However, still cannot deploy my fifth companion and can only deploy 4. The same thing happened to me at level 41. I was at level 43 before I could deploy four companions. and I was there for about a week.
This is really frustrating and annoying. Suggestions?

Different PVP game modes and maps?

RIght now everything is centered around objective team-based PvP combat with only 3 maps to choose from. What about other game modes? I know that if this game had this level of PvP combat to offer there would be many players drooling for a killing, and a subscription!

My point is to try to come up with ideas that might differentiate the PvP of the game. I know some of the ideas might "fit" better to other game types, and not necessarily even be compatible with an MMORPG, but irregardless anything is better than nothing.

First we need more maps hands-down. Different environments to kill each other in and lots of them. Take a hint from non-mmorpg multi-player games: they don't have to be huge, but they should be creative, flow together well, and allow lots of killing.

Secondly, different game modes?!

A death match free-for-all with max frag count or time limit?

A last man standing with time limit?

A warzone that is open PvP where there is no time limit or frag count, an endless gladiator arena full of killing? Add in random NPC events where players can gain an upper hand for a limited time? Power ups? Hired mercenaries? Factions/Faction control? Guild vs. Guild battefield control points?

Extend the current hutt-ball combat mode into traditional capture the flag settings?

Create an in-game betting/gambling system where players can bet on fellow players to become their money making PvP champion?

These are just some ideas, please discuss!

Krayiss Obelisk has not had a single warzone match today.... 6 hours in a 50s queue, and not a single call for a warzone. Is D3 a major reason for this? It shouldn't be, but it is. If D3 has become that much of a reason as to completely halt facets of gameplay on a server (or servers), then it needs to be looked at with a sense of urgency.

Bioware Development Team, I'm directly calling you out with this thread. You are not listening to your clientele when it comes to solutions that will enrich gameplay, and keep those who are otherwise dropping their subscriptions to go play other MMOs, to stay and enjoy what you have to offer within this game. Cross-server PvP queues are one of those solutions, and it needed to be implemented with 1.2. Put your development minds together, and make it happen with the next patch.

My challenge to the subbers: I encourage everyone who wants Bioware to make the above requested change by the next patch, to bump this thread. Will it become flagged? Probably. Will it be removed? Likely. Will it be noticed? Definitely.

Make it happen.

Im having an issue with Chat that is becoming rather annoying.

My RL friends have a chat group on our server. To join the group I type "/cjoin groupname". After joining I have no issues chatting to friends in the group. As soon as I zone out of the area I am in, it disapears and I have to re-add it again.

Think about how often you zone to a different planet per playing session.... this will give ya an idea of how often I have to re-add this channel every time i am on.

I do not have this issue on my other toons (same account).

Any Ideas?

After all the nerf sent/mara QQ threads, I thought i would take a more objective approach and start a thread about a specific class/spec vs. sent/mara. I am an avid swtor pvper and have played and geared a PT dps and tanksin. the tanksin is my main, and other than having to grind 2 sets every update I have no complaints.

However, concerning the PT I do have some complaints, primarily the fact that against decent sentinels it has ZERO chance to win EVER. People often mention that PT dps have as good a burst and overall dps as sent/mara and while this fact is indisputable the drastic difference in survival abilities is just disgusting. Specifically Rebuke is way too OP. 20% damage redux for 30 secs with a 1min cd in addition to 30% dam reduction from armor and 16% int/ele from buffs AND the 17-18% redux from expertise basically means that arguably the highest dps runs around with a near constant 68% redux for kinetic/energy attacks and 54% redux for int/ele attacks. Add in saber ward and the oft discussed undying rage/guarded by the light talent and you get a clas that has the best overall survivability and the best dps PERIOD.

While it is rare that one ever gets an opportunity in a wz to test the possible theories on how to reduce sents combat effectiveness, ie if you see rebuke active cc and run for 6 secs to let it tick off, or cc during UR/GBtL, or slow and kite, the fact remains that this class is the single biggest class imbalance in the game.

There have been many suggestions, not that devs read threads here lol, postulated as to how best to rebalance the class; affix a min health expenditure for UR/GBtL so that they cant wait til 400 hp to trade 200hp for 5 secs of invulnerability, reduce Rebuke's refresh upon attack to 3 secs, increase cd of Rebuke and UR/GbtL etc. I believe that the class's damage output does not need fixing. They should crank out the serious numbers they do. It is the survivability that needs fixing and soon. SO sick of getting totally owned on my PT by toons that he outgears by 2-3 pieces.

What is a PT's biggest single def abil... a 12 sec 25% redux with a 2min cd which compared to Rebuke is total *****.

Tanks Tank, Healers Heal, Healers do not Tank

There are...

This is being posted because, it seems, that some people are having a real problem understanding what their class is supposed to do.

There are three classes in PVP in this game...

Healers
Tanks
DPS

Now, I'll get more into that but first let me explain a little about how damage in video games, specifically MMO's, works.

Combat has two variables:

Damage and Mitigation.

Damage is when a player assigns a numeric value to another player which is subtracted from their health.
Mitigation is when a player has an (active or passive) ability to reduce the assigned damage given to them by other players.

It is interesting to note that damage is cumulative between players, if two players assign a damage value to another player those two players have their numbers added together to get a total number.

Mitigation comes in two versions:
The first is an active version. This is when someone has a capability to actively remove assigned damage from a player. Commonly this is known as "healing" in the world of MMO's.

The second is a passive version. This is when someone has an ability (permanent or temporary) to reduce the value of damage assigned to them from any action on the part of any other player.

-----
The amount of time it takes for damage that player can deal out to exceed the total health (after passive mitigation) of another player is called the "Time to Kill" which we will refer to from here on out simply as the TTK.
-----
Now, this effectively assigns jobs to the two types of mitigation.

Passive mitigation increases the TTK.
Active mitigation can remove damage values so long as they can operate before the TTK has been reached.

Each class has different TTK's as TTK is modified by the amount of health someone has as well as the passive mitigation that person possesses.
-----

Classes that deal out high damage do not have high TTKs.
Classes that have active mitigation do not have high TTKs.
Classes that have high TTKs don't have active mitigation or high damage but do have the ability to grant higher TTK to other classes.

These three roles are known as the following:

DPS
Healer
Tank

-----

In Pre 1.2 Healers had a problem, their Healing was faster than (almost) any TTK value without modification.
In Post 1.2 DPS was increased across the board and thus TTK values went down.

This means in pre 1.2 Healers were too powerful as they were usually able to simulate having a high passive mitigation due to their active mitigation.

Tanks and DPS classes needed healers to provide active mitigation, but healers did not need Tanks to provide passive mitigation. They effectively had both high passive and high active mitigation. This does not mean your Healer is broken, it simply means that in order to gain passive mitigation again you now have to group with a Tank.

TL;DR

Healers need Tanks, Healers should have always needed Tanks, to protect them as they are not a Tank class.
