  1. What a horrible argument. Certain color crystals can stay hard to get, just remove the stat and leave the color only. Separating the two has nothing to do with how rare a color crystal would/could be.
  2. I had made a similar suggestion in a different thread. Basically, the "General" chat should include everyone in your faction on the entire server, regardless of what zone they are in. There should be a new "Zone" channel added that acts as the current General channel does.
  3. If I remember correctly, they said that they are planning on adding a combat log, but only for yourself. I am a programmer, and if that's the case, I can write that combat logger in about 10 minutes (excluding testing) - even without seeing their current code (obviously certain things like variable names would be wrong, but only because I'm an outsider, while their developers would use the correct ones). It would be incredibly easy. Now, if they are actually planning to expand it into full-combat logging (i.e. all group/raid members), that would take more work/time. Don't get me wrong - I love this game and I'm having a blast, but I think as a programmer, one has a unique insight when software/games are missing small but useful/important features and options. Certain things have a tendency to cause a bit more frustration when they could be/have been fixed/implemented quite easily and quickly.
  4. I would agree with all this except I feel that a "stopcasting" command would be very beneficial without causing harm.
  5. I agree with this. I love the yellow and black look of the pre-order crystal (it's my favorite), but which such low stats, it's useless.
  6. Personally, I feel the sprint ability should be removed entirely and just made the default movement speed. Barring that, if anyone feels the need for the slower "walk" speed, the run ability should be given immediately on character creation at level 1. I fail to see any rational reason why the ability to "run" should be withheld until a toon hits a certain level. That doesn't make sense to me.
  7. I read the OP, but not the entire thread as it seemed as the the OP was being updated with subsequent suggestions. Here are a few more, but apologies if any have been mentioned... 1. In addition to allowing windows to be movable/stackable, allow more than 2 windows at a time. 2. Add a "/roll" command to generate random numbers. - defaults to 1-100 - when called with an optional parameter, will random 1-x (e.g. "/roll 1000" generates 1-1000) 3. Temporary ability to sell-back accidentally purchased vendor items. For example, as long as I have not equipped or modded a purchased item, I have 30 minutes to sell it back for a full refund. 4. Give us a toggle-able option to stop the camera from auto-snapping back to the default while moving. 5. In addition to a target-of-target frame, also a full target-of-target system (using an attack/debuff ability while a group member is selected attacks/debuffs their enemy target - using a heal/buff/purge ability while targeting an enemy heals/buffs/purges the group member who has aggro on that enemy). This should be a toggle-able setting, not everyone will want to use it. 6. In addition to companions, when inspecting someone else's gear, hovering over an item should show its details, as well as show a comparison with your own gear. 7. Allow the ability to reorganize the abilities on the companions bar. 8. The vendor sale value should be shown on the tooltip when hovering over an item in your inventory/cargo. 9. Custom waypoints on the world map. Right-click would add a waypoint on your map. Right-clicking again on that waypoint would remove it. Shift+Right-click would link a map location into chat as a clickable [bracketed link]. When the link is clicked on, a waypoint to that location is added to the map of the person who clicked it, and the world map should open showing that location. 10. The "General" chat channel should encompass all players of your faction on the entire server. There should be a separate "Zone" channel that changes as you move from planet to planet (how the current "General" channel works). 11. Pressing "Enter" to engage chat should automatically place you back into whatever channel you last sent a message in, and not always default to "General" (or "Party" if in a group). For instance, if I just sent someone a whisper, hitting "Enter" should automatically set the new message to whisper the same person again.
  8. /signed I was just thinking about this the other day as well. A smartphone app that allowed access to things such as chat channels, mail, GTN, crew quests/crafting, etc would be amazingly awesome.
  9. I'm sure some of these have been mentioned elsewhere, but some are so basic that I'm awestruck that they are missing (or implemented the way they currently are) and they need to be repeated. 1. No "/roll" ... seriously?!? How could this have been missed? 2. Fully customizable UI (including more action bars at the bottom) ... also, seriously?!? 3. The ability to drag around open windows, and not be limited to only 2 windows open at once ... also, seriously?!? 4. Totally agree on a way to return mistakenly purchased vendor items ... also seriously?!? 5. "Sell all gray items" button at vendors. 6. Auto-stacking of like items when added to your inventory/cargo (may just be a current bug). 7. Dual spec!! 8. Combat log 9. Chat bubbles for "/say" and "/yell" (with the option to turn on or off - not everyone will want this) 10. Give us a toggle-able option to stop the camera from auto-snapping back to the default while moving. 11. Allow searching the GTN without having to fill in all the damn drop-downs first! OMG, whoever designed it this way, and the manager who approved it, need to be fired. The drop-downs should stay as filters, but they should not be required. 12. Allow searching for an item on the GTN that you have in your inventory by right-clicking on it. 13. Basic macro system. I never played WoW, so I can't comment on that, but for anyone who has played Rift, theirs is pretty good. At the very least, we need some sort of mouseover macro (e.g. hover the mouse cursor over a group member's icon and hit a button to heal/purge them without having to actually select their toon, and then reselect the previous target). 14. Target of target system (using an attack ability while a group member is selected attacks their enemy target - using a heal ability while targeting an enemy heals the group member who has aggro on that enemy). This should be a toggle-able setting, not everyone will want to use it. 15. When inspecting someone else's gear, hovering over an item should show its details, as well as show a comparison with your gear - just like it does everywhere else. 16. Allow the ability to reorganize the abilities on the companions bar. 17. Pressing "Enter" to engage chat should automatically place you back into whatever channel you last sent a message in, and not always default to "General" (or "Party" if in a group). For instance, if I just sent someone a whisper, hitting "Enter" should automatically set the new message to whisper the same person again (this also applies to all channels, so the effect in-game will be negligible as you are usually talking in the same channel for an extended period). 18. "General" chat should encompass all players on the entire server. There should be a separate "Zone" chat that changes as you move from planet to planet (how the current "General" channel works). 19. The vendor sale value should be shown on the tooltip when hovering over an item in your inventory/cargo. 20. Custom waypoints on the world map. 21. The fast travel ability should always list your ship as one of the destinations. I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I don't feel that any of these are unreasonable. In fact, I can't believe a modern MMO even shipped without most of them. - Lastly, I have an issue with their explanation of preventing high-res textures during normal play. Not that I don't believe them that it slows the game down, that's common sense, but the fact that they don't give us the option to choose. More specifically, they claim that it would take a lot of programming work to give us access to these textures. I am also a programmer, and I call shenanigans. The textures already switch to high-res and back again when moving in and out of cut-scenes, which means that the code is already there to handle this feature. Just put a new checkbox in the settings to allow us to toggle it manually/permanently. If they're worried about performance, leave it off by default, and add a warning next to it explaining that it could have a severe impact on performance. Done. Ideally, it would be implemented as LoD (level of detail) - meaning, all characters within a certain range of you (e.g. 30 meters) would use high-res textures while those farther away would use the current low-res textures. This may require extra programming time (depending on their current LoD system), but if so, it could be implemented later on. But even if the LoD code isn't ready, that's no reason not to give a basic option now. When writing software, if you know that not all users will agree on some preference, you almost never want to force all users to do some thing a specific way - you always want to give the ability of choice wherever possible. To do otherwise is just bad practice, and I am baffled when I see software that does not offer choice to it's users.
  10. How did you change the chat font size? I've actually been trying to make it smaller, but I couldn't find an option to do so.
