Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we will be performing scheduled maintenance for 2 hours on Thursday March 14th, 2013 from 5AM CDT until 7AM CDT.

All game servers will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than two hours, but could be extended.

This maintenance is done in order to make general improvements and to check performance of the game so that we can continue to provide a consistent, quality experience. Quite often (but not always) after a maintenance period there will be a patch to download. After the maintenance, please login via the launcher to download the latest patch. If your launcher was open during the maintenance, you must close and reopen it for a fresh login.

Yes. Is good.
Hey Jonoku and Tatile! I know for your respective issues (character transfers and SGRA) you are definitely vocal and it is not lost on us, don't worry. I am always making sure to check in on your issues and will report on anything once I have more information. I don't want you to think I am ignoring them, I just don't have anything new to communicate yet.

[Bug] Digital Deluxe Edition | 03.13.2013, 04:03 PM
When I posted about this issue earlier, I told you that I would let you know when there was an estimate for a fix, and now we know!

Because we want players to have access to these items during Double XP weekend, we've decided to deploy a patch tomorrow morning that will resolve this. We're going to have a short maintenance period at 5AM CDT tomorrow. Afterwards, any new Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition gift packages will contain the correct items. Any characters who didn't get the correct items after yesterday's patch will need to contact Customer Support to have them granted, as the patch will not be fixing any of the bad packages created after patch 1.7.2.

Thanks for your understanding!

That said, I found your last couple paragraphs a tiny bit hard to follow so I just want to ask one clarifying question to be sure. You are saying that the current system will NOT be changed, correct?
Correct! The way that Heroic Space Combat missions work right now is how they will continue to work.

Missing Heroic Space Mission | 03.13.2013, 02:09 PM
Hi everyone,

First of all, I want to apologize for posting incorrect information with regards to these missions. After seeing your replies, I wanted to be sure I thoroughly researched what you folks were saying and that I had definitively correct responses before replying again. To address my mistakes:

The future change already happened.

This is correct. The change went in with Patch 1.7.1 and is now included the patch notes.

This is the main thing that caused my delay in response, because the numbered list given was based on a clarification post I'd made after the Heroic Space Combat missions were first introduced and is how they worked originally. However, this was different than the way the Dailies and Weeklies worked in other end-game areas (such as Black Hole), and as many of you pointed out, it's less convenient and difficult to plan out doing them all to get the Weekly bonus.

After researching, I learned that when the developers fixed post 1.6 bugs with the new system and updated the reset timing, this change went in as a side effect. Unfortunately, the change wasn't communicated when writing the patch notes, and therefore wasn't officially stated for players.

Furthermore, when running my own Space Combat Heroics since 1.6, I'd been picking up the missions based off of my knowledge as originally posted: I would pick up the day's mission from the terminal, run it, and it wouldn't remain in my Mission Log, so I never personally noticed the change.

Don't be mad! This is not a bug and it will not be changing. We recognize that the change is a good thing; it was intended and done based off of your feedback. It was done both because it prevents the confusion of a totally different in-game system and (more importantly) because it's how you wanted and preferrd the system to work after you had a chance to try it out.

Increased communication with all of you has been awesome. Again, I genuinely apologize for my own confusion and for providing misinformation. Hopefully the clarification above makes sense for everyone!

QUESTION: What's with all of the, "Gay Planet" comments? | 03.13.2013, 01:21 PM
Hey folks,

I want to start by saying that I am going to close this thread down. Although the topic itself is not a breach of the forum rules there have been a few too many instances of people getting a bit off-topic or "rule breaking" for the thread to continue in a constructive manner.

I want to use this to point to some specific issues with posts being made in the thread to try to offer a bit more transparency on the issues with some of the posts.
  • Posts that are making references to journalistic sites like Fox News in a way that can be taken as a political statement are not allowed. To offer more clarity, posts like this will often cause a thread to derail into a political discussion.
  • Although this thread is specifically about the SGRA romances that are a part of Rise of the Hutt Cartel, please don't use that as an opening to make posts which are overtly sexual. I understand romance is a part of the conversation but always err on the side of extreme caution when steering a conversation to be sexual as this is in violation of the forum rules.
  • Lastly, remember the golden rule, always, always be respectful towards eachother regardless of differing opinions. Avoid personally attacking eachother and try to keep the conversations constructive.

