Spoiler: It is not the release date.

Question of the Day- Tuesday 3/12 | 03.12.2013, 03:54 PM
Are you a fan of Operations in SWTOR? Who is your favorite boss?

My second 50 was a Juggernaut tank and I got to spend quite a bit of time tanking Ops so I always tend to see fights from that side. With that in mind, I really enjoyed Firebrand and Stormcaller. A lot of movement, tank swapping, and a smidge of "tank and spank." Overall I just really enjoyed that fight.

How about you?

So with that in mind what is being done to allow for the Imperial Player choices to have an effect on the galaxy and the story of the old republic. What lies in store for Imperial players who so far have seen very little other than in fighting and pointless story arcs that are unwritten in the Republic story arcs? When will the Empire strike back or will Rise of the Hutt Cartel be nothing more than pointless running around tomb raiding for the Empire players which will end up going no where.
Hi Costello,

I would disagree with the assertion that Imperial players' actions were pointless. While the Empire as a whole is in a tough position at the start of Rise of the Hutt Cartel, it's likely that they'd have been completely obliterated without the actions of the Imperial players who eliminated a number of massive threats both internal and external. Without the players, it would be impossible to act on the opportunities Makeb presents, and if the Empire is indeed going to strike back, it will only be accomplished through the leadership and battle prowess of the players.

Blue Sphere: Not Bound to Legacy? (Not asking for Legacy Wide Speeder) | 03.12.2013, 03:42 PM
Hi folks!

Stepping in to confirm that this is absolutely not intended. We've added the following to the Known Issues:
  • The Blue Sphere Reputation Reward for the Gree Enclave is currently Bind on Pickup rather than Bind on Legacy as intended.

We apologize for any confusion. This should be fixed with patch 1.7.3, but please remember that any time we give an estimate like that, testing could change things. If this happens, we'll be sure to let you know.

So BW, still no Trooper/Bounty Hunter creation screen armor? | 03.12.2013, 02:52 PM

BW can you please post a date when this armor will be made available? We know it's there, it was datamined awhile ago.

Just to show you the problem here, let's take a look at when the other 6 character armor sets were released.

12/8/12 - Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior
1/8/13 - Smuggler and Agent
1/23/13 - Consular and Inquistor
Hey Brian,

Currently the Bounty Hunter is slated for Game Update 1.7.3. No exact timing on the Trooper but it is currently planned shortly after Game Update 2.0 and Rise of the Hutt Cartel.

Hope that helps!

Hi Xorcist,

While there is no native sentient species on Makeb, the planet's flora and fauna are quite unique and exotic, and the sentient population is definitely not exclusively human. Twi'leks, Zabraks, Nikto, Weequay, and many other species make their home on Makeb.

Thanks for your question!

CM items vs actually playing the game. | 03.12.2013, 02:16 PM
Hey Philastra!

One thing I did want point out is that I know sometimes there may be a misconception that because we are releasing new items into the Cartel Market, that we are not producing other content. Just to make everyone aware that our Cartel Market and content development teams are two very different things internally.

That is to say, us producing new items for the Cartel Market does not adversely mean we are not producing content. We are always doing both of these things and they are released accordingly.

I am not sure if that directly addresses any of your concerns, but I thought this would be a good place to make mention of that. Also, as you can imagine our "content developers" are pretty busy with Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Game Update 2.0. I did attempt to address some of the other concerns that you raised in one of my other posts as well, you can see that here (I think you saw it already but just in case).

Hoods still borked....Thanks | 03.12.2013, 12:23 PM
Hey folks,

There are a couple of bug with the way headgear is displaying right now:

1. Some helmets no longer display under hoods when they used to - This was a new issue with Patch 1.7.1.

2. Certain Trooper helmets no longer display, regardless of the "Hide Head Slot" setting. This is a new bug with today's patch and is limited of a small number of specific items.

We know that these things can be frustrating for those that have worked to make their characters look just as you want them. Unfortunately, I don't have a time frame for when they'll be fixed, but I'll be sure to let you folks know as soon as I have solid information.

Thanks bunches for your patience!

You say this reputation is based on money spent but, even though the reputation is based on money spent, the actual items are based on money spent PER CHARACTER (and luck). The Certificates should be bound on Legacy or the items from the vendors should be bound on Legacy.
That is a very good point, I am going to pass this on to the development team.

Keep the feedback coming as I will be keeping an eye on the thread and continue to pass your feedback on. I understand some of you are frustrated but try to keep your feedback as detailed and constructive as possible. It will allow me to more easily discern your specific frustrations with the system to pass on your feedback.

[Bug] Digital Deluxe Edition | 03.12.2013, 10:05 AM
We are currently investigating reports that Digital Deluxe players not receiving all bonus items upon character creation, and we'll be sure to update the Known Issues and/or this thread when we have more information.

