main is a body type 1 female and holding those sabers and riding the Rancor make her look positively tiny!
  5. Thanks for the answer. In the long run I just wanted to see if it was viable, as I have a strong commitment to my guild. I felt it would be unfair to other guilds, which is why I wondered here first. Above all, my enjoyment from this game comes from helping others just have fun. If I have to chill with SM runs, that's fine.
  6. I must have misphrased my intent. I want to run my main through HM content without removing her from the guild. If it comes to a choice between running the Operations or staying in the guild, I will choose the guild. That's my question on fairness.
  7. Now, just before I toss this out there, I want to say this is a question about what you feel is fair. As some of you may know, I run a modest social guild. I like that atmosphere and I intend to keep it that way, as there are many members who are more comfortable with that. I have several members who even have toons in other guilds to run progression ops, but they often spend a good amount of time still chatting in our guild's custom channel even if they are on their progression toon. I like this, I wouldn't trade it for the world. The only problem is that, while I'm happy to see guild mates able to play the game in a manner that suits them with no pressure, I'm starting to feel a bit of pressure for me in the lack of personal challenge. We've tried to do progression inside the guild several times, but it puts a lot of pressure that seeps out into the general guild chatter that sours the atmosphere that I've been careful to nurture. Now, I consider myself pretty quick to learn, and I even have decent gear, and think that I'd do at least okay in a progression group, but I don't want to leave my own guild. Do you think it would be unfair to try and get my main, an easily replaceable Combat Sentinel, into a progression group with a different guild while maintaining my leadership of LotR? Or do you think there are guilds out there that would be content with that arrangement?
  8. Right? I step away from the forums for a little while, and my post has been overtaken by a lore argument. Let's get back on track, people! Our class is bleeding players, and I want to know what everyone thinks will bring players back!
  9. I misspoke. I didn't mean to say members of another guild in general. What I had meant to say was that if you have a bad experience stemming from a social interaction with another player, it colors your view of that particular players guild, and if you manage to end up grouped with one of those other members, it can color the experience in a bad way.
  10. Touché. It's one of our alt guilds. I have a feeling you didn't quite get the intent of my original post. Rivalries are fine, and can enhance the experience. However, when you get into a group, and one of the members just seems to randomly blurt out "great, another <guild> [f-bomb]tard," it can be very off-putting and even ruin what would have otherwise been a good experience.
  11. That is exactly what I'm doing with all of my alts. I ran it pure with my knight, but now I'm going to be leveling to 55 with my alts then pounding out the class story quickly so that it remains coherent. Luckily the knight story was memorable enough as it was to remain coherent the first time.
  12. Hi guys and gals, I'm the GM of <Light of the Republic>. I just wanted to hop on to say that I've noticed an alarming trend of players to badmouth other guilds if they see them in the same group. I talked with another GM about this and I let him know that I've talked to my members about this situation. For my guild, the following Rule is now in effect: You can dislike a player all you want, but try to give a guild the benefit of the doubt. If someone trash talks our guild, do not retaliate, just continue business as usual. <Lite of the Republic> and <Light of the Empire> will be following the same rule. I wouldn't presume to tell other GMs what to do, but as the leader of a social guild, I generally want people to have fun, and not have extra stress when they see that they are paired up with the members of another guild. I hope you all share the same desire, and we can move on together in cooperation.
  13. Light of the Republic is still around, with a good handful of our Dalborra members still in officer positions.
  14. I think you misunderstood the nature of my original post. I'm not angry that we're not landsliding other classes by 300-400 dps anymore. The thing that's been disconcerting is that every time the devs roll out across the board balance changes, it invariably includes a buff to pretty much every other class while Sentinels and Marauders are often left receiving minor nerf after minor nerf. Much of the time it's not warranted, as most complaints about one class or another being overpowered is based mostly on the fact that the whiners don't understand how to play their own class. Not asking for a buff, really. It seems like, by and large, the devs are removing RNG from the procs that serve as the central point upon which any given spec is built. It would be nice if they could do that for each of the specs, including combat and watchman, to help bring dps into a more controllable platform than RNG can supply.
