The Star Wars: The Old Republic Community Cantina Tour Arrives in San Francisco | 02.28.2013, 03:28 PM
Just wanted to pop in and remind everyone of our event tomorrow! Stop by, have a drink or a bite to eat on us, and talk about SWTOR. If you need the event details you can check them out here.

I will be in attendance at the event as well so if you are coming, look for me and say hi!

Is it possible that the recent patch actually *fixed* the memory leak? | 02.28.2013, 03:00 PM
Hey everyone!

Just wanted to pop in and confirm that we definitely made some improvements to these issues in our latest update. However, we aren't where we need to be yet and we are still working to make even more improvements.

Glad to see these issues have been resolved though for some of you folks.

You have the right idea

Basically what they are saying is we definitely still have the ability to communicate with all of you in German and we will.

On the subject of communication, one thing I think the community team could help out on a bit is clarifying 2.0 v. RotHC. I keep seeing pages of threads of people arguing whether 2.0 is RotHC or whether they are separate. We all know Makeb isn't included on the PTS, but is 2.0 going to be released at the same time as RotHC, or before? It seems clear to me that we need the digital purchase to reach level 55, but some people don't think that's very clear.

Here is a bit more clarification on the differences between Rise of the Hutt Cartel and 2.0 put as simply as I can!

What subscribers will get without purchasing Rise of the Hutt Cartel:
  • Class changes and balancing levels 1-50
  • Any itemization/world changes which affect levels 1-50
  • Legacy Achievements

What subscribers will get if they do purchase Rise of the Hutt Cartel:
  • New Operation: Scum and Villainy
  • Nightmare Mode Terror From Beyond
  • Upgraded level 55 Hard Mode Flashpoints
  • Level cap increase to 55
  • All new Makeb storyline
The new Operation and Hard Mode Flashpoints in Game Update 2.0 are Level 55 Elder Game Content. The level cap increase to 55 is included with the purchase of the Digital Expansion: Rise of the Hutt Cartel. Free-to-Play restrictions apply. Visit the Free-to-Play Features Chart for more information.

But, whatever you try to do to keep our French/German brothers and sisters happy and subbed (we really don't need another large scale exodus)- please, for the love of all that is holy, DON'T DO THIS :

Hey everyone,

I want to express that I completely understand your frustration in this. I know I mentioned it before but I want to reassure you guys that although the French and German Community Managers are no longer a part of the team, you folks are far from forgotten. We are going to be continually receiving feedback reports from both French and German players via the forums and acting upon that internally just as we do with all other feedback.

Also, please don’t think that this means that you will never see another yellow post from us again, we are going to be working to post updates in those forums whenever we can. Yes, this will be less frequent than may occur in English, but it will absolutely still happen.

I understand what you guys are going for in posting in German or French across the English forums and as you may have noticed, in some cases we are moving those back into the German or French General Discussion. I am going to leave this thread here since it is where we addressed that specifically. The issue is that posting in German or French in the English forums only really disrupts any constructive discussion we have here as the majority of the English forums wouldn't speak French or German. So in the future we will begin to more actively move German and French posts to their respective forums.

The last thing we want you folks to feel like is that you are being ignored and I will make it a personal goal to ensure that you don’t feel that way.

Broken in patch 1.7.1 | 02.28.2013, 10:42 AM
Hi there!

As you mentioned, we know about the bug with hoods and are working on a resolution. Please see the following:

We know that the Galactic Trade Network subcategories aren't working properly and are showing things in the wrong place. We've determined this to be the case only with items that were on the GTN before patch 1.7.1's changes to categorization. This does not occur with new items that were listed after that patch. Additionally, once the incorrectly displayed items expire, everything will be working as intended again! So this one just requires a bit of patience, as it'll work itself out.

As for the Space Combat report, we'll be escalating that to the Space Combat team to research.

Thanks very much for the reports! As you may have noticed, this thread has been moved to General Discussion to allow for better visibility.

Question of the Day! | 02.28.2013, 10:27 AM
Hello everyone!

In case you missed our first question of the day yesterday, we are going to start posting a fun question every day in various sub forums.

Here is today's question:

Do you like control and power? Tell us about your most "Sith" moment.

My personal answer (In spoiler tags since it involves the Sith Warrior Story):

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that the Gree vendor is still available and will not be removed. Hope that clears up any confusion!

We are aware of this issue and actively working on addressing it. It should be fixed today (or soon thereafter)!

You are 100% correct

Clearly, M1-4X would charge directly through any doors, walls, or guards between himself and the prison cell, singing the Republic anthem the whole way.

Taxes charged on game time? | 02.27.2013, 04:42 PM
I was hoping to clear up some confusion on this issue. Subscriptions are subject to sales tax in some states, and sometimes states rules on how these taxes are applied can fluctuate from month to month. This could be the cause of the cost changes you noted above.

If you want to get more information on something like this you can view our Terms of Service or our FAQ, or call your state's Revenue Department.

Collectors edition vendor | 02.27.2013, 04:27 PM
Hey everyone,

I just brought this back to the development team to get some clarification. One thing I can say is you will see something added into the CE vendor in Game Update 1.7.2, so look for it.

I cannot go into any details but I can say that we are exploring different ideas on how to give more consistent and regular updates to the CE vendor going forward. Again I cannot go into any details and these plans are not finalized, but we have definitely not forgotten about the vendor!

Or are the german and french parts of the community officially deemed unworthy by now ?
Hello JPryde,

You are correct in that Antonio and Lars are no longer a part of the EU SWTOR Community Team. Due to this change you will see less communication in general in your forums than you did see previously. However, I want to stress that we will still be continually receiving feedback from both our German and French communities and addressing that feedback just as we would the English speaking community.

Just as we have in the past, we will continue to make sure that communicating all critical things such as timed promotions, maintenance announcements, etc. will still be communicated to you.

I hope that answers your questions!
