  2. I hate to say this, but I feel this philosophy came from WoW. So many PvE elitists went into rage mode because entry level PvP gear was equal to entry level PvE gear that Blizzard changed PvP gear. It was constant posts of "welfare epics" because anyone DARED to get decent gear without bootlicking to the uber PvE guilds. Now bolster props up awful PvE players, because BW took it too far. I can see they wanted to draw players into the PvP pool, but they did it by trying to appeal to PvE casual players, rather than fixing the many, many PvP bugs that are driving people away. I've had several business classes, and all of them state it's much harder to gain new customers than to retain current customers. Somehow BW has decided the cartel market has tipped that balance into milking new "gambling" customers; instead of supplying a legit and a solid product to their base.
  3. This sums it up. If it's ok for lazy "pros" to queue dodge better teams in rateds and just farm regs, then it's ok for pugs to queue dodge these premades. As long as premades can handpick classes, specs, and enjoy superior communications to farm pugs, pugs should be able to leave a game with no penalties.
  4. This is approaching game breaker status for me. I PvP primarily, and when it takes 3 global cooldowns to get off an instant cast, it gives my opponent 5 seconds to kill me before I am able to even start my rotation. I've even had pass the huttball failure to fire, which usually costs us a point. Come on, time to fix this. Or do we have to wait for the "Cartel Market Bug Fix Pack"?
  5. What is high score? Is that bad? Did I break it? http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/992263/
  6. I have to admit; I have nearly no faith this will be resolved. Even admitting that there is problem and talking about it would be progress if a dev or mod jumped into the debate. I believe matchmaking would be mitigation rather than elimination of the problem. In peak times on high population servers it would work well. On servers with medium and low populations (despite what the server login screen says, there are low and medium servers) it would do little or nothing because there isn't a large enough pool to draw from. Having said that, even matchmaking would be acceptable right now, because the alternative "bury your head in the sand and not respond" tactic BW has adopted is unacceptable. My preferred solution would start with cross server queues. I know it has been stated this is not going to happen. Next would be opening up ranked WZs to groups of 4, or even 2. It would give a large pool, and it would give groups a solid pvp option. Ideal solutions and reality being what they are, I would just love to hear ANYTHING about this issue right now from Bioware.
  7. Realistically, any effort at all to address the issue would be good at this point. Even a solution, matchmaking, that I feel is more of a band-aid than a fix would be something. Unfortunately, they seem more interested in creating cartel content to sell than fixing the base game.
  8. I went 2 pages back to find one post that was clear, even though I saw 2 posts in the previous page that were similar to this. I know your response is going to be something like "he didn't explicitly say that he wants things to say the same". I'm not going to dig through this whole thing to bring you proof that anyone who read this thread even once a week can find. I'm not going to argue inference and minutia. What he meant was what he said; things are fine, learn2play. This is the prevalent opinion, even if you don't share it, of the premade defenders- I want to have my fun, and my fun is pugstomping. If you are a pug, you are a baddie and deserve to get farmed.
  9. Yeah, that analogy is a little out there. I do think there is a point in saying that some posters in this thread are afraid of losing the advantage they have, but won't come straight out and admit it.
  10. I keep trying to remove you from my ignore list, but everytime I do you are back on it in 10 minutes. Stop the teenage drama. Just communicate like a normal person for once. "Pissing and moaning and lying", "hateful nonsense", "premades kick puppies"...I won't even dignify that with a response. Call it demonizing if you like; I already said my piece on why I choose to stay away from hardcore guilds and hardcore players in general. I avoid snarky, abrasive people in real life, and I avoid them in games also. I already said I fell for your trolling once and I won't do it again, so I will not bother with a point by point rebuttal. You may feel like this issue is centered around you, but it's not. Every post is not directed at you, and people who disagree with you are not character assassins looking to hurt your sensitive feelings. Nor are they mouth-breathing neanderthals because your half-assed logic doesn't convince anyone you are correct. If you were capable of an honest discussion you would stop with the barrage of logical fallacies and actually attack a position instead of attacking people. You seem to be incapable of anything but arrogance, bullying, and pseudo-intellectual parroting. I DARE you to make 10 posts without the drama, insults, and personal attacks. Just state your case and then shut up, don't add all the extra nastiness. It's liberating, I promise!
  11. I'm glad Blizzard finally realized pug farming by premades was hurting their game and did something about it. All the points that Blizzard rep makes are points that are made in this thread, and still the premade white-knighters throw the same tired old responses of "make friends" and "learn 2 play". I really do hope BW/EA learns from this before the game is beyond help. Maybe it is already beyond help; the population is so low on my server that you have 20-30m queues outside of peak play times, and more people are leaving every day. I hate to say this, but I don't think BW is taking a moral stance on allowing pug farming. I think they are unwilling to take resources away from churning out cartel market items, since that is where they make their money now.
  12. Yeah hypergate is my least favorite WZ. And every few games I get someone who will guard the node, stand right on top of it, eat a mez, use their cc breaker, eat another mez, get cc capped, call out inc in the last 3 seconds of the stealther taking the node, and then scream and whine that no one helped them.
  13. She was attacking a position no one took- specifically, that people who want something done to tone down the pug farming also want voicechat banned from use in swtor. That is not "my" definition of strawman argument, it is THE definition. I posted many times my reasons for changing the system to balance out pugs/premades. I don't really want to go over it all again. I read a few of your posts, and I agree that most solution are not realistic because it would cripple queue times. Any sincere effort to improve all aspects of pvp in this game would start with cross server queues, which last I heard are out of the question. Right now, a matchmaking system might be a decent band-aid, but at off times or on low population servers, I don't think anything would change; it would be the same 3-4 premades farming the same 25-30 solo players. Another option I saw seems good also: set a time limit, say 10-15 minutes, where a group of 4 will only get a game against another group of 4. After that time expires, the grouped players are then able to join the first match available.
  14. This is a great idea. They nerfed the WZ credits, I believe, in order to force pvp players to do dailies for credits. The idea of dailies is to artificially lengthen how long a person subscribes for (I can only get xx number of rep per day, so it will take me xx months to max out this rep or make xx credits).
  15. I don't usually bother responding to high school drama and name calling. That's all I read in your post I didn't respond to. Straw Man Argument (definitions of a fallacy) In a strawman argument, "the author attacks an argument different from (and weaker than) the opposition's best argument." If claiming that people are asking for voicechat bans and then attacking that position isn't a strawman, then strawman arguments do not exist. And your response to having a communications advantage is "you shouldn't have to communicate" makes absolutely zero sense. If you didn't need to communicate, the best pvpers would not use voicechat...everyone would just "know what to do". EDIT: Okay, you got me, more semantics, and I even responded this time. Point to you. I admit you have talent in derailing any sort of idea you don't like. By endlessly asking for definitions, clarifications, demanding proof for opinions, and trying to belittle anyone who doesn't agree with you, you excel at halting useful dialogue. I bow to your skills. I just don't see any point in responding to it anymore, it doesn't move the conversation at all.
