  1. It was the dramatic extravert set. For full disclosure, and in defence of SWTOR Support; following the posting of this thread, support did contact me and did accommodate in finding a satisfactory solution to this specific incident (which did not entail the unlocking of this set though). That said, the dev's views and the views I received through support are still diametrically opposed, and I still don't understand the rationale behind the exclusion of account-wide unlocks through reputation vendors. It would be great if the many players that have reported this issue could get some clarity on it, so that it can be put to rest once and for all.
  2. If you've ever wondered whether items from the reputation vendor should unlock in the collections, you would come to the following thread where a Dev answered this question: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=734593&page=2 "Excellent question, and I apologize for the delay - I wanted to make sure I had all of the information before answering. The bug is that some reputation items are NOT unlocking. They should unlock the item in Collections for you. I've passed this along to the team for them to look at." However. After spending a fortune getting the correct amount of reputation (from cartel packs) and 8 cartel market certificates (from cartel packs), a full set of reputation vendor armor did not unlock in my collection. Enter support: [...]We have investigated the error you reported, and have confirmed with our specialist team that in fact this is not a bug, and is working as designed. While there may be some exceptions to this rule, the items sold from the reputation vendors are not supposed to unlock in the collections. The only ones that should will be listed under the Cartel Reputation header in the collections window. Anything else must be found within a cartel pack or purchased directly from the cartel market. [...] --------------------- Dear SWTOR, please advise players what it is - one, or the other. But you can't have players going online, finding out the answer, only to later hear that this answer is wrong. If these items should not unlock, please offer a solution to those who - in line with the entire cartel market philosophy - expected these items to unlock in their collection. Personally, I would not have even considered getting a full set of reputation vendor armor if it did come with a collection unlock.
  3. No it's not, it just lacks formatting and the grammar is off. The content should be fully understandable to any sage/sorc. FYI, he was referring to: (1) the 1.2 changes regarding cast time of our biggest heal, which is now nearly unusable in competitive PvP due to its length (3 seconds unspecced, 2.5 seconds specced); (2) the 1.2 changes regarding the 30% healing debuff of sentinels, which used to be removable through our "cleanse" skill, but after 1.2 is no longer removable. (3) the conveyance skill bug, which allowed for so called "double dipping", ie. using the benefit of the conveyance skill twice in a row - when it was meant to be used only once. Many have speculated this was due to the inability to code the Hero Engine (which drives SWTOR) in the desired way. (4) the points spent in our seer tree that are supposed to prevent that heals are slowed and eventually interrupted as a result of enemy attacks; spending these three skillpoints does not entirely prevent this. However, "damage skills" of almost all (or all?) other classes are not slowed or intterrupted in the same manner. He could have added that there a 30% trauma heal debuff, but no 30% trauma DPS debuff. He could have added that, since 1.2, the expertise stat buffs DPS by 25%, and healing by 17%, giving DPS an 8 % advantage over DPS. He could have added that a sentinel can - and will - debuff a sage/sorcs healing by 30 percent, but there is no way for them to debuff a DPS. You're now already looking at a 68% advantage of DPS versus healing. In competitive PvP, there is simply no way to overcome that gap. The only way to half-way cross that gap is to not spec 31 points in the heal tree, but to spec in a hybrid instead - in the hope of sometimes surviving. He could have added that all DPS have skills to increase their damage output by X %, but that sages/sorces do not have any skill to increase their healing output by X % (No, I am not talking about "crit" increases, as both DPS and Healers have those skills across the board.) He could have added that all classes but the sage/sorc have defensive cooldowns (a skill that temporarily severely lowers incoming damage) - but that a sages/sorc, the squishiest no.1 target with the lowest amount of armor (ie. damage reduction) does not. Perhaps you say: but tanks have a DPS debuff! Yes, but that debuff applies across the board, and is not particular to the sage/sorc situation in any way whatsoever. Perhaps you say: a sage/sorc cannot be alone, "new story", L2P! OK, so we're supposed to come with a tank, right? By that logic, a DPS is supposed to come with a healer, right? So let's remove the defensive cooldowns of all DPS classes, so that they are actually dependent on bringing a healer in the same manner a sage/sorc should be "dependent" on a tank. Community reaction: "Oh noes!". "We can't have that!, that's not fair". Or, even worse: "We should always win from a sage/sorc in 1 vs 1!". Now THAT is the dumbest and most illogical statement I have seen on this forum. And repeatedly, too, adding insult to injury. Again, look at the sage/sorc forum "feedback thread" I pointed out (initiated by the devs) of people - like myself - who have played this class for at least 200 hundred hours in PvP. I am not the first to point out these deficiencies. Please ask yourself: why do you think the "1.2 sorc nerf" thread, on the PTS forum of 1.2, had more views than all previous forum threads combined? Well, because it was clear then, and it is clear now, that with 1.2 the devs killed the sage/sorc class, but most importantly - they killed the logic and FUN. You can't see that in metrics outputs. You can, however, see it in massive subscription cancellations of those same people, which contributed in a massive way to the subsequent empty, dead servers. /Rant off. /Rant on: Before you ask, or consider posting something personal rather than factual: I do have 3 alts, and all of them have been able to kill any sorc, of any level, without any particular skill involved. In fact, my level 14 alt has very little skills on the actual skillbar, but has had no trouble killing lvl 41-49 sorcs 1 vs 1.
