  2. Hi everyone, Following up on the issues some players are having with being unable to get past the key art loading screen. Appreciate everyone who sent in a DxDiag file as requested. The team believes that a fix has been identified, and will be included in 7.4.1b which we are expecting to be deployed this week. There are a few important notes that we want to be very clear about: The team believes that a fix has been identified, however, we have not been able to 100% reproduce this issue. Should this fix not work when 7.4.1b goes live, we will again work with impacted players to identify what the root cause could be. In the event that impacted players are able to log into the game when 7.4.1b goes live, we will work on compensating said players for lost game time. We are currently targeting March 20th to roll out 7.4.1b. When I have more information, I will update this thread. Thanks all

  4. Hi everyone, I know we’re coming up on the weekend, so I wanted to update this thread with what’s happening regarding this issue. First, thanks to everyone who is supplying info for us and answering the questions the team has. It’s helpful in their investigation into this issue. Second, a fix has not been determined as of now, however, please know that this is a priority for the team. Third, the team has requested that DxDiag files be sent to communitysupport@swtor.com. Please only send in files if you are impacted by the issue of not being able to get past the loading screen. And be sure to include your account name! If the team needs additional info, I will update this thread again. Lastly, we understand that the players impacted by this problem have not been able to get into the game since 7.4.1 went out, and we are working on plans to compensate those players. This will be executed after a fix has been made and deployed. Thanks for your patience everyone! Note: Copy and pasting the reply I made from this thread. Just adding this here for more visibility and consolidating info.

  6. Hi everyone, There’s been conversations surrounding the removal of Timer Achievements that are tied to Master Mode (MM) Operations, and we wanted to give you all a glimpse of what led us to this change and what’s happening behind the scenes now. We typically do not openly talk about exploits, however, this is a unique situation and we wanted to add more context to what transpired. In short, there was an Operations bug that was being exploited that allowed players to clear Story Mode level Ops under the guise of playing in Master Mode and earning MM rewards. At the time the bug existed, players that joined a group readying for a Master Mode run could leave the group, reset their phase as Story Mode, rejoin the group, and the entire instance the group was in would be set for Story Mode. The instance, however, would still look like the group was in Master Mode. Thus it was possible for a group to run a Story Mode Op and receive Master Mode rewards upon completion. For a period of time, it was possible for players to partake in this exploit whether they were aware of it or not. When 7.4.1 launched, titles were removed from players who completed Master Mode Operations within that window of time. We are looking into the game data around all MM kills as some players, guilds, and groups are reporting they did this Achievement legitimately while this exploit was live. Currently, the appropriate teams are reviewing the accounts of all players involved with Master Mode runs prior to 7.4.1 going live to validate the legitimacy of the claims. This will take time to review and process, so appreciate your patience as the team sorts through all the data. I will update this thread with next steps pending the completion of the investigation. Thanks all
  7. Hi everyone, Thanks to all who are providing info the team needs to investigate this issue further. There is a follow up troublshooting step they would like you to try if deleting the client_settings_ini file AND adjusting the graphicsquality line to 1 does not work. For players who are unable to get past the key art loading screen, can you: Open the client_settings_ini file to edit it. Under the [Renderer] section, delete all the lines save for the GraphicQuality line and adjust that to 1 As an example, your file should now look something like this. [Renderer] GraphicsQuality = 1 [Game] MoviesFolder = ..\..\Movies SwtorRegKey = SOFTWARE\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic Save and load up the game. Please report here whether or not that fixed your issue. I do ask that comments are kept to providing the info asked for, so we can quickly collect responses. Thanks!
  8. Hi all, I've asked for players to answer some questions the team is asking regarding this issue here in this thread. We'll be keeping an eye on responses.
  9. Hi all, Following up on the above. If deleting the settings folder does not fix the issue, could you please answer the following: What happens if you edit the client_settings_ini file and change the lines “GraphicsQuality = 1” and “TextureQuality = 1”? (It's fine if you don't see the TextureQuality line). What graphics card are you using? Feel free to answer in this thread.
