Thanks, both of you. That answered my questions and introduced me to the "Legacy" screen (which I don't think was around last time I played).

Not a new player but returning after about five years, so I've forgotten everything ^^ I created characters on Satele Shan. I previously had characters on Star Forge. My Republic character gets a message when she gets to a datacron on Coruscant indicating that the datacron has already been grabbed. However, it's not showing up as a codex entry. I check my old character on Star Forge and she has the codex entry for the datacron. Do the stats for the datacrons belong to the account rather than the server? If so, why don't they show up in the new server's Codex? Thanks!

My gosh... this worked! I had inconsistent frame rates, sometimes it would be very jerky and then smooth out after 30 minutes or so. When I logged on tonight, the performance was laggy. I remember this post, dug it up (not easy without a search function), looked at the helpful images posted by a couple of people, clicked a few things, and lo! instant smooth game. It may not help everyone, but it was useful for me. I vote "sticky" for this thread.

Ah, the great disappearing search bar. Not sure why, but sometimes it's there, sometimes not. I'd REALLY like to see it back as well!

I was really happy to see the lag on Taris fixed! That drove me crazy when I was there. I was avoiding leveling other characters because Taris was so laggy. Time to create some new characters!

Got to the part where he initiated actual contact ... about 2000 affection points ago. He's clammed up since. I'm at 6195 affection now, and he's not talkative. According to some videos on YouTube, I got to conversation 10 and through personal side quest one... there should be a couple more side quests and more... um, contact. I'll hit cap before he makes another move, I swear...

Is it possible to see if the name you want is available on a server before rolling a character? A search feature or something? I've hit ten servers since getting early access (YAY! EARLY ACCESS!) this morning. I'm trying to get a particular name and I keep getting "name unavailable." If there's a list of "names you can't use," that would also be useful. It's from a past Bioware game. I was able to use it during the test weekends, so I assume it's not breaking any rules.