  4. If you want to know why you will see less and less sages and sorcs, look over here: sages: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=505806 sorcs: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=505808 The devs asked players of each class to comment on: 1. How do you think your Sorcerer spec is perceived by other classes? 2. How do you perceive your own spec? The common answers from high rated PvP heal sages and sorcs of various servers are: 1. Squishy. A free kill. 2. Same as 1. Not able to survive 3 gcd's without a pocket tank. Playing a PvP healing sage/sorc is no longer fun, especially in rated. My main: sage, full war hero everything, fully augmented everything. Rank 85. I agree with all of the above comments of my fellow sorcs/sages, and would add: illogical skilltree. I will retire from SWTOR soon for this very reason. I am simply tired of trying to explain to Bioware what is wrong with the class - and why. Buttercake, FOTN (before: Buttercup, Basilisk Droid).
  5. The other day, I solo'd a lvl 47 sorc with my green geared lvl 11 vanguard. Both on full health. I won with random button pressing. That's how bad it is. I have a sharpshooter, who can kill any sorc with 4 random buttons. I have a guardian, who can do it with 4 to 5 buttons (although not random). I have a fully warhero geared (fully augmented) rank 85 sage that is pulp in 2 seconds against any coordinated team. No defensive cooldowns, no "oh ****" button. Ever since 1.2, sage pvp is messed up. And it's so illogical, too. As others have pointed out, (1) the expertise stat boosts DPS far more than healing, (2) Healing has a 30 % trauma debuff, but DPS has no 30 percent DPS debuff, (3) DPS can apply a "heal debuff", but healers cannot aply a "DPS debuff" (4) DPS have defensive cooldowns, healers don't (5) An equally geared sage/sorc cannot outheal an equally geared DPS; (6) healers are somehow supposed to come with a pocket tank, while no other class is dependent on another class in the same manner (as someone pointed out, if sages are supposed to be dependent on tanks, than DPS are supposed to be dependent on healers, right? So why don't we remove all defensive cooldowns from DPS... ) (7) No logic in the sage/sorc healtree (you should always be on the move, but your heals require you to stand still? *** kind of logic is that for a pvp healer?) Sages/Sorcs have been utterly shafted in PvP since 1.2. The 1.2 PTS thread had over 5k posts. Other than the "This thread is too long, we're making a new one", not a single post was from Bioware. I have no illusion this thread will be any different.
  6. I have experienced the following, which I reported over 20 times now during the last 4 months. I die in a warzone. However, when I respawn, I'm still dead. As I'm dead, I can't get out of the spawn area and get kicked from the warzone. /stuck does nothing to fix it, It happened 4 months ago, when I reported it. It still happens, even during rated warzones. Not only does this kill my own rating, but that of my team as well; as a full Waro Hero geared healer, if I get kicked from a rated warzone, my team can say bye bye to a victory in RWZ. This bug is not in the list of known issues. I have gotten the same nonsensical response every time, which tells me absolutely nothing about what is being done, if at all. Oh, and yes, Bioware, i used the term "ignored" in the title. If it takes more than 4 months to fix a bug like this, I don't think any other term would be appropriate. And I don't want you to "fix" it like you did with the ops frame (people missing in the ops frame anyone? Mmmmm, that's been, what, a problem for healers for over a year?) Anyone else experienced this stuff? Is there anything I can do to avoid it, or to fix it? ( /stuck does not fix it. Refreshing the UI does not fix it.)
  7. Bioware, honestly: THANK YOU!!!! I'm really happy to wait. Number 500, but I don't give a rat's $%#$. I'm more than happy to wait, because when I log in, I get thrown into a full server. As it's supposed to be. As I want it to be. So without irony or gall, an honest: thank you. We all know these queues are temporary, and even if they are not, it's well worth the wait. Butter
  8. Character name: Buttercup Server: Basilisk Droid, Europe. I have played healer characters in several MMO’s. In SWTOR, this is a sage. It is the only character I play, and I dare say, I'm not that bad at it. I mainly play PvP. I selected the sage on the premise that it would be a good healer class. Squishy, but if well played, you can heal the way healers ought to heal. I never felt “OP”. I am concerned. We have had more posts in - and views of - the sorc/sage nerf 1.2 thread than any thread this forum has ever had. I have followed the 1.2 sorc nerf thread since the new patchnotes were announced. Every day. Because I realized that from the very moment I read them that the changes would kill the logic that was put into the healer tree of the sorc/sage. I will not explain this statement; it is not for this thread and has been argued, explained and re-argued ad nauseam in other threads. My main concern is the lack of communication to the sages/sorcs from Bioware regarding this issue. My experience in MMO’s is that if you kill a big healer class, you kill the game. But even more so, if you kill logic in a class, even if you believe this is only everyone's "perception", lack of communication is lethal. I have seen the downfall of several MMO’s start with this very mistake. I implore the developers to write a reaction to the 1.2 sorc nerf thread asap. It is the sole purpose of this post. Don’t move this thread inside another thread. This post is about communication regarding the changes on the PTS, rather than the changes themselves. Please Bioware, start communicating. I have played your games since Baldur’s gate. I am baffled at what is happening right now.
  9. "IMHO". I read it a lot these days. In practice, it often translates to "and anyone who disagrees with me is patently a moron". This is what Terry Pratchett had to say about it: "And something that distinguishes the Mr. Windlings of the universe is the term 'in my humble opinion,' which they think adds weight to their statements rather than indicating, in reality, 'these are the mean little views of someone with the social grace of duckweed.'" Terry Pratchett, The Truth.
  10. I'm on Basislisk Droid. It's not a Russian server. I'm glad it's mixed (Danish, Dutch, British, Italian, Russian, Spanish etc); a single nationality servers is detrimintal to cooperation and gameplay.
  11. Hear Hear to this request! It is much needed.