  10. Hey folks, Coming off of 7.4.1, there were obviously some changes we made that received some feedback and I wanted to talk through them with you! I think we can put them in three buckets and in each there are some problems from our side that I want to address. Those buckets in order are: Removing Reputation tracks from GS / Blueprint Fragment confusion Changes to Reputation Conquest Objectives Missing patch notes Where is the Rep Track?! Simply put, the intended functionality of a Rep track does not pair well with the functionality of Galactic Seasons. For us, we want a rep track to be something that a player can engage with over a long period of time, to work through, earn rewards and titles, etc. Since a GS is only available for a limited time we didn’t want to push into a FOMO feeling or anything like that. We want Rep tracks to be tied to things like Daily Areas. However, there was a similar expectation of those items being on the track, of those Achievements being earned during the season, etc. And so as a middle ground we replaced the rep items with the Blueprint Fragments which could serve a similar purpose. The problem here is that our messaging and overall user experience for these could use some work. We didn’t communicate this change clearly up front and more importantly, Blueprint Fragments themselves don’t do a great job of communicating what they or what their purpose is. Going forward, it is our intention to stop doing rep tracks for Galactic Seasons and reserve them for content where it makes more sense (like Daily Areas). The Conquest Change This is surely the place we saw the most feedback here in the forums following the patch yesterday. First off, why did we even make this change? Well, this Objective is quite a bit outsized in just how many points you get relative to its effort. Not that we don’t want a range of Objectives, some of which can be completed very easily/quickly. But this Objective was a very large amount of points for what was required of you, and that’s why we ultimately nerfed it. In connection to the first section is that although we lowered the points from this Conquest, our goal was to add in new objectives so that players who were jumping in for quick sessions and progression through Galactic Seasons, could then also be gaining Conquest points (the new Objectives focus on gaining GS levels). Now, all of that being said, we definitely hear your feedback. We know that we hit this Objective pretty hard. And although it may have been needed to pull it into balance, we are actively discussing what adjustments we can make and I will let you know once I have those details. But, Where was the Patch Note Ok so before I peel back the curtain a little I want to get something out of the way, we didn’t try to hide any of this, it was just missed (I’ll tell you how in a minute). We know that a nerf like this is never fun and you having to discover it on your own adds so much more friction to the situation. But to be clear, any change that is player facing should be communicated to you, whether that is through patch notes, social media, forums, or some combination of all of the above. A change that affects you that is missed is never intentional. I know ya’ll appreciate some behind the scenes when we can and so this is a good opportunity, so here goes. Let me walk you through how our patch notes are built to illustrate how this was missed. And amusingly a little bit of how Musco of the past and Musco of the present combined for this one. Also usual reminder I am going to be doing a bit of oversimplifying here so don’t take all of this as 100% 1 to 1, but to be illustrative! Ok so when we pull patch notes we do so mostly in two ways: Highlights - These are the big features we know and track across a whole lot of teams, usually have marketing blurbs written, blogs, etc. Bugs - The important one for this section, we pull our bug fixes internally based on a query that Musco, Community Manager of the past, helped write. This pulls from our internal tracking of all of the bug fixes we made for a particular release so that Jackie and the Live team can convert those into patch notes! Now fast forward. As of late we’ve really been trying to squeeze in more stuff when we can and often this stuff is small. So not a whole big feature, but also not us fixing a bug. From a project management standpoint, those things are tasks. This is something Musco, Producer of the Present has been helping to drive internally. You can see this in things like Ancient Armaments or the new Legacy Perk. Well, when we are building our patch notes as I already described, we are typically looking at our highlight features and bugs (thanks Musco of the past) and in that query we now realize we were missing some tasks. In fact, both of my examples of tasks from above, Ancient Armaments and the new Legacy Perk, were missed on our first internal draft of the patch notes until we caught them on review. You can probably see where this is going. The changes I’ve been talking about in this thread were all captured in tasks and so when we were writing the patch notes they were just missed and then weren’t caught on internal review. As you already can guess we are updating our process to make sure we are throwing a better net on catching those tasks in the future. Anyways, this is a long post and I have thrown quite a lot of information at you. Thank you all for the continued feedback and I will pass on any more information as I have it. -eric
  11. Servers are now back up! The following patch notes will be added shortly. Fixed an issue with the exclusive Join the Fight bundle K-NorCo B5C Mount not being able to be rideable at level 1. Galactic Seasons 6 Blueprint Fragments are now Bind on Pickup. Thanks all
  12. Good morning everyone, We're getting ready to deploy Game Update 7.4.1a: Time: 9:30am CT / 2:30pm UTC Estimated downtime: 2 hours I'll update this thread when the servers are back up.
  13. Hi everyone, Chiming in to give you all an idea of what to expect for tomorrow. We do intend on taking down the servers to roll out 7.4.1a which would fix the K-NorCo B5C Mount from the Join the Fight bundle. However, we do not have an exact time scheduled just yet as there are levels of verification and testing that needs to be happen. Once I have this information, I will update this thread. What I can say at this time that estimated downtime is approximately two (2) hours. Thanks all.
