I am having this issue too, I canceled so I could switch down to a one month and be sure I wasn't going to be billed twice. Now I can't subscribe at all :p

Have the same issue for 12 hours now. Called support and was asked to call them again in few hours due to some maintenance on their internal systems.

I know this might be a double post, but what the heck.

I just checked my subscription and the options there has changed now so something is being worked on in the background.

Earlier today it said that my subscription was expired and now it says:
Your play time will be renewing soon. When your play time runs out, you will be billed automatically.

Guess I will try back again in a few hours since mine says it will be ending soon.

I recall paypal being broken before, maybe its broken again.

Also, might sound obvious but worth a shot. Disable VPN/proxies if you have them, or try from different location if you're under some restrictive network (Work, Univ campus or such)

I had the same problem when I was trying to set up my subscription in December.
For me the issue was because I do not use Internet Explorer as my browser.

So what I did was to use IE and that solved the issue for me.

If you guys are not using IE try using that, it could be it helps.

If you are however using IE, then I cant help, but I thought I could at least post it in case someone found it useful.

Oh well, time to go to work and then to a Star Wars concert afterwards.

I tried to pay for a subscription for my friend with my credit card. Card is accepted and verified (I can see a 1.95$ reservation in bank payment history), but after order confirmation (checkbox " I have read and accept") I get an error message "General Error" "An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please try again later". I pay for my own subscription with same credit card, can this be the source of the problem?

I've been on the phone for 3 hours yesterday and a billing agent told me that special characters lke an º could have been preventing me from subscribing if I have them on my billing address here on my SWTOR website account. And I still don't know if my Paypal account will be billed today or if it will fail again like it did on Thursday...I guess I have to wait a few more hours to know if I can pay to subscribe or if my payment will be declined again for no viable reason.

Just make sure that you don't have any characters that are not from 0 to 9 or from A to Z on your SWTOR address and

Customer support should coordinate themselves and make a FAQ about Paypal payments, Paypal billing has been flawed basically since launch.

Also, this link doesn't solve anything http://www.swtor.com/support/form it's just misleading players into thinking that web support will actually solve their issues when it's not, web support is inexistent to free players and for subscribers it's extremely delayed so giving this page http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/5200 would be more precise and correct.

oh boy... So i have had this problem since day 2 of the new patch. I have tried to use several different cards from several different bank accounts and still get this message over and over. So I called my banks and asked if they had been blocking purchases, in which they replied with a no. So, what is SWTOR's deal with this purchasing issue?

The sticky that was posted above does not help in the least as an FYI. Please fix this issue so I can order the new expansion. Thank you for your.... Hasty reply...

Oh yeah...they might be able to fix this over the phone (i've seen multiple reports from players on this) IF you can hold for 2+ hours and are lucky enough to not get auto disconnected by EA-BW like i did. They STILL refuse to admit publicly that its their issue and not ours or our banks.

Being put on hold for four hours only to be told the people I needed to speak too went home 20 mins ago is NOT BLOODY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Do you not want money? Is that it? I'm not going to be on hold for
Four.
Bloody.
Hours.
Just to give you money.
My account payment eventually went through five days after the fact, but I still can't buy coins.
And I won't buy anymore of them if this is how you bungle a simple bank transaction.
So thank you, I've spent a good 40$ plus on coins before you stopped me from giving you money, Probably saved my bank account a good 40$ more with your Customer "Service"

NU2001 is the new red... If you can't fix an issue apparently the correct course of action is to change the face of it.. Great fix EA. Cheers to hoping Disney buys you out.

Hey guys I normally don't post on the forums but since I've had the same issue as everyone else here I thought I'd drop in. Does anyone know if they're doing anything about it at all or are we just to sit here and wait to see what happens?

I mean I've never had a problem with the game up until now where I've tried to use both card and paypal to buy some coins. Just doesn't seem like its meant to be,

What for me worked was going to my payment history and deleting my paypal account there. After that I didn't get any error messages.

*WARNING* If you have an active subscription, deleting your paypal info will cancel that sub. (I didn't have that issue because I use gametime cards)
