  1. People were complaining about premades when I last played 5 years ago....and 5 years later now I've stepped my toes back into the game I find people are still complaining about premades? Amazing, I guess some things never change. Putting it simply people like playing with friends, it's that simple. Now some people will be better at the game than others...and with pvp, as with many things in life, those people who know their class tend to find other people (naturally) who also know their class. Have a group of people who know each other and enjoy playing with each other and you have a premade. It's the kind of thing that happens in many forms of life not just here in a game. When I last played I used to group up with some friends from Lord of the Drinks on the Red eclipse server, one of many pvp guilds on the server. We simply used to group up with whatever class we fancied using at the time, if someone had to do a weekly on their a character they would switch to it. Sometimes we would change as well just for a change (we all had multiple classes), sometimes we wouldn't so it'd just be the one to change. By saying one of the solutions would be to ban premades you're telling people they're not allowed to play with friends which for an MMO....would be highly irregular, extremely bizarre and defeating the purpose of an MMO in the first place.
  2. Engineering Sniper, but then I'm highly biased and haven't played in 5 years
  3. Granted I am 5 years out of date now (temporarily reactivated my second account to see how it goes), so I am wayyy out of date. But...we never should have had the heals we were given in 5.0 anyway, I thought at the time it was overkill.
  4. I wouldn't buy any gear with any coms myself. It'll all get replaced anyway. Decorations that cost coms now will be sold by credits later. With pvp deco items I think they are bringing a valor requirement into it. Just take a look around and see what takes your fancy. If this really is your first toon at 64 then I wouldn't really worry, just enjoy the game and have fun. If you really are concerned about such things then by all means try leveling a new toon. There's no right or wrong answer for anyone to give you.
  5. Right now my mind is made up. If they don't change direction both of my accounts (this one isn't my main) will be closed. Willing to give them until sometime in Feb to change. But that's it.
  6. Not getting into the stealth discussion. Do you want some salami with that baloney? 10/10 survivability on dulfy so that must make it correct. Hah
  7. So that explains why I hate those two classes so much
  8. You use shift a lot but what about alt? Right next to space (jump) so might work for a few. I use alt-e for throw huttball. Also do you use the mouse wheel? Can use alt and shift on those, the default zoom in and out they are bound to I have on the plus and minus keys on the num-pad. Another one I have is shft-space. Very easy to use for me.
  9. You obviously don't play a sniper/gunslinger, removing all kiting and antikiting skills would break the class
  10. Regarding your comments about double entrench/roll. As an engineering sniper I disagree with the way you say it. For me I received no new skills in 4.0, what bioware did was to give us back the resets we lost in 3.0. The last time we received any new skills was back in 2.0. The best thing about having our resets back is we get them back in a heavily nerfed state, 3 min cool down compared to the 1min it used to be.
  11. Aye my thoughts also. I have some toons I do not want to level with double XP which means I wouldn't be able to use them foe that period.....which would suck as after today I have two weeks of and was planning to work on them. Really hope we can opt out like we could for 12x xp
  12. I didn't say there wasn't any risk involved Ideally you want to make the sniper come to you od course but that's not always possible. I'd your a guardian. Or juggernaut then you don't want to be just standing there waiting foe them to come into your range or trying to los against something that is far too easy for aoe
  13. Aye that's a good tactic but be aware that a decent sniper will use diversion on themselves or just use covered escape to get a better position. If the sniper is engineering they'll find themselves rooted regardless of how much resolve they have. If they have used their mad dash to get to that position you mention they will then find themselves at a disadvantage.
  14. If you try and los a sniper make sure you do so out of their range. All too often I see this only for them to get caught in the snipers aoe. Take a melee standing behind a pillar...every sniper has orbital strike and suppressive fire. All we have to do is place one at each side and we continue to damage them. That's not even considering how an engineer handles that situation as ws also have plasma probe. If you stay in los you'll continue to get attacked if you move you'll open yourself up to attack. So what should you do? Make the sniper move, the nearest los might not always be the best. Another thing I see a lot, guardian or juggernaut is guarding and sees me coming...but they stay still. All I have to do is to leg shot them and they are automatically at a disadvantage. When they are at say 40m start moving towards them so you get the leap in.
  15. Watch out for when they use covered escape, its on a 20 sec cool down. Use mad dash to get next to them and force choke. Get the distance and timing down perfect so you don't whizz past them and do it quickly. Can take. Snipers by surprise which can lead to them making mistakes. Surprise a sniper and you have the advantage. If they use covered escape again within 20 secs they have used their reset which is major. Haven't got full resolve? Don't attack them. If you do have full resolve go for it that's your window. Look at where they are positioned, can you get to them from the side or the back with the aid of los? Go for it. Are they placed in a way that makes it impossible to get to them from only one direction? Leave them alone. Did they pop entrench as you approached? Break off, have they just used entrench? Just a few tips, as I said try and think sneaky