  14. Hi everyone, Wanted to put together a short checklist/troubleshooting guide as we’re seeing reports of players being unable to get past the key art loading screen. Security programs Be sure to add the game AND launcher on the allowlist for any security programs (anti-virus, firewall, etc…) Depending on what programs you are using, you will have to look up how to add SWTOR executables to the allowlists. Adding only one or the other may not allow the game to play correctly. Subscriber vs Preferred/F2P accounts being able to log in There are reports of some players with Subscriber accounts being unable to log into the game, however, if they create a new account, the new account is able to log in. We recommend that impacted accounts delete the settings folder that is typically found here: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings Before doing this, back up your files in case this is not the root cause for this issue. Do you meet the system requirements for SWTOR? Please note that if you do not, the game may not run properly on your machine. OS: Windows 10 or later - 64-bit Processor AM : Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better Processor Intel:Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better Memory:6GB RAM Graphics Card: Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 1 GB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include: Intel HD 3000 or better/ AMD Radeon HD 7450 / Nvidia GeForce 610 Storage: 75 GB Internet connection Required to play. Will be keeping an eye on reports and add to this list as needed.
  15. Hey folks, I wanted to give you a quick heads up on our plans for the next little bit as we have 3 patches coming to you in pretty short order. 7.4.1a will be coming ASAP, likely tomorrow. This is to address an issue that the Join the Fight mount is not currently working at level 1 as intended. Jackie will be posting details once we have locked down maintenance timing. 7.4.1b is right on the horizon, targeting early/mid next week followed by 7.4.1c in the next 2-3 weeks. We are tracking a variety of emerging issues for these patches such as Ancient Armaments and Conquest/Rep change. I’ll be back later today or early tomorrow with a follow-up post about our internal conversations following your feedback on the Conquest/Rep changes. I’m gonna lock this thread for now and will respond here later. I will reopen the thread when I do! Thanks all, talk soon. -eric
  16. If you meet the criteria stated for free transfers, and are not receiving them, I encourage you to reach out to support. And please be sure to include your account name. You can either follow these steps or email support@swtor.com.
  17. Hi all, We're using this space to track known issues regarding 7.4.1, and will be updating as needed. Players may notice that winning a Warzone match doesn't grant double points for Heading the Frontline season objective. New Fitted equipment is a bit over-represented in world drops and treasure hunting boxes are affected as a result. We'll be altering the drops a bit to bring the original drops from worlds closer to how they were before. The new Fitted equipment is not listable in the GTN. This is not intended. The "Edifice Engineer", “The Builder”, and "Grand Architect" season vendor titles are not unlocking in Collections. While this is not directly tied to 7.4.1, we did want to call out that we are aware that some Steam players are being required to accept the EULA agreement upon every log in and are looking into a fix.
  18. Hey folks! We are seeing reports from players who are confused with how the Galactic Seasons 6 currency functions. This was not originally included in the GS6 article, but the two intended changes below will be reflected there and in the patch notes as well. Reputation Track Galactic Seasons 6 does not have a Reputation track like previous seasons. There is still an item to collect the same way you collected Reputation currency in the past. However, it is for Achievement tracking only and progress is granted when you collect it - you're safe to sell them for credits! It’s worth noting that these will cease to drop when you’ve unlocked the achievement. Reputation Conquest Objective The amount of Conquest points earned for the Reputation Conquest Objective was reduced. This particular objective was over-represented in objectives completed and needed to be balanced. We've added new objectives to help offset the loss that encourage you to play Galactic Seasons in the same manner that the Reputation one did but lowered the effect that the Reputation objective gave in its place. These changes will be reflected in future Seasons as well, however, we know they can have an outsized effect on smaller guilds and will be keeping a close eye on the data over time and make adjustments as needed.

  22. Hi everyone, The Galactic Seasons 6 article is now up! Please read it fully so you can prepare for 7.4.1 launch tomorrow! We'll be keeping an eye on any questions that may pop up and we'll answer them here as needed. Thanks!
  23. Hi everyone, Star Forge is back online! Appreciate your patience with the issues players were seeing with how the GTN was functioning on the Star Forge server. There were reports of some auctions that were purchased on the GTN not arriving in the buyers’ Claim Window. We have identified the issue and it has been fixed. For players whose items were impacted by this issue, credit and item refunds will be applied back onto their accounts during tomorrow’s maintenance. Thanks!
