  1. ITT: someone trying to present gearfarming based pvp system as a good thing.
  2. 2 scrubs who either never played daoc, the best pvp mmo out there, (in which case we should feel sorry for them) or they were horrible at it, got rolled all day err day and probably whined about "STRAFING" (in which case we should laugh at them). On topic these days daoc has the gearing system nicely done. You can buy artifacts and master levels with bounty points or glass that drops on powerleveling spots, dragon gear for dragon scales which you can farm solo with no problems and everything else you can buy off the auction house (including glass and dragon scales). Combine that with the fact that there is no binding items on pickup/equip and you have a magnificent system focused entirely on pvp. Too bad there is only around 5k subscribers left.
  3. "farming medals" is a bad excuse for bad players. You can be top in medal count by playing the objectives. And yes OP, I know what you are talking about. 90% of the opposing faction players on my server are scrubs like that. Farming these horribles doesn't even remotely feel like fun. I'm not even playing premades anymore.

    I love it how people are talking here about daoc in the past sense when that game with its 3k playerbase has better pvp than all current mmos combined together.
  5. It takes OP 3 seconds to target, press interrupt and retarget his previous target. He is clearly at an advantage.

Why should I say something new when you didn't argue against the fact that focus macro makes the game easier and less complex other than saying that the complexity removed by addition of focus macro is "artificial raising of the skill cap" which is not an argument at all? Writing a wall of text in which you say absolutely nothing is not supporting your arguments.
  9. My argument is that it simplifies the game, which it does. Your argument was "it adds depth to the game" with an attached "targeting is artificial raising of skill cap" when you got in over your head.
  10. Yes I missed that quote. Still it doesn't mean macros that you are asking for will be available, might just be simple things. That is not an improved system, it is a system that removes a mechanic from the game and makes it even more simplified than it already is. About clicking, what is there to adress? Do you want me to go in another direction saying something in the lines of "if we get macros which make the game easier why don't we just get AI bots to play the game for us"? Are you going to keep repeating yourself even though it has been already argued that macros you are proposing are taking away complexity from the game?
  11. You got those two mixed up, focus macro is the artificial thing here, targeting multiple targets and using different skills on them is a normal thing, nothing artificial about that. And ofcourse it feels clunky to you when you never did that, you had the easy way of doing that so far which doesn't require much skill and speed. And no you couldn't use that argument, because this game is meant to be played with mouse and keyboard. Skills are assigned to keys by default (1-12). Now you claim that this game was not intended to be played without mouseover and focus macro, and that they already said that they are implementing it, yet you haven't backed that up with any quotes or links whatsoever.
  12. Artificial? Are you serious? So apparently targeting people in a game is just an artificial way of increasing that games skill cap. If reaction time really isn't your problem (which I doubt after that post) but the buggy hitboxes don't you think then that the priority should be fixing hitboxes instead of implementing macros as a workaround?

  14. Oh wow, just WOW. I mean all your comments were similar to this, but this takes the cake. Imagine, macros make the difference between good and bad players bigger. That is not only a big pile of BS but it's exactly the opposite of what the reality is. If a good and a bad player use macros the gap is smaller between them than it would be without macros, because macros nullify some of that advantage a good player has (reaction speed, multitasking etc.).