Erked. | 03.12.2013, 09:21 AM
I can see from reading over this thread (and some others) that there are some questions around this new Reputation so I wanted to hopefully clarify a few points in this thread.
  • Reputation is based on money spent! - Although to an extent this is certainly true as the Reputation is gained by opening Contraband Packs, keep in mind that if you do not want to spend Cartel Coins on packs you always have the option of purchasing them through the GTN from other players. I know this will not diffuse the notion that it is a "pay to Reputation" but it is an alternative to spending Cartel Coins if that was your primary concern.
  • Pay To Win - When designing a system for the Cartel Market this is always something we are very aware of. With this new Reputation system almost all of the items you can get have no stats and are purely cosmetic items or Adaptive shells. The only exception is the level 43 armor which was previously found on the Cartel Market.
  • Exclusive Items - As a part of this Reputation there are three vendors found on the fleet, only one of these vendors contains items exclusive to this organization (which again, has no stats on it). The other two vendors contain items which are either found in packs from Shipment One, or were previously a part of the Cartel Market (which are most likely all available from other players on the GTN). These items all cost credits, Cartel Market Certificates, or both.

I know these clarifications will certainly not alleviate all of your frustrations. I want to note that the design philosophy behind this Reputation was to specifically thank the players who purchase the best-selling items on the Cartel Market, the packs. I hope those clarifications can alleviate some of your concerns, however, please keep the feedback coming. As you explore the system we want to hear your thoughts and will be keeping an eye on this thread.

Yep! In addition to taking your feedback into account for the level change, this patch fixed the bug that prevented companions from wearing Galactic Reputation gear.

Nefash's Pilot Training School - Space Missions Resource | 03.12.2013, 07:15 AM
Hi soneil,

This is a fantastic resource, and since you just got it updated for Reputation, I wanted to point out that Patch 1.7.2 added new rewards, so you'll need another update soon. Thanks for putting it together and keeping everyone updated with the latest and greatest stuff in the world of Space Combat!

In Warhammer Online, most people played Destruction as well.

And since SWTOR is the second largest MMO and arguably the second most popular game on the market today, do you think it has finally obliterated the myth that that good side will always be the most populated?
Hey Lium,

We can't give exact numbers, but Empire has a very, very, VERY slight lead over Republic when it comes to population. However, this varies from server to server.

Does Makeb address this lack of any reward from PvP in any form?
Hey TUXs,

Unfortunately, I don't think Makeb quite fits your specific requests. As I stated previously, it offers similar open world PvP to other same faction planets in our game.

I would be curious to hear your thoughts on the Relics of the Gree event. This was definitely a step forward for us in creating an event which had incentives for Open World PvP.

As Chuixupu said, something like what you were describing would be something we would definitely have an announcement around and we have no information right now on any systems like that for Makeb.

Hey Lucotas,

If you are on a PvP server, Makeb is like any other shared Faction planet where you can participate in open world pvp.

I wonder when it is too... OH WAIT I KNOW!

Here are the details! Game update 1.7.2 is going live with tomorrow morning's maintenance! That's right, you will be playing the Gree Event once again within 24 hours. Also since I know this will come up, the Gree Event will be running from March 12th - March 26th.

There are some other things I wanted to keep all of you apprised of as well. Aside from the Golden Scalene Armor being embargoed from the Cartel Market, so are a few other items. They are:
  • Dire Taskmaster's Robe
  • Dire Overlord's Vestments
  • Dire Warmaster's Body Armor
  • Dire Eliminator's Chestguard
  • Guard Captain's Chestplate
  • CZ-27k Stealth Ops Suit
  • CZ-18x Avalanche Chestplate
  • Honored Master's Vestments
  • Honored Champion's Robe
  • Honored Sabarist's Harness
  • Honored Adept's Shroud
  • MA-52 Med-tech Chestplate
  • Emergency Responder's Overcoat
  • MA-53 Overwatch Chestplate
  • Jawagram "I Love You"
  • Jawagram "It's A Surprise"

One last thing I wanted to tease... Make sure you check out the Gree Event vendor. You will see what I think is the coolest looking mount in our game to date. Like, seriously it is amazing.

Let's Talk Forum Rules | 03.11.2013, 12:46 PM

2. What will keep you from abusing said power over the forums? I've seen a lot of moderators who don't like something and someone is banned or warned and it violated no rule on forums. What would stop you from doing this?

3. Who is your acting supervisor and how would we contact him if you abused your power?

4. Can we vote on if we can keep certain trolls?

Now I know this may sound like i'm attacking you or distrust you (I do, I trust very few people) but i've seen power abused by many people in positions of authority and believe that we must keep a system of checks and balances in place to keep that from happening. I also believe in very specific guidelines in place so people understand what and how they violated rules.
I have answers!

1. Interestingly, it is hard for me to actually provide you a specific example without breaking forum rules. Something that will skip you right over a warning is something that honestly, should be blatantly obvious to anyone is something that is a breach of the rules. As a general statement, something like making a death threat, etc. is something that is of the severity that could do this. However, note that something like that is an extreme example, use your best judgement. If it is something that is a very egregious breach of the rules, it could get you an infraction.

2/3. I have the same answer to both of these. The person that is reviewing disputes is never the same person as the one who gave you an infraction. We do this so that we have our own systems of checks and balances.

4. We will all have our "beloved" trolls and as a part of the new rules we are going to be less strict about this. However, if someone is breaking rules, they will be actioned appropriately.

Hopefully I covered your questions. As theUndead mentioned, I can't exactly spell out all of our policies in depth, but that should hopefully cover your concerns.