  24. Hello everyone, 7.4.1 patch notes are now available here! Thanks!
  25. Hi again, We will be taking down the Star Forge server in approximately 15 minutes to further out investigation. When we bring it back online, I'll update this thread.
  26. Hi everyone, We are aware of an issue that players are seeing with the functionality of the GTN on the Star Forge server. The team is currently investigating and when I have more info, I will update this thread. Thanks!
  27. Hello folks! Just wanted to pop in real quick and give you some more info about these since we haven’t released all of the details. What are these exactly? So these Armors and Weapons are new versions of existing ones that had randomized stats and that there was no other way to acquire their appearance in the game aside from existing world drops. These were no longer available to trade on the Galactic Trade Network due to the backend changes, but there are others that may not have been tradeable at all. There are a lot of them! Hundreds of weapons and over 2000 armor pieces. The sheer amount is why we didn’t post a detailed list. Ancient Armaments Login Reward Calendar This reward calendar will operate very similar to our 3 existing reward calendars, complete with Achievements and various items available on the track. This has been added to the rotation of login calendars so it might not show up right away. The big change to this one is it will include a chance to get some of these new versions of previous appearances. There will be a Weapons Pack and an Armors Pack on the calendar, the weapon pack will give you a Fitted Weapon from the list of new Weapons. The Armor Pack will give you one complete set of one of these armor sets. The packs will be legacy bound but the contents will be Bind on Equip! World Drops Many of these have been difficult to acquire due to requiring specific levels or planets or various other rules. These new ones can drop in any world drop. World drops will be single pieces of armor or a weapon. You can still get the normal randomized stat world drops, these drop in addition to them! However, because we’re adding all of these new items to the normal drop pool, they have no vendor value, so if you want credits for them you’ll need to do some trading. If you don’t want to bother with all of that, you can always destroy them (though they will not disassemble). Rarity In both cases of the packs as well as the world drops higher quality items will be rarer. Premium is the most common, followed by Prototype, and then Artifact. Because they can drop at any level they should appear a bit more frequently than many of our other armor world drops. Collections These items will not be in collections. They will however be Bind on Equip! This means they can be traded or sold on the GTN. A big part of why I wanted to get these into the game was to make up for the random stat appearance items no longer being tradeable on the GTN due to our backend changes. I hope that answers many of your questions but if you have anything that I wasn’t able to answer with regards to these new items feel free to ask! May the Force Serve You
  28. Hello everyone! Mark your calendars! Game Update 7.4.1 "Building a Foundation" will be releasing on March 12th! Time: 7am CT / 12pm UTC (note that DST is happening on March 10th) Expected downtime: 4 hours Though patch notes will be available on Monday, I did want to let you all know about some highlights beforehand. Alongside Galactic Seasons 6, Date Night Companion Missions, and the opening of Character Transfers to the Shae Vizla server, the following will be coming with 7.4.1: Outfits will now be included when characters are transferred between servers. Ancient Armaments Added To Daily Login Rewards Ancient Armaments contain various armor appearances including ones that were difficult to be acquired and could not previously be traded. These armor pieces do not contain stats or mod slots and are intended solely for Outfitter. These armor pieces do have dye slots and can be traded and bought / sold on the GTN. The armor pieces that are available inside of Ancient Armaments will also available as random world drops Galactic Trade Network (GTN) Droid Legacy Unlock A new Character Convenience unlock has been added to Legacy Perks! Once unlocked, players will be able to reach the GTN at any time without needing to travel to the Fleet, their personal ship, various planets or Strongholds! Level 1 - Access to droid, 60m cooldown Requires Player level of 20 Costs 3.5M Credits (Req Legacy level of 5) or 400 CCs Level 2 - Lowers cooldown to 45m Requires Player level of 50 Costs 7M Credits (Req Legacy Level of 10) or 250 CCs Level 3 - Lowers cooldown to 15m Requires Player level of 80 Costs 15M Credits (Req Legacy Level of 20) or 250 CCs There's quite a bit in this update, so be sure to read the full list of patch notes when they are on published on March 11th! Lastly, while it's not necessarily tied to the 7.4.1 update itself, we did open up a few sections of the forums to players who have Preferred accounts. Going forward, any player who has a Preferred account can now create threads and post replies in the New Player Help, Introductions, and Bug Reports sub-forums. I'll be updating this thread as needed and will unlock it once 7.4.1 goes live. Thanks all! See you on Tuesday!