Also, just in case anyone was curious (although I haven't seen it brought up directly) this does not also affect things like Valor. The double XP promotion only affects experience gains.

I posted a reply in your thread on the French forums as well so that the Community there will see. o/''\o

Incorrect. Rested experience only affects the killings of NPCs, double XP as a part of this promotion affects literally everything (space, quest rewards, PvP, etc). Technically, this double XP is way better than what you would normally get from rested.

Then, as I listed above you can increase those benefits through boosts and Legacy perks.

Thanks for the segue! Let me blow your minds

My understanding of the system is that all of our boosts will multiply from the new base of 200%, so now is the perfect time to get those Legacy perks and XP boosts. I will show you why.

Let's say you planned to level during the March to Makeb entirely through... Flashpoints.

200% base experience
+25% Flashpoint Boost
+30% Flashpoint Legacy perk

*THIS BONUS DOES NOT STACK WITH RESTED EXPERIENCE

Since both of the boosts are being applied to double base XP, they are also doubled. Do you know what that means?!

+310% bonus experience! That is over triple the experience. Enjoying your leveling my friends!

TLDR, yes they stack and for the math nerds it is multiplicative on top of the new base of 200% (assuming I understood it all correctly)

Wrong discounted price on Hypercrates | 03.13.2013, 10:28 AM
Hi there tman_ac,

Great observation! We made a change at the last minute to decrease the base price for both Contraband Packs (versus Cartel Packs) and the new Hypercrate (versus previous ones). When this change was made, we also changed the initial discount to be 10%, rather than the incorrectly noted 15%.

The 1.7.2 Patch Notes have been updated to reflect this properly.

So why please do we have to wait more then 12 hours for the patchnote traduction ? Why do we see our forum falling into insults, constant complaints without any reaction from The Old Republic staff ?

Why don't we have a section on our forum for the test serveur ? Is it because no one from Bioware is going to read our comments ?

Well the main question is : after dismissing the europeans community managers are you now going to watch the european players leaving the game one by one ? What's next step ? No more traduction for the in game dialogues ? And later close europeans servers ?

Yes I love this game, I play since the beta tests and I have no doubt about my loyalty but today I'm angry, as player and particularly as customer.
Hey Drussy,

I wanted to address this directly because I totally sympathize with you here and I wanted to explain what happened with our patch notes. First, I want to point to something I teased last week, that yesterday we would be making what I thought was a cool announcement about something. Unfortunately, we ran into an issue and had to delay it as I stated here:

Quote: Originally Posted by EricMusco View Post

Spoiler: It is not the release date.
That hiccup? Localization. We hit an issue where we had a delay in some of our text being localized into French and German. As you surely noted yesterday, we unfortunately did not have patch notes available for 1.7.2 except in English and German. Since we had those prepared, we had no choice but to make sure that we could inform folks to what had changed, so we posted them. I completely understand your frustration with this and we have been working to get localization complete on those as fast as we can, you will see them today for sure (Amber is prepping them as I type this).

I know sometimes when issues like this arise it can make it seem like we don't care about our French and German folks but it was merely an issue in logistics and not our intent to deny you information. The only reason we held that announcement yesterday (along with some other things you will see today) is that we did not have them translated into French and German and we would not publish them until that was the case.

It will continue to be our goal to make sure that you are communicated to at the same time as your English counterparts. Thank you for bringing this up and I hope it clears up what happened yesterday and why there was a delay in you getting your localized patch notes.

[Bug] Digital Deluxe Edition | 03.13.2013, 07:48 AM
Hey there folks!

I've got a bit more information for you about gift packages not giving Digital Deluxe players the correct items in their reward emails. First, we added this to the Known Issues yesterday. The bug only affects gift packages created after 1.7.2, and doesn't not affect the old ones that might still be lingering in mailboxes.

Secondly, as the known issue states, both Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition accounts are be affected, though differently.

Finally, I don't yet have a good estimate for when we'll be deploying a fix, but we want to be sure the resolution is thorough. It's a high priority, and we'll continue to communicate any new info into this thread.
